I have NEVER been in a store so engaging and intricate in my life. Classic Duck who? This little gem located off of Portrero street nestled in a little corner building is a must-stop-shop for all who pass by. From books, to toys, to tea, and poise this store has it all. I could easily spend hours walking around checking out little trinkets to include in my home décor or buy gifts for friends on various occasions. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for bringing us this delightful shop for all of our gifting needs.

Wow, was this a great find! Tampopo/Dandelion is filled with gifts that I would spend a long time searching for elsewhere. Their children’s section, while small, is just wonderful — filled with each of my favorite books — one right after another …(this from a children’s book fanatic). They have a lot of great gift-giving possibilities(servingware, frames, outstanding tea — okay this doesn’t sound exciting, but their stock is very unique). I can’t believe I didn’t know about this place before!

This is one of my favorite places to shop for gifts. It is so jam-packed with tons of stuff that you are sure to find something and maybe several things and it will save you from having to drive all over the place to find gifts for everyone. You can get it all done here and get it over all at once. They have kids books and toys, cookbooks and tableware, bath soaps and lotions, and upstairs is Asian home décor, Arts and Crafts décor, art books, «lodge» style home décor, travel knick-knacks, etc. It kind of reminds me of being in the old Gump’s or in a London department store. They have a lot of unique quality stuff for under $ 50 or $ 100 and not a lot of big ticket items so it’s really nice for gift giving. I wish there were more places like this, in this day of chain stores and mall-shopping sameness.

I stumbled in one day looking for the perfect item to round out some gift baskets for a project at work. The folks here were very generous and creative with their ideas. I ended up taking a half pound of assorted chocolates just to «test» back at the office. We all indulged and I got my orders for the project and it turned out to be a great success.

I spend my entire lunch break here some days. I went to Tampopo about 10 times before I realized they had an upstairs-d’oh! The woman up there is about the nicest person I’ve ever encountered in a shop. I think everyone here is nice because they’re surrounded by great stuff and a fantastic array of reading material. This is my favorite place for gifting, and went the day after that Feb 14th thing and there was a superb selection of candy 50% off… makes Necco child’s play. The sign says Tampopo but the price tags say Dandelion… I say, who cares

This is the same store as Dandelion. According to their website, Tampopo is their wholesale business and Dandelion is the retail.

An out of the way shopping trip worth the visit. Asian knick-knacks, art books. Kind of like the SF Moma bookstore without the attitude and security guards.
