Went here for dinner. Place was lively with continuous inflow and outflow of customers. We ordered burritos soft tacos and nachos. Their salsa was bad and so liquidy that just in couple of minutes, chips were soggy beyond one can eat. Burrito was decent. Tacos were bad with stuffed mainly with salad. Overall very okayish experience.

This is the Marina trying to be like the mission, but the Marina is from Nantucket so they’re doing it all wrong. Copy of a copy, of a copy, of a copy… Over priced with low quality products. Laughing straight to the bank! Good job owner! Dear Unilocal, could you add an «authentic» button please? Thanks :)

It was a dark and stormy night when my girlfriend(JennyEatsSF) and I decided to go watch a Beatles Tribute band. But things got stranger as the night went on. After the concert, we ended up at a taqueria. THATHADPOSTERSOFNANTUCKET! And this taqueria served corn. BUTNOTJUSTANYCORN! :O It was corn that had been rolled in parmesan cheese!!! :O :O :O We proceeded to finish our Nantucket tacos before walking outside only to see groups of young people dressed up to the nines for a night on the town. I turned to her and said«Toto…I don’t think that we’re in college anymore…» o_o

Came in on a rainy Friday night before closing and I was a little worried the kitchen might be closing, but the workers were really nice and didn’t seem phased that it was almost 11 pm. We ordered the Mexican street tacos, elote, and salsa and chips. The street tacos were pretty good, small but good. They don’t taste amazing like regular hole in the wall Mexican tacos, but I enjoyed them with some of the sauces they put out(the dark one was especially good, I’ve had better green sauces). My bf seemed to love the elote, and I agree that it was good but boy did that cheese smell! Anyways, this was a fun taco place to try, I liked that they had a wall of hot sauces to try and the workers were nice.

Sorry but this is Mexican food for people who think Chipotle is authentic. What really peeves me about this place is the size of the food for the cost. I ordered the Mexican Burrito and I could quite literally connect my index finger to my thumb around the burrito. It was SOSMALL that I had finished the meal in the time it took to walk across the street and half way down the block. But before I ate that incredibly small burrito, I showed the register attendant how pitifully small it was. He told me –and I’m not joking– the following: «what can i say, its overpriced.» And I don’t think I could have said it better. Pat

Nick’s Way tacos more than make up for any shortcomings this place may have. It’s not the coziest local — order at the counter, etc — but they have beer on tap. I’m a fan. I’ll be back.

I love Tacko but they always overcook their carnitas and chips. I just picked up a salad to go and water pooled to the corner when I tipped the box slightly(and that with dressing on the side). Their burritos are great and the flavor is incredible I just think there needs to be more attention to detail. I’m giving two stars for their burritos and another for the red salsa because it is . Wish I could give five but my experience was less than ideal and the carnitas are too delicious to be overlooked all the time.

I was referred to have lunch in this spot & I am so glad I did! I ordered a chicken taco(Nick’s Way) and let me start off by saying ordering ONE was my first mistake! I should have ordered like, 3! Ha Ha! It was some of the best guacamole I’ve ever had! They serve cola’s in the old school bottles and the place feels fresh and airy. Quick service around lunch time even tho they were pretty busy. I will definitely be back! Great work Tacko!

This was my favorite burrito spot until they messed up my order 2 out of my last 5 trips. The first time I ordered a vegetarian burrito and they put meat in it. I sent it back after taking a bite and they shrugged it off like it was no big deal, but the replacement was just fine. This time around I got a vegetarian burrito to go, drove about 20 minutes home to eat it, bit into it, and again, wrong. I called Tacko to let them know and again, the service… the person on the other line just said, «well all I can say is that I’m sorry and you can drive back and get another one.» No thanks.

This is one of the better burritos spots I’ve tried in SF(and I’ve tried a lot). I usually can tell if a place has good Mexican food based on their salsa. And I looove Tacko’s red salsa! It’s not spicy but it’s not sweet either. It almost had a smoky, chipotle flavor to it. Super yummy! I got their San Francisco burrito with carne asada. The meat was delicious. The burrito was pretty big and came with chips which is always a plus. My only comment is that the burrito had way too much cheese in it. I took one bite and felt like all I ate was cheese. But other than that, it was really good, especially with the red salsa! Their California burritos looked really good so I plan on trying that one next time! Staff was very friendly. The place is big and clean. I’ll be back!

Ah, two of my favorite countries — Mexico and Nantucket. You know I’m all about the #mashup places: sushi AND karaōke, fried chicken AND milk tea, Korean food AND no kpop, or in this case burritos AND lobter* rolls. (-_^) Lobster Roll $ 17.50( ) No mayo. Got a claw! #coolaf (-_^) Mexican Burrito $ 8.25( ) Gracias for no-rice options. (-_^) Iced Yerba Mate $ 3?( ) Tastes like mashed lentils. Plus dopest music ev. Marina folk trying to work on laptops, text frendos, have convos & stizz; I was the only one dancing — can you blame me? Whispers, old soul, and Motown played the whole time. A little too energetic for the mellow crowd, but wgaf. *Not a tpyo.** **But that was. :p

They need a huge lit up neon sign that states wheat tortillas are the normal tortilla for burritos. If I hadn’t skipped lunch I would have thrown the burrito back at the white boy who handed it to me. This is what I get for ordering a burrito from a place that isn’t my go to spot in SF. Nothing good ever comes from leaving your comfort zone. I already know the best spot, why did I try this trash out? Their red salsa was weird too. Had a sweetness to it. It’s probably my fault for not reading the fine print, but when I go into a burrito spot that touts a mission style burrito, that thing better be wrapped in a flour tortilla, and it better be the size of Barry Bond’s steroid needle. It came out triple wrapped in foil, and wasn’t very big. I don’t have a problem with gentrification, but things like this cross the line. Whatever, lesson learned.

Not really a big fan of Mexican food unless it’s been a full night of drinking. For some reason, I was drawn to this place because it didn’t remind me of the typical hole in wall Mexican establishment. It resembled a San Diego, oceanside town, maybe East coast fishing town kind of joint. The Nantucket art gave that away, but could be the picnic style tables with high bar stools. When you go in, it’s pretty simple. Just approach the counter, order your food, get a number and they’ll bring your order to your table when it’s ready. For my meal, I got the Carne Asade San Francisco burrito for $ 10.25. A Mission style favorite, Carne Asada, rice, pinto beans, pico de gallo, cheese and guacamole. The burrito was HUGE! Like I said, I typically don’t care for Mexican food but this was good! Lots of meat so I wasn’t feeling like I wasted money. Very filling and satisfying. Tacko is super fast and convenient. It’s next to all the Cow Hollow pubs and taverns so when you’re in the area, stop by and get yourself a burrito. You’ll be glad you did!

Great spot for a quick bite in the Marina/Cow Hollow area! The«street style» tacos are yummy — and it’s nice if you can’t make a decision about what kind of taco you would like(which tends to happen to me). You have the option of chicken, carne asada, and carnitas. The guacamole is good as well and they always give you a heaping portion — definitely big enough to share. Another favorite thing on the menu is the mexican salad — most of the time I don’t even add the dressing because the flavor is so good on it’s own. I typically get it with carne asada! Overall a nice place to stop in for lunch or a quick weeknight dinner.

I got the«street tacos»(1 pollo, 1 carne asada, 1 carnitas). They were pretty bland… And dry! I had to douse them with hot sauce. DON’T get these! My husband got the«California burrito» with carnitas, which was MUCH better. I wouldn’t compare it to anything you’d get in the Mission, but if you come here, I would recommend it. Margaritas were ok. Not very flavorful, but at least they had a decent amount of tequila. Overall just an ok place.

Maybe I have been spoilt by the mission but I found the tacos and burritos here a little bland. We came here after a long day in the afternoon when it was a bit quieter. We scored a table inside at the front and we set ourselves up with a highchair and a selection of sauces. We had the«San Francisco» chicken burrito which was a bit flavorless and a bit too creamy and the Mexican«street» burritos which were also a bit boring, I liked the pork but my wife found it too fatty. Price wise it is pretty good for the area, they have a good drink selection(variety of beer, cider etc) and the chips and salsa was quite fresh.

I have to update this review based on my experience ordering takeout last night. I ordered a black bean and corn salad with carne asada, no cheese and no dressing. I live 2 blocks away so by the time I got over there to pick it up ~10 min later it was ready and waiting. The staff is always so friendly here — really nice people who go out of their way to help. No different this time, the server asked if I wanted chips and salsa, I said yes and asked for additional salsa which he happily gave me. So I get home and am eager to break into this delicious salad. But when I open it up I sadly realize there is no carne asada on it. This was a big bummer for 2 reasons: first, it’s like $ 5 to add carne asada, and second, it’s sooooo tasty. So I call up to ask about it. The lady on the phone is immediately very apologetic. She offers to refund the purchase in whole or offers that I can come back for a side container of carne asada. I opt for the latter since I’m only two blocks away. When I get there, she again apologizes profusely and hands over a very generous portion of carne asada in a side container. On top of that, she also says she refunded my transaction! The level of humble apology and service was totally unexpected and definitely made an initially unfortunate experience right(more than necessary, I would have been happy with just the extra meat). Just another reason to continue to frequent Tacko(on top of the delicious food!). Thanks!
