They have a vast array of snacks and are conveniently located on the corner of 4th and Clement. My roommates and I agreed this is the cheapest place on Clement to buy a soda. Cans for 59 cents and bottles for as little as $ 1. They usually have Nantucket nectars and Trolli Brite Eggs. Can’t beat it!

Twice now the guy on the checkout was rude and too busy talking to want to help out a white guy. I knew my scratch-off lottery ticket won $ 6 but he wouldn’t show me how to scan it and when I said«well I know I won» he said, «well I’m closing now» and pointed the door to me. I’m actually very polite and non-combative but this clown has an anger problem. I also know that when my pretty girlfriend goes in to cash a scratch off that he’s nice to her. I’ll never go here again.

Yup, this is my go to place for jap beer and crackers. Other than that they have a lot of asian crap there that i have no use for even if I could understand what it was. Nothing fancy, good store cause its on my block.

We come out to the Richmond area often to do grocery shopping and to walk around and I never noticed this place until I saw what great ratings it had on Unilocal,so I had it bookmarked and walked around just to find it. It was hard to find because it looks like it’s closed! It’s very dark and there’s gating around the windows. When you walk in, it looks like it’s closed too, there are empty aisles, it’s unorganized and messy, the shelves are dirty, and the items on the shelves look OLD and some expiration dates on items have passed. It’s weird too because there were boxes of scattered in aisles but the walls were empty. There was one lady working and she was behind the register the whole time and did not look happy that we even walked into her store. SORRY.

Tiny little asian grocery market that has a good assortment of items. I focused on the snacks and candies from Japan. Walked out with pockys, hi-chews, and other boxs of non-english candies. Love surprises…

Got a pack of Nissin Yakisoba that I was looking for and a Korean brand of cup noodles from here. They have a bunch of Japanese snacks, drinks, as well as some frozen items, cosmetics, containers, non-perishable items like furikake, miso-soup, condiments, some bags of rice in the back, etc. Nothing like the assortment of items you can find at Nijiya, but the prices here seem cheaper. The plates and bowls look like they are all made in Japan and they are not that expensive either. If I lived near this place, I could see myself dropping by often!

best place to buy 59 cent sodas, a pack of wasabi 8 mate rice crackers, a cute little bowl with a kitty face painted inside it, a giant plastic lollipop filled with smaller real lollipops and a rice cooker. And don’t forget $ 3 in quarters to buy some little pooh and Simpsons knick knacks in the machines outside.

This place has Japanese candy and other goodies. I come here for the Gatsby Face Oil Blotting Sheets. They don’t take off my makeup and its about $ 4 for a good number of sheets(cant remember the count). Don’t know where else I could find these sheets except off Amazon.

Nostalgic candies galore! Whether it’s Hi-Chews, Pocky, Super Lemon, or those sour gummy dinosaur eggs you crave, I’ll bet you won’t leave this place empty handed, because I never do. Their drink section is a like a brightly lit utopia of beverage heaven.

I’ve wandered up and down Clement a few times but never really noticed the place. For some reason yesterday it popped out. What the what??? Super TOKIO! Had to go in. Cute little shop, friendly guy behind the counter and pretty much every snack from Japan you can possibly need/want. Got my fix of coconut Pocky and my boyfriend got his Meiji chocolate almonds. Oh and he got two small Marvel figures. It’s THAT kind of store too. He almost got some other animé toys but said he would look around more and maybe come back. Definitely will stop here whenever we’re in that area.

YAYFOREDIBLECANCER! I personally have a love/hate relationship with junk food. Who can resist? They have lot’s of snack selections that are a whole lot cheaper than Genki down the block. If Super Tokio had crepes, Genki would go out of business.

Dropped by because I was in the area. It’s a cute little Japanese grocery store that reminds me of Sakura on Irving, but in a much bigger space. Great variety of Asian snacks/candy. You know I had to leave with my Gummy Chocos. They also have a good selection of Hi-Chew flavors that I’ve never seen before i. e lychee, durian, cola, etc. I have to come back to try more. They also have an ok selection of beauty/makeup products like Shiseido Cleansing Oil and Lucido Hair Spray. I saw some mascaras that were around $ 14, which sounds outrageous, but you have to remember that these products are often imported. They have a good selection of packaged noodles, seaweed, etc. Lots of kitchen items. Refrigerated food items in the back. Oh and sake! Definitely worth checking out!

This corner store sells snacks, food, grocery(refrigerated) items, and everything else, as long as it’s from Asia. They have more snacks and candy than they have anything else. If you can’t find your savory fix here then you’ll probably have to hit Chinatown or Japantown. They also carry some Japanese beauty products that always catch my eye. But alas, I could never figure out what the product is used for. I sometimes think to ask the bored looking girl sitting behind the counter but she also doesn’t look very approachable.

They didn’t have the specific Japanese soda candy I was looking for, but they did have hi-chews. Lots of hi-chews. Including Durian flavor. They were $ 1.19 a pack, which isn’t the cheapest I’ve found them, but considering they also had the difficult-to-find«kamu kamu»(«camu camu»?) hi-chews, the price is pretty good. I bought a box of the camu camu ones.(The internet says this is a berry from the amazon rain forest. It is sour and delicious in hi-chew form.) I don’t mean a pack, I mean a box of twelve. They’re really hard to find! Good-sized store with bowls, spoons, candy candy candy, display case of small toys, some other housewares and foodstuffs. This would be a fun market to browse if you’re in the area and need to kill time(or devour hi-chews).

I walked in just on curiosity. Inside there are assorted sundries, Asian sauces, a refrigerated section of prepared Japanese foods and a freezer full of delicious frozen Japanese foods. I was looking for something unique but didn’t find anything interesting in the small kitchenware or gadgets areas. Then I found the aisle with all of the packaged Japanese noodles and my interest picked up. I selected just a couple to try. In another aisle there were several wire baskets filled with imported Japanese magazines dealing with food, fashion, manga and yes, animé! Even though I can’t read it I picked up an animé magazine because it had lots of neat photos. I saved the absolutely best aisle for last and that was the aisle filled with Japanese snacks and candies. Seriously, I wanted to take home one of everything but dreaded carrying all that stuff on Muni. I will return to this very neat little store, and next time I’m bringing the car!

I come here all the time to pick up my Asian snacks/candy and drinks(Kirin milk tea is great) all the time. The prices are cheap, and the workers are nice as well(not«racialist» and they really do «no» English… don’t know what the problem is there). I also like to look at their housewares in front for small plastic storage containers. Not sure why since they aren’t that functional, but they are still fun when you do find something to neatly hold your random things at home. This place reminds me of a smaller version of a Daiso, but much closer to home.

This is where i get my aloe drink and bottled milk tea from. other than that, Ive never really looked around all that much. I just go straight to the back. But I did notice that they have some pretty large bottles of sake back there too~ service has never been an issue, the lady behind the counter was alwys nice and the guy there nods to me whenever I walk in~ feels like ive been accpeted to a secret society heh heh…

Felt like I was back in Japan. All sorts of seaweed and fishy snacks are available, ingredients are in English so you’ll be able to figure out what you’re eating(so long as you can Wikipedia«cuddle fish» from your iPhone). I went to town and bought all sorts of snacks and a couple jars of kimchee. They had an okay selection of sake though most bottles were light on English(I should have asked for help…). A fun stop for when you’re walking around the Richmond and looking for something new…
