Took forever to deliver. Called in and was told they were 10 mins away which was not true. Total delivery time was around an hour and a half.

If you are looking for pleasant sushi experience look no further than Sushi In in Marina! Tastefully made rolls, geometrically pleasing nigiri and excellent selection of vegetarian rolls for very reasonable price make this place a true gem of crowded San Francisco’s sushi scene! Highly recommend!!!

Our sushi was good, not great. I probably wouldn’t eat here again. The takeout was just as good as when we ate in the restaurant, so they don’t keep your dinner sitting around.

Not great sushi… This place had great reviews so I decided to try it. I’m not sure if the other sushi places I eat at are amazing, but this place did not impress me or compare. Would not recommend to a friend.

Coming from Tucson, AZ I thought this place was great. Different. It was small and what I thought a San Fransisco sushi place might be. The chefs seemed so detailed and focused in every effort they made. Loved my 49ers roll! Will definitely come back

Came here after a full day of moving in to a new apartment. It’s a small restaurant with a few tables and a sushi bar, but the food is fantastic! The rolls are all very unique and creative. The Fireworks was especially good — spicy but delicious! Highly recommend the spicy garlic edamame too!

I REALLY enjoy this place. I’ve had a surprisingly hard time finding good sushi/Japanese in The Marina and this place never fails. AND they are open on Sundays!

I ordered food for delivery at work, since it’s pretty close by. The food was cold and the teriyaki chicken had no sauce/teriyaki flavor. I got the teriyaki entrée with rice and salad and miso soup — at least the salad was good but not for $ 20+. Never ordering from here again.

Surprisingly a solid sushi place. I honestly thought they’d be a mediocre sushi joint in the Marina. I was craving sushi, but didn’t want to trek out to that area of Chestnut on a holiday. I decided to place a delivery for a sashimi platter and nigiri. I wouldn’t say that their sushi is the best in the area, but it’s reasonably priced with decent cuts of fresh fish. My food arrived on time and they didn’t forget about my request for extra wasabi and ginger :) Great low key spot for happy hour or when you want to grab a quick bite of sushi. The downside is that they only have indoor seating and can be quite dark inside.

This is what winning tastes like. Seriously, this is probably the best sushi restaurant in the city. I’m surprised it isn’t packed all the time. Order the Murray Roll if you’re not afraid to ride the lightening.

A diamond in the rough! This small but mighty sushi joint impressed us with their super fresh fish, lovely presentation, and friendly, efficient service. The nigiri was not overstuffed with rice, providing a perfectly-sized bundle of oceanic delight. There were several unique«fish of the day» specials that tasted fresh off the hook. Had the server provided us with the standard before-meal oshibori, and poured my husband’s beer into his glass, we’d have granted the 5th star.

Amazing happy hour specials! The sushi was delicious and made so quickly. We got the tuna hand roll and Alaskan roll. Both tasted so fresh! Would definitely go back if we didn’t live on the other side of the country!

Updating my review now that I’ve tried more sushi spots in the area. Don’t get me wrong. The In is solid. But it’s just not quite 4 stars. Service is okayyy but not amazing. Rolls are good, not amazing. And ambiance is well… trying too hard to be a sushi club. If you’re looking for a place you can just pop in and out of, this would be a good option. But if you’re really looking for quality, I would recommend Zushi Puzzle or Ace Wasabi.

The fish was bad… So bad that I spit it out before swallowing on the first bite. We went back to request a refund on our take out order(First time ever anywhere). They get one star for the easy refund, which made me even more uneasy… it had seemed like they were used to costumers returning orders. Needless to say, we won’t be going back again. There are too many places with fresh fish.

Just left Sushi IN. It was DEEEELICIOUS! This is my new favorite Japanese restaurant in the city. The décor is welcoming but good for first dates too. I love the colors everywhere! My boyfriend and I got soooo much food. and EVERYTHING was perfect.

Small, dark sushi spot in the Marina. We got the omakase and it was a pretty good amount of sashimi for the price. Fish was fresh, particularly enjoyed the otoro and uni. I would def recommend to dine here if you are within the area and looking for some sushi/sashimi. Not a great date place, more of a spot you go with a friend to catch up at. Service was great, friendly service.

I was looking for a place large enough for my birthday dinner, and this place did the trick! It’s a little easy to overlook at first glance: I know I definitely would’ve missed it had I not been looking for it, and one of my good friends couldn’t find it altogether. Started with the calamari, which was just okay, and a bottle of sake for the table. This is definitely more of a sushi place(than general Japanese food) — they only had a few non-sushi items on the list, which was fine by me as I’m a fan of sushi. One of my friends ordered the teriyaki chicken and she seemed to be happy with it. The rest of us ordered 4 rolls to share: Mango Madness, Beef Tataki, TKO, and… one other I can’t remember the name of. All of the rolls were delicious and we left happy and very full.

Best Sushi on Chestnut by far!!! P. S. for REAL Sushi Eaters I have been going to Sushi-In 1 – 2 times per week for the last 2 years and this is why: 1. Some of the best uni in town — the pieces are huge, super fresh and Sushi-In is the only restaurant in town carrying the«Gold» quality Mendocino Uni(at the moment). 2. Highest Quality Sushi Happy Hour in Town(M-F 4:30−6pm)! GIANT hand rolls for $ 3, large pieces of FRESH Hamachi for $ 2 ea, $ 4 large hot sake(I know… I prefer cold too, but it’s $ 4). 3. VERYFRESH– They receive seafood shipments everyday so the quality is consistently excellent. 4. Fabulous staff who LOVES children(I don’t see children there often, but they have hello kitty cups ready) — My 5 year old daughter’s favorite place to go. While the selection is not as interesting as Kappa, Kabuto or Zushi Puzzle, what they do have is consistently fabulous and much less expensive(just as good and sometimes better). Yesterday I ordered Uni, O-Toro and some happy hour Nigiri with my daughter(who eats as much as me). We walked out the door with a $ 32 bill. Nowhere in San Francisco serves up this quality for this price! That said, if you are looking for a marina scene or you like low quality rolls you are likely to be disappointed. Because Sushi-in carries such high quality seafood, the rolls are more expensive relative to other places in the area that stuff their rolls with less fresh seafood. If you can’t tell the difference, save your money and go somewhere else. Perhaps Ace?
