This is an awesome, family-owned store. Everything is clean and they have everything that you could ever need. No food has ever been expired and their good selection is very fresh. Plus, the owners are a family who are local and invested in the community. The owner, Tony, is a great guy. Please shop here and support our local corner market and good people such as Tony and his family.

The clerk was polite, but he overcharged me and ripped me off $ 1 for a lottery ticket. I picked out two 99-cent packets of ibuprofen and a 99-cent mini-vodka. I asked for a one-dollar lotto ticket. The clerk gave me a number sheet and I picked my numbers. He looked at it, and said«you want easy pick?» No, dude, but whatever. I told him just to get the ticket. He charged me $ 6.47 for the $ 3.97 worth of items, and handed me the card receipt but not the lottery ticket. I ask for it, and he says, «I already gave it to you. Sorry.» Wait, what? I emptied out my pockets on to the counter. I pointed to the charge on the receipt. Where is the ticket, dude? It’s not here. You very clearly never gave it to me. «Maybe someone walking by took it.» Seriously? No one came near the counter. Give me the goddam ticket, junior. «It’s only a dollar, sir.» A shrug. «Sorry.» True, it’s only a dollar. But it’s blatant theft and utterly bizarro as well. Screw this place. If the clerk overcharges me by 50% on $ 4, he’s probably doing it to others too. I’ll be unbelievably pissed if that bloody idiot wins the lottery.

State Market has a little bit of everything but not a great variety in any item. i.e. some microbrews,(cheaper than down the street) but not much variety. buys: helados ice cream bar(mango) 1.5 –yummy, with real fruit. notes: –friendly service –no lotto tics here.

I love my corner store. Most of the time its a really sweet guy who manages the store. But sometimes you don’t luck out with the other guy. Anyways, the selection is pretty great for the size. They really pack stuff in. The prices are comparable with other corner stores.

Friendly, well-stocked corner store, with the emphasis on friendly. I love having this store in my neighborhood because you don’t get the creepy vibe that you get at some corner stores. Excellent beer selection.

A good corner store in the Inner Richmond for the quick pick up of beer, soda, or a quick junk food snack. The beer tends be $ 1-$ 2 more expensive than it really should be, but they carry a really wide variety of beer. Sometimes the stuff we pick up at State Market I’ve never seen anywhere else. The owners are super nice and friendly, the kind of people who remember you when you’re a regular visitor.

It’s a corner store. They’ve got grocery, sundry, frozen food, dairy, and liquor and ice. No meat or produce, though. The deal is that the people who own it are VERY friendly.

State Market my corner market, and I could do a lot worse. The beer and wine is an average of $ 2 more than each should be, so skip this place for libations. But they have so much unexpected stuff for a corner store, that I have to give them props. The Richmond is known for many things, but Mexican food isn’t one of them. I needed corn tortillas to make a quick meal at home complete, and feared I’d have to trek all the way to Trader Joe’s. I stopped into State Mkt just to check, and lo and behold, they had 10 corn tortillas for a mere 75 cents. Score. For an area without a chain grocery nearby, this market will probably keep you covered until you make a proper trip to the store. And the lady behind the counter is sweet as pie.

Came here with a friend because they wanted to buy a pack of cigarettes before going out. OMG! $ 6.50 for a pack! Wow. Later he figured out there was a tax increase in them. Haha… Friendly mom-n-pop shop.
