Still Amazing. When looking at negative reviews I like to look at the persons past reviews, which is what I did here. So I can decide wether or not to trust them. For example if you give Joes of Westlake 5 stars I’m not trusting a thing you say.

Spread the word. don’t spend money here. I assume that the only qualification for parking at STREATFOODPARK is the ability to pay the fee. That is too bad, and it hurts the scene. Management should be more picky. This truck does not deserve to share space with the other awesome trucks here. Their awful food is bad for the profits and reputation of the whole park. Just imagine if you wandered into Streat Park for the first time and chose to buy lunch from this particular truck. If you thought this truck represented the general quality of the park, you would never come back. But the SF Streatfood Park has mostly awesome trucks. Some of the best and most innovative anywhere. That is why it is such a shame and so difficult to understand why they allow such a low quality sham of a truck to park there and sully their reputation.

Their food is awesome. I ordered the blacken snapper sandwich with Cajun salsa, popcorn shrimp and lemonade with basil. Sooooo damn gooood. Everything was beyond expectations. I recommend the Fish Tank, their menu is good and their food is amazing. Yummy and you won’t be disappointed.

As others have said, lots of bun compared to the actual seafood, which should be the star of the dish. I ordered the grilled red snapper sandwich that came on a perfectly toasted bun, tartar sauce, shredded lettuce, and a thin piece of fish. The sandwich had good flavor, simple, but the price due to the small amount of fish. Maybe that is the cost of wild caught seafood.

Had the crab corn chowder, and it tasted like salt water with corn. Crab sandwich is nothing to rave about. Majority of it was bread.

I heart the Fish Tank Truck. You can always count on fresh fish — especially their shrimp and crab. If you get a chance to ever go to one of their crab feeds — do it! Great portions and super fresh. My go-to meal: Prawn bites. What I want to cheat on my diet: Sammy’s Sub(shrimp or crab in a great sauce on fresh sourdough bread) When I just want a taste of the fish tank to satisfy a craving: Their soup of the day-that is always fresh and homemade every day. Their corn and crab soup is sooo good. I recommend the truck to everyone!

I wanted to like this, but honestly it was all incredibly bland and utterly missed the point of what it was trying to do. The crab cake sandwich was full of filler and just tasted like a breading patty. Was there any crab in it? I couldn’t taste any. Popcorn shrimp was massively over breaded and some of them were simply balls of breading. Good breading, but just… breading. That’s not what we ordered. The shrimp roll was massively overdressed with this weird orange sauce so much that you couldn’t taste the shrimp. Which is of course the whole point. It was also filled with extraneous things like lettuce and tomatoes which just don’t belong on a sandwich like this. They’re trying to make it into something it’s not. The corn and crab chowder was this weird green color(was there any cream in it? Not apparently) and had nice pieces of crab but overall was just meh. The best thing we had was the lemon and limeade. Both were nicely tart not too sweet and the basil and mint in them was fresh and tasty. But overall the food was pretty bad. And seriously cash only? Come on. Get Square and an iPod touch.

After seeing the very noticeable Fish Tank truck all around town, I finally tried them for lunch one day at the StreatFood Park when my other favorites weren’t available. I ordered their ‘Special of the Day’- the blackened snapper sandwich, which seems to often be their special or at least on the menu, from reading other reviews. After a short wait, I received my sandwich accompanied by a hearty & tasty mixed green salad with what I believe was a balsamic-based dressing. The sandwich was A-Ok– quite flavorful and tasty actually, with a nice bun and cooked well. It wasn’t huge, and maybe I left a bit hungry, but regardless it was enjoyable and I would order it again. At $ 12, the value was A-Ok– not a screaming deal but good. Perhaps the cabbage/fish ration was a bit off in the sandwich? Regardless, my experience was positive, and I could tell excellent quality of ingredients were being used. I’ll return for sure, but alas the Fish Tank truck didn’t quite crack my upper echelons of food trucks with this first experience.

This review will probably be useless to most people because I only got the Soup of the Day and who gets soup at a seafood truck? This girl! But for the 0.1% of you who can relate to my soup obsession and also love mushrooms and truffles, you might want to follow Fish Tank’s social media channels to find out when they will next be offering their Wild Mushrooms and White Truffle Oil. Heaven in a bowl! My boyfriend and I couldn’t help also appreciating how perfect the temperature was – the epitome of «piping hot» where you can gulp as fast as you want without burning anything, but still get that warm, fuzzy, relaxing buzz that comes from hot liquids. Mmmmmm!

Had the Dungeness Crab Cake sandwich at the SOMA StrEat Food Park… it was divine! The roll, the crab(a few too many peppers for my liking, but still great) cake, the Louie dressing and the iceberg lettuce just all came together for me in Harmony. Keep on Trucking Fish Tank!

I REALLY wanted to like this food truck. I came to Soma StrEatFood Park with some friends for their beer week event and nice friday night off and I was so excited to see Trumer Pils beer battered fish and chips with chipotle tartar sauce. Sounds amazing, right? I thought so, too. And so did a lot of other people. Lots of people in line were raving about how good this food truck is, and how it is worth the wait. So I stuck it out. 25 minutes later, I got to order my fish and chips. 25 minutes and the line wasn’t even that long, but they were clearly struggling to get the food out so the woman taking orders kept disappearing to help expedite. Okay, so a little frustrated, worried that my friends would wait and their food would get cold, but still excited for my food. 20MORE minutes later and I am still waiting for my food. Meanwhile, they have run out of red snapper and only have prawns left. Lots of grumbling people step off the line to go order elsewhere. They finally call my number and I take my box back to my table where my friends are mostly through their dinners. Open it up. They got the order wrong. They gave me prawns. I can’t eat prawns. It is not a preference thing, I could not just suck it up and eat the delicious smelling prawns. I cannot eat prawns. BUTHEREISTHEKICKER. Not only did they get my order wrong, but when i went back to tell them, the woman said«Sorry, another customer took your food» She returned my money and left me with no food and yet another line to wait in for my second choice selection. I get that they are busy. I get that they may be overwhelmed. I can even forgive that they messed up my order and were already out of fish. But nobody else took my order. I took my food. Order #89. They called #89, I picked up #89. They just plain got my order wrong. So suck it up lady and take the blame. Apologize sincerely and take ownership for your harried service and understaffed food truck. Don’t blame it on another customer. It was your fault. In the end I got nice and drunk on pitchers of Trumer and had a delicious veggie mushu burrito from Kung Fu Tacos. They got my order exactly right and it was less than 3 minutes from getting in line to getting my food. Kung Fu Tacos, you have my service. The Fish Tank Truck, get your acts together and take responsibility for your mistakes. I bet your food is wonderful, but your service leaves a lot to be desired.

The Dungeness Crab Cake Sandwich is a decent choice for a light lunch. The crab was flaky and flavorful but a thin patty. Unfortunately, it will weigh heavy on your wallet.

Encountered this truck on my first ever visit to the SoMa StrEat Food Park. I am a SUCKER for anything crab so I was elated to see a Dungeness crab cake sandwich! Please believe I was all over that. The good thing about this truck is that you can pick your own sauce. I picked Cajun tartar. Not at all spicy. Really mild. I was hoping that since it was a $ 12 sandwich that it would be amazing. Yeah… it wasn’t. I really hoped it would be, but I could barely taste the crab and the bun was a lot larger than my cake so after consuming only the parts of the sandwich that had crab, I was left with probably a 1⁄3 of bread. Don’t think I’d come back.

When I go to a restaurant, the fish of the day always interests me. FishTank Truck takes this idea and puts it on wheels. They offer fresh wild fish and crab cakes in sandwiches and salads, along with seafood bites and soup of the day. Salads and sandwiches come with your choice of housemade sauce. * Fish of the day(red snapper) sandwich($ 10) grilled or blackened: I selected a blackened preparation with Cajun tartar sauce. The sandwich was a good size with plenty of fish. The soft warm bun was nice and didn’t get soggy. They didn’t skimp on the fish, which consisted of several large pieces. The blackening spice didn’t pack enough punch and the Cajun tartar sauce was good but also mild. The shredded lettuce was fine(fresh) but boring. The fish wasn’t dry but it wasn’t tender or moist either. Flavors were pleasant but ultimately lacking. * Limeade with mint($ 3): The refreshing limeade had with bold mint flavor and wasn’t too sweet Cash only.

(See pics) Review #1210. Really wanted to love this place, especially they served wild caught salmon and red snapper the day I visited. For $ 10, the wild caught red snapper sandwich was with a filet that was on the just okay portion. Yes, I know the fish was not gigantic but then the price should be matching the size and flavor. The cajun flavor was not there and the fish itself was more plain and was only lightly grilled. The bun was very big, guess it was to compensate the smaller fish. The shrimp cocktail mango salsa might be better if it was more chilled as it was lukewarm and the juice was a bui thick. The lime-nade was a bit too sugary for my taste. $ 16 later, I was looking forward to the next meal quickly.

Fish Tank sells seafood from the sea in various forms. they feature a fish(catch) of the day which shows up in all their entrees… locale: soma steeteats(6⁄28) menu:sandwiches, salads, fishbits(including soup), eats: bay shrimp cocktail(3) –4 ounces of tiny cooked baby shrimp, tender but not shrimp flavor tasty –with papaya, mango, & onions. tasty and interesting calamari fritti(7) «hand breaded & seasoned with oregano and salt & pepper» –fried squid with tartar sauce –as good as most eateries. sea notes: –food good but not wowed, thus 3.5 stars –very friendly, personal service –food appears made to order.

I’ve seen this truck in the Brisbane Marina(Sierra Pt) before but never got a chance to try them out. Most recenlty saw them on Sunday at the Burlingame Farmers Market and once I saw their shrimp ceviche special had to try them out. The truck owner was actually one of the chefs from Scoma’s in SF before. * BAYSHRIMPCEVICHE — $ 3 A decent amount of tiny bay shrimp mixed in this papaya, mango, jalapeño salsa, there was also some cilantro and red onion in there. Decent amount of sweet and spicy going on. Not bad but I’m just not hooked. I could just imagine if they used grilled prawns or maybe some ahi instead. Hmm, just might have to make my own ceviche/poke.

The Fishtank truck was making its debut at OtG. And its ambiguous name had me look up their menu. When I saw crab cake sandwich, I was sold. I ended up with the dungeness crab and bay shrimp cake sandwich. It was served like a burger. One huge crab shrimp cake patty topped with a little slaw and my choice of cajun tartar sauce. I gobbled the whole thing up. Yum! I would’ve preferred the crab/shrimp cake to have a more crispy exterior and the cajun tartar sauce more spicy. Plus, $ 11 was a bit pricey just for the sandwich itself.

Every Thursday night food trucks gather near my apartment in Hayes Valley for Off the Grid — Hayes Edition. I know this is old news to everyone else, but food trucks are getting CRAZY these days. Fish? From a truck? Cool. I ordered the daily fish special which was a Blackened Wild Red Snapper Sandwich(more like a burger since it was on a bun). The lady taking my order suggested I pair it with the Papaya/Jalapeño Salsa. I really only have myself to blame for this one… I don’t like papaya or jalapenos. But since I always assume the employees know best, I didn’t realize my mistake until it was too late. That said, I liked the salsa more than I thought I would. The papaya was actually quite good. I just wish that it hadn’t overpowered the taste of the fish. For now I’ll rate the Fish Take Truck 3 stars, but I think with more prudent ordering choices, it has 4 star potential. I will be back!

I always like seeing new Food Trucks opening, especially ones that separate themselves from the crowd. Fish Tank is one of those trucks. Instead of making some type of Latin\Asian fusion food, they sell good quality seafood sandwiches, salads, and bites. Here’s what I ordered: Dungeness Crab Cake Salad($ 13) ( ) The salad was good and the Crab Cake was delicious! Grilled Marinated Wild Prawns($ 8) ( ) The Prawns were cooked well and had flavor, but I wouldn’t shell out another $ 8 for them again since they didn’t really excite me too much. I did see what my coworkers ordered like their Fried Calamari, Popcorn Shrimp, and Fresh Fish of the Day salad(Snapper) and I had that«I’ve should’ve ordered that instead» feeling. Maybe next time. Overall, I thought everything was good. But I wished their portion sizes were a little bigger.
