Ordered combo ½ sandwich and a small soup. Per the menu should be $ 4 + $ 3 = $ 7. The staff charged $ 10. Asked him to explain? He said«will take $ 1 off from full price. THISISHOWWESHOULDREADTHEMENU» Dishonest practice will not get you very far.

Absolutely delicious! The clam chowder was nice and thick. I placed it in the refrigerator over night and the next day I heated the soup and put it in my bread bowl. It was yummy. The broth didn’t run as I cut the bread bowl. We will definitely be back to add a salad.

I’ve been to the San Francisco Soup Company(SFSC) before in Berkeley, but have never tried it at the Metreon before. So, for my lunch today I wanted to be a little more healthier, so I came and ordered a make your own salad. I ended up doing romaine lettuce adding chicken and bacon(getting unhealthier by the second lol) low fat ranch, corn, carrots and croutons. I got a piece of French bread included and got a drink. The salad was fantastic. I enjoy that they toss and mix everything together right there in front of you. The young man who helped me behind the counter was very pleasant as well and I tipped him accordingly. It does get a bit pricier especially if you want to add more toppings, but the place is consistent. Overall, I will definitely come back again soon for a healthier alternative for lunch!

They have a variety of soups, sandwiches and salads. I got the clam chowder with their new kale and quinoa side salad. It was roughly $ 9, but very filling for soup and salad. The clam chowder was average, but the side salad was a really great valued salad! It was fresh and delicious :) Customer service was great at this location. Quick and friendly!

I would have ordered soup here, had anyone been behind the counter. Or if the girl in the back who looked out and saw me standing here came up and helped me. Coriander was better anyway.

It wasn’t the very best but you really can’t beat the price. They include bread with all soup and it’s a quick choice as well. You can eat outside of the weather permits.

I was looking for a healthy alternative to «food court» eateries, so I chose San Francisco Soup Company because they seemed to have a ton of salads to choose from. Unfortunately, after stopping by maybe an hour before closing time, the employee informed me that everything was pre-made and my only options were from a refrigerator holding maybe 5 sandwiches and less than 10 salads. I paid $ 7 and some change for their«combo» meal, took a bite of my turkey sandwich and was immediately disappointed because I found that the bread was stale and inedible. At that point, I knew that ordering from SF Soup Company was a waste of my calories and wished that I had ordered food from Coriander Thai. I’m sorry, but I could make a better sandwich and salad!

Food with no heart or soul. This isn’t always the case with chains, but very true at this SF Soup Company. I was nearby at Target and decided to grab lunch inside the Metreon. I’ve never actually been to an SF Soup Company, so I decided to try them out. Stood in line and ordered soup from the lady behind the soup counter. She repeated my order and I walked up to the cashier. Grabbed my half sandwich from the case and told her I was getting the combo. Well, I guess the girl I ordered soup from decided to leave before packing my soup, so another gentleman had to finish my order. Weird, but okay, things happen I guess. I got the Combo meal with New England clam chowder($ 5.88 for 12oz) & Turkey pesto(+$ 2.60). So disappointing. The chowder wasn’t seasoned very well, so super bland. Had to add salt and pepper to give it flavor. Plus, the soup was mostly potatoes and not much else. This is clam chowder, not potato chowder right? The sandwich wasn’t much better. The bread was thick, airy and cold. Kind of like eating cold focaccia sans all the good olive oil. The filling was alright, but not much pesto flavor. Never again SF Soup Company. This was a complete fail of a meal.

Corn chowder was good, salad was pretty weak. Soup comes with a piece of bread and I found it a really good value for the price. I would recommend for a quick bite.

I work nearby and so I’ve been here a few times. I’ve ordered their Southwestern Corn Chowder, Mary’s Chicken Soup, New England Clam Chowder, and a half sandwich. With the exception of their New England Clam Chowder which didn’t work out for me that one day, the other soup and sandwiches were just fine. I also tried one of their seasonal specials(with squash) and that worked out well. I get here«early» enough(11:30 a.m.) when I know there is a convention in town to get seating in the open dining area. Otherwise, lines become long and seating becomes few. I’m often in and out in 30 minutes then I walk the 15 minutes back to my office and have time to soak up the beautiful SF weather along the way. If you want an alternative to «burgers and fries»(and a longer wait) and just need something hot for your tummy, then come here. They also sell cookies, brownies, custom or packaged salads, and fruit cups. Service has been fast and friendly so far and that’s much appreciated especially when you only have a short time to eat.

Meh, it’s ok soup. The location is convenient. It’s usually not that busy, even during the lunch rush(is that supposed to imply something I’m not picking up on?). I enjoy the chicken tortilla soup, fully loaded, although it can be a bit of a beast to eat with the cheese topping. That piece of bread that comes with it is kind of a joke. It’s just extra carbs, sitting there, mocking you… Service has always been fast and friendly. Would go again, but there are much more satisfying meals in the same food court or a few steps away, for a similar price.

I got the Chicken Tortilla Soup here during Dreamforce ’13. It was crappy; no spice or real flavor. This whole place is overpriced tourist trap crap food. The bread was okay, but for what I paid I was not impressed. The Thai place in the same mall in the corner is really good though. Went there a couple times.

This was the first place I ate in San Francisco after landing for a business trip, and I had to stop in again before leaving. Both times I had the Tomato Bisque with half a Turkey sandwich. The soup was the best I’ve had in a while. It was thin and flavorful, which was nice because I was looking for something lighter. There were a lot of soups to choose from. It’s definitely food court type food, which makes sense since it is in a food court, so if you are looking for a light lunch/dinner option on the go, this is a great spot!

The SF Soup Company is one of the food places in the Metreon food court from which you can choose. I was waiting for my movie time to start so I thought I would take advantage of the location and try this place. They have a variety of soups and sandwiches and if you should your movie ticket stub from that day, you can get a complimentary drink with your meal. First, this place was pretty empty compared to the other eateries in the area. The sandwiches are all pre-made so you just choose from the front refrigerated shelves. I had the New England Clam Chowder and it was very average and almost a little too creamy. The sandwich was good, but you can tell that this is a chain restaurant and there is almost no creativity or freshness in their meals. It’s sad because a soup and sandwich restaurant can be so much better.

Menu items are more expensive(and portions also seem smaller) than they are at other SF Soup Company locations. However, they do offer«small» and«large» sizes for the salads. Quality of the food is still the same though(fresh!!) On a more positive note, service is friendly and fast even during rush hour. They also did not get annoyed at the million substitutions I wanted for my salad. :)

In the interest of doing things fast and bass-ackwards, I went to the the Soup Company for a salad. Passable salads, with an unusual ordering system — pick up a plastic box of greens, hand it across the counter and specify either a salad or a wrap, and choose your additions(tofu, edamame, beets, goat cheese, etc). Then fight your way through the main soup line to get around to the register, and you’re good to go. (You can also get chili or chowder in a bread bowl, if you believe a hammer is best used for hitting nails. Me, I like mine for splitting wood).

After a Unilocal Elite event, my girlfriend and I wanted to get only a light dinner to supplement the tamales from the evening. We walked over to the Metreon to see what they were serving up there. It was getting late and many of the options were near closing so we decided to just grab some soup and a sandwich from the SF Soup Company. I tried to order the turkey pesto but they were out, so I was stuck grabbing a pre-made chicken sandwich. She tried to get one of three soups, but they were all out so we got stuck with their chili. I wasn’t into either of them. My sandwich was cold and stale while the chili had been cooking all day and was really dry. Prices are so-so at best though the Yerba Buena Gardens are a pretty place to lunch on a nice day. Your dog is even welcome out there! Unfortunately, I wasn’t even remotely impressed by the food here, and despite arriving at the end of the night, doesn’t make me want to return. Food: 4⁄10 Service: 6⁄10 Price: $ Atmosphere: 7⁄10
