Tai Hing Bookstore has more videos, cd’s, and chinese periodicals than books.. there’s also boxes of Tide soap and other household necessites. the girly magazines are at the front next to the cash register. no doubt to discourage random browsers who have no intention of buying the mags. got a few lotte tics and tsingtao paper.(.60) had to specify superlotto, or regular. forgot there’s more than one. seems the cashier(older lady) watches everyone who enters the store.

The customer service here is not friendly at all. The rude Chinese lady looks at you a lot and criticizes you if you’re just browsing. She says in Chinese here comes this person who doesn’t buy anything from here. When I heard that I left and never returned to this store. Do the customers a favor and learn some etiquette you rude bitch

This store may or may not be the same ownership as the place at Chinatown’s Jackson Street called Ng Hing Kee, which I gave a one-star rating for previously because of the rude old lady. Here the customer service is not much better. The older lady that’s usually behind the counter can talk pretty rude too. Or, if you’re the only one browsing the store, she may be looking at you more than you’d like. Other than that, their Chnese media selection is so-so, a lot of items likely unauthentic stuff from China(especially the cd’s for most of which that’s definite). I’ve bought stuff here before and at least sometimes the lady will give you a slight discount if buying more than one item.
