I’m so happy I live by here. Mandana always knows how to cut my hair and the prices are great for the area. I love talking with her about the neighborhood too. My go to haircut spot in SF.

How this place manages high reviews is beyond me! From what I can see the majority are men getting their hair cut here, and I problably should have taken the hint from that alone. The lady who works there cut my hair a few months back and it was so horrendous that when I got home I noticed one side completely longer than the other!!! I was horrified since I had never had someone do such a horrible job in my cutting my curly hair before. I called and told her Id come back to get it evened out. She said fine, and I couldnt believe she began cutting my hair while it was completely dry!!! she hacked off way more than I wanted to «fix» the crooked job before. I guess the saying rings true, that you get what you pay for. It was cheap and by all means horrific. The worst part is that since my hair is curly it looked much shorter than I would have ever wanted it! I hd to grow it out and now almost 7 months later I have enough hair to get it evened out by a professional. My review is solely for the hair cut, not the service. They clearly dont cut womens hair here, so gals take my word, AVOID this place! especially if you have curly hair.

If you’re looking for a quick, walk-in haircut, that’s both stylish and a can’t-beat deal, you’ve come to the right place. Mondana has been cutting my hair for years. Even when I lived in Southern California, I would wait to get my hair cut by her when I would go back to SF to visit family in the neighborhood. Mondana is a rare talent: a lady who can sit you down and turn a messy mop into a stylish cut in 10 minutes. I always go to her before an important event, date, etc. and she never fails. And company is worth the price of the cut alone. Always in a good mood and making you laugh. You can’t find a great haircut for under $ 20 in SF anymore — except at The Buzz!

Very friendly local hairdressers. Had my haircut just as I like it. Will return to The buzz next time I need a haircut.

The Buzz is the best deal in SF I’ve found so far for a consistent job-well-done. Walk-ins are welcome which is nice and convenient. Also don’t tell Mandana because I didn’t want to put any pressure on her, but I came to The Buzz before my wedding, and specifically her. She’s that good.

This is the worst place I have ever been to. I came in and asked if I they had time to cut a good chunk of my hair. I told them that I wanted to donate my hair and that it had to be at least 10inches. My hair was below my hips so I knew I had more than enough hair to donate it and keep it long. The guy had no idea how to cut hair. He had me stand up and just cut my hair. I told him that to donate hair it has to be tied first. He said he didn’t understand. One side was longer than the other. As soon as he cut it I told him that I told him I wanted it below my shoulders. He said well what do you want me to do now. I sat down and he said can you stand up so I can even your hair. I said I never been to a salon where I had to stay standing to get a hair cut. While he was cutting my mom noticed he was shaking and was still uneven I told him I was uncomfortable and would like to stop. He said fine and that he wouldn’t charge me. He didn’t even care to cut my hair and didn’t even seem to know what he was doing. Please stay away from this place.

Really great place! Was a bit crowded when I went in but the haircut was quick and looks great. They made sure that I was satisfied with the cut and it was a pretty laid back atmosphere. Haircut was only $ 19(not including tip) for a trim which is pretty cheap. I will definitely be back.

Mandana has been fantastic both before and after taking over the business. She listens and does as you ask and makes you look better than you actually do :). Cuts my son’s hair as well — he loves her too.

This place was actually opened in 1982! And was renovated and rebranded a few years back, it’s just perfect. I’ll be back.

Mandana is the best. I go to her every two weeks to get my haircut and to catch up with her. I’ve never had a bad experience, and I love the fact that the place is no frills — you get in, get your haircut, have a down-to-earth conversation and then leave. I love this place so much and hope Mandana stays a fixture in the neighborhood for years.

Fantastic barber shop for men and women! Best in Noe Valley in my opinion. Excellent quality and very reasonable pricing. Also, Mandana is one of the nicest people you’ll meet, and is a really great conversationalist during cuts! If you have to wait a bit, Café XO is right across the street, an excellent little café.

I used to travel from SF to Berkley every month, for a $ 60 cut and a 2 – 3 hour wait. Now I walk a mile from home, for a $ 25 cut(incl. tip) for the same, if not a better clip. I keep coming back, and feel better about making a switch to The Buzz in Noe everytime. both financially and satisfactually.

If you’re not having your hair cut by Mandana, you’re missing out. She’s a great person, gives a great haircut, and is charging ridiculously little money for a cut. There may be a wait, but she’s worth it.

No jokes in this review, Mandana cuts a beautiful head of hair and is a genuinely good person to boot. If you live in the neighborhood and care about supporting local small business you should get your hair cut here. OK, one joke: What do you call a black guy who flies an airplane? A pilot, you racist bastard.

Mandana is a rock star! She just makes my hair look good. I don’t have to think about it much and I just let her do her thing. And it turns out better than any other place I’ve tried — so I’ve learned not to try any other place! On top of that, I always have a good time taking to her. Trust me. Just go and see for yourself!

Great local spot with wonderful character. Been going here for four years and never gotten a bad haircut. Mandana is a real sweetheart who offers to give you a free trim(if you’re a regular) around your neck to keep your do looking clean and tight a week later because she cares about her customers and wants you to come back. And I most certainly do. Update: The place is now called The Buzz!
