Stonestown Body Shop I think is now CLOSED, along with most great shops : I really wanted to put The Body Shop against Bath & Body Works & slag it off but they’ve got some interesting products in their own right that set them apart & allow them to stand on their own in their own way, Even with incredibly strong competition with the likes of B&BW, Sephora, etc… I really like 2 of their fragrances: Water Lotus & Indian Night Jasmin. I prefer the body spray/mist to the Perfume. They are Very Spring & have more of a year round Appeal, & less of a Seasonal Feel, if that makes sense… I came in specifically looking for a Pore Minimizer & tried some kind of Tea Tree Pore Serum which was nice… I’ll possibly be back in for the Buy 3 get 3 Promo, maybe, but I think I’d rather spend my money at Sephora & B&BW. Customer Service here was superior, though. :)

This place is pretty darn depressing, and always empty for a reason. Like another Unilocaler mentioned, literally none of their products come sealed, which, in a crowded mall with people who like to dip their fingers into various products to test them, seems realllly unsanitary. Good luck if you want to make a return here, your life will be made very difficult, and apparently only the manager(?) knows how to return anything(or is the only one allowed to).

The seller is not nice and rude. She has no smile. When I asked her questions about the product, her facial expression seems didn’t want to answer. Otherwise, the products are good.

Great service, some items are a bit pricy but I do love their coconut shea butter and will be back to buy it. :)

My wife bought some skincare products here. I wonder if they have big vats of stuff in the back and they put products in little jars on premises because when you take off the cap there is no plastic seal under it. Not sanitary if you ask me. Also my wife had trouble getting a refund after the stuff gave her, and another person in the household, a rash. Because she threw away the receipt, she could not get a full cash refund(fine), in fact no cash refund at all(sucks a little), no full store credit(sucks more), oh no store credit at all because we are out of gift cards, we have been out for weeks, we don’t know when we will have them, and here leave your name and phone number(eh, I don’t believe you unless your whole company is on the brink of collapsing), so exchanges only(yeah, at this time maybe we don’t want to shop at your store).

i love the ladies here! i used to get my body shop shtuff at different locations in the city, but now i just come here when i run out of my body shop materials. the staff is crazy wonderful, i’m the idiot here for not remembering their names. i’ve done exchanges here no problem, and have had a bazillion samples given to me cheerfully. a couple of the girls also seem to remember what i want and recommend great alternatives for when my skin decides to shift gears, but i’ve never felt pressured to make a purchase or switch products. i almost always end up walking out of this location with a brown paper bag of goodies. i sometimes just want to drop by and give the staff cookies, but i haz a terrible shy. and they might think i’m an über creep. which i kinda am.

After shopping at this store, I prefer shopping at either L’Occitane or Bath & Body Works because this store is like a third-rate competitor. Meh~I’ll shop at the other two stores instead of The Body Shop anywhere around the Planet. Opening times Monday: 10 am — 9 pm Tuesday: 10 am — 9 pm Wednesday: 10 am — 9 pm Thursday: 10 am — 9 pm Friday: 10 am — 9 pm Saturday: 10 am — 9 pm Sunday: 11 am — 6 pm

I“m glad Hugh is on the same page as me, because they are snarky aggressive, and not friendly.

I only intended to buy a couple of things here but because of their 50% off everything in the store offer this past week-end, a couple of things turned into a couple of bags worth of stuff that’ll last me for the next few months. They had this awesome promotion – donate $ 5 to fight human trafficking and get 50% off your entire purchase. That along with the friendly and informative sales staff were the tipping points for me. I wholeheartedly support organizations that do worthwhile charitable efforts for causes I believe in and allow their customers to do so AND give us good deals!

Yay came in and had my mind set on buying something because I saw some stuff online! A very sweet and honest Pinay was helping me and we struck up cool convo about all kinds of stuff. She let me know about this awesome Tea Tree deal and wow I couldn’t believe I saved like almost $ 70. So 8 months later, you are guys are still rockstars! yay!

Like all cosmetic stores, the associates here try to push their products. «And how about this, have you tried this, we have a special on this…» I was being chased down by a kiosk guy outside their store & was suprised when the associate inside told him to leave me alone! Wow. I love their blue corn facial but it seems to be a best seller, they can’t seem to keep them on the shelf, selling out before I can get in there to get a new jar. I recently started using their Wise Woman face cream. The night cream is so smooth on the face, like soy cream. It’s so much better than the useless, watered down $ 150 jars of Shisheido creams I’ve tried in the past.

I dunno why I come here. This shit is expensive, but because no bunnies were harmed and they support fair trade(I think), I decide I’ll support them. After shave and facial cleanser: $ 26.04? Do I want to spend $ 2 more and get free shower gel? WTF?!? NO!!! I’ll be 3-stars worth of pissed off again in about 3 months when this shit runs out.

I came here to look for those fragranted oils that use with candles to make your room smell good, and boy do they smell good! However, when I first came in here, I had not a clue how to use them. You have to buy this entire set of tea candles and then the fragrance oil, and then this little thing that you put the candle into and it spreads the scent. Confusing. However, the lady who helped me out was extremely kind and helpful. The green tea scented oil smells soooo good and relaxing. Definitely my favorite!

You are reading the second iteration of this review, the original being a snarky dig at the Stonestown Body Shop. After much soul-searching(!), I’ve decided to leave the original 2-star rating and toss the snarkiness. You see, the Stonestown Body Shop is basically no different from any other Body Shop, and like reviewing your neighborhood McDonald’s, there’s just not that much difference between them that matters. Like other Body Shops, the Stonestown branch basically conforms with the Body Shop formula of great products sold by under-paid and overly-aggressive junior sales folk who consistently drive people nuts. So while I can’t take much pride in providing a «First Review» of what is essentially a rubber-stamp operation you can find in multiple locations around town, I can sleep easier tonight and save my snarkiness for a more unique and deserving establishment somewhere in my future.
