The Tatar Tots and the Doughnuts are NOT to be missed. The patio in the back is awesome, especially when the weather is nice but even if it’s a little cool, not to worry as there are plenty of outdoor heaters. As of the date of this review 6⁄22 their happy hour goes till 6:30pm on weekdays(i’m sure it’s the standard Mon — Thurs) but the food specials are excellent, just wish they had more drink specials include.

Nice place, but it’s not worth the price. I had the mini burgers. You get three burgers, slightly larger than a silver dollar. The apple pie is tasty, but not $ 10 tasty. The pie is a decent portion. It should come with more ice cream. Meh.

The food and service were great! But the drunk bar crowd was a little rowdy for 7:30 on a Sunday… Also a little pricey.

The food here was really good I have been trying different burgers from all over the place lately and they lived up to expectations. The sticky buns were out this world. Me and my girl tried them just because they sounded nice. But the sticky buns are something worth trying if you like sweet things. According my girl the bloody marry was the second best she has had. But will definitely go there again after checking other spots on the marina.

Really good place in an amazing location. I came here for brunch on a Sunday and there wasn’t a long wait which was nice. The drinks were great, I had a Bloody Mary. It could have been a bit stronger but besides that it was delicious. Then we got the sticky buns to share and they were DELICIOUS! They came with 4 small ones and it was a perfect amount to share. Then i got the chilaquiles and its was pretty good. Not the best. There wasn’t a lot to it but the flavor was good. My boyfriend got the tipsy burger and it looked really good! He said that is was good too. Overall this place was pretty good just a bit expensive for what you get. The atmosphere is really nice and of course it is a plus that it’s right on chestnut street so you can do some shopping afterwards! The service here was okay. There was a period where our waitress was not coming to check up on us but besides that she was very friendly and helpful.

Met friends for brunch on a Saturday. Food was excellent. I had Huevos Rancheros and my husband had the Goat Cheese-Chive Scramble. Both were prepared well. My husband noted that the scramble were French Scrambled eggs, which few restaurants do. Our friends both had salads. They said that the salads were excellent and not over-dressed. We had bloody Mary’s — which were heavy on horseradish, which we really like. Service was appropriate, attentive but not hovering. The serving sizes were extremely generous. This was our first time and we will definitely return.

Was in San Fransisco for a long weekend getaway with a few girlfriend’s. My friend’s and I love brunch and being in one of the best foodie cities in the country we had a difficult time choosing a brunch spot. After much debate we settled on the Tipsy Pig known for their amazing Bloody Mary’s. I’m a bubbly mimosa girl so I passed on the Bloody Mary’s but my friend’s said it was delicious. We started with some beignets and smoked bacon Mac n cheese so yummy!!! I ordered the scramble with goat cheese and prosciutto amazing!!! FYI the tarter tots that came with my friend’s eggs Benedict we’re phenomenal. Consensus this was by far one of the best brunch’s that we’ve ever had. So if you’re in the San Fransisco area go to the Tipsy Pig it’s worth the long wait!!!

My first ever bar in San Fran and it did not disappoint. They have an extensive drink menu and while I didn’t eat, the food smelled amazing! They also have some yummy house cocktails that a couple of my girlfriends had and they not only looked yummy but they tasted great too. For me, my drink of choice for the night was Rosé. The ambiance was really cool as well. Lots of young professionals out for dinner and a predrink before the night got started. The décor is awesome as well. It should be noted, that for being such a busy bar(I mean, it was packed) the bartenders are on it. They are top notch, fast, and friendly. Overall this was a great intro to the San Fran bar scene!

This is such a great space and gets very crowded but the one time I actually came inside because my friend was already here the waitress seemed like she was in a rush to get us out. She kept asking us if we wanted to close the tab numerous times and this is after we’ve had rounds and rounds of drinks. We were sitting in a prime spot so maybe she just wanted to give the table to the many groups that were waiting but still my friends were spending bank here so keep the drinks pouring! Oh and just a tidbit the other times I’ve tried to come here they weren’t open… even though it was during their opening hours on Unilocal.I would go by and it would be empty and pitch dark. Not sure what’s going on…

One of my favorite bars in the Marina. They make the best drink ever, STRAWBERRYFIELDS! So good. I love the outdoor seating too, especially at night. So pretty with all the lights on. Don’t worry about it being too cold, they have heating lamps. The food is actually pretty good. I like their fries and mini finger food. Great addition to their yummy drinks.

Worst service ever: — We had to wait half an hour to be seated and the bar was almost empty. — We were requested to show our IDs several times. — The manager couldn’t stop looking at us. — They overcharged me for paying with credit card, and I’ve just discovered they charged me more tip than the amount I tipped. — They sit us in the worst table in front of the kitchen, being all the others empty. — Once seated, the waitress ignored us and she only took our note after I complained. And sure there are more thinks I don’t remember…

My girlfriend and I were looking to load up on some hearty food before a night of partying at a concert so we swung by Tipsy Pig. Ambiance: The neighborhood around here is super popular and has tons of bars/restaurants so be prepared to have difficulty with parking(more than what you would expect from SF in genereal). After we parked and walked over my girlfriend and I were immediately seated which was pleasantly surprising because the restaurant was packed. I’m glad I didn’t have to wait for a table because I was starving at that point and the whole place just smelled amazing. Like any typical bar in SF the place is cramped and the atmosphere is fast paced. There is definitely that exciting and crazy aspect to most SF bars here and I could definitely see this being a fun place to hang out at on a Friday night. Food: My girlfriend and I were starving so we went to town on the menu and ordered four dishes: The pulled pork sliders, Ceviche, Bacon Mac and Cheese and a burger. We also ordered some drinks to get the night started. Our food came out real quickly which was great since we were hungry and on a schedule. The bacon mac and cheese was rich, cheesy and packed with bacon. The ceviche was very flavorful, refreshing and packed with tons of seafood. The pulled pork sliders were meaty, delicious and served between Hawaiian rolls. The Fried Chicken Sandwich was fried perfectly, juicy, topped with coleslaw and served with sweet potato fries. The portions of food seem small but they were all actually really filling. By the time my girlfriend and I finished the food and drinks we were absolutely dying. I had to help my girlfriend finish her last sliders and it was a painful but delicious experience. My favorite thing that we ordered was the pulled pork sliders but everything was amazing overall. Service: Servers were very friendly and patient with us despite how packed and incredibly busy the place was. Our drinks and food came out quickly and the servers checked on us regularly without being too overbearing. Overall Experience: I really enjoyed my meal at the Tipsy Pig. This place met and exceeded my expectations for the three things I rate any restaurant on: Ambiance, Food, Service. I will admit that this place is very pricey but its nothing to be surprised about given that you are dining in SF. Regardless of the price I really enjoyed my meal and experience here. I would definitely come back again.

Came here with a couple friends and am soooo glad I did! I’ve been wanting to come for years for the food, but it’s always been too crowded, so I was super excited we were seated immediately. We sat on the patio in the back and it’s really nice, and I was surprised at how warm it was. One friend was running late, so we ordered drinks and I just had to have the Strawberry Fields. I was a little disappointed in the flavor and honestly felt like there wasn’t a drop of alcohol in it. All I tasted was strawberry and soda water, but maybe I hyped it up too much before trying it. Anyway, when the last friend arrived I ordered the tuna app and the Mac and cheese. The tuna was nice and fresh, the sesame seed sauce worked well and I freaking loved the taro chips. I always try to buy them in stores, but can never seem to find them, so I was super excited to see they accompanied the tuna. Solid dish that is perfect for sharing, and the mashed avocado on the bottom was a nice touch. Now to the Mac and cheese: this is what Mac and cheese is supposed to taste like! It was cheesy, creamy and had a nice crunchy texture on top. And let’s not forget the bacon, which makes everything better ;-) I can’t wait to bring the hubby because he’s never had a great Mac and cheese. The service was super friendly and on top of everything. I really appreciated that she noticed I ran out of taro chips and offered to bring me some more, and of course I took her up on it! This place lived up to the hype and I will definitely be back… soon!

I would definitely come here more often if I lived in the Marina! I’ve only been here late so haven’t experience anything on their menu, but I really like their bar scene. Cool spot to hang out, they have a heated patio which is great for winter. It gets packed on Friday/Saturday nights so you probably won’t get a table unless you’re there early. Make sure you check out the strawberry fields, best drink at the bar. I could drink those all day.

This place has delicious food and a cozy atmosphere! Perfect for brunch. We came with a large group and they were happy to accommodate us. I ordered the eggs Benedict and had a «Strawberry Fields» specialty drink. The garlic potatoes that came with the meal were crispy and super tasty. I also tried my friend’s course the huevos rancheros! Everything on that plate was delicious. Guacamole, beans and even the tortilla had delectable flavor. MUSTTRY: Mac and Cheese! Mercy lawd!!! It had a flakey bacon flavored crust that just melted in your mouth. The servers were helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend this place!

We sampled a few dishes and a few cocktails during our recent dinner at The Tipsy Pig. I found the cocktail menu pleasantly varied and comprehensive, however the drinks themselves failed to wow(still good, just not great). The beer selection is above average, although they could use a few more taps IMO. We started out with the burrata as our first course. It’s topped with more accoutrements than I’m used to be, but it seemed that it may have been to mask the cheese itself which was not so great. I found the consistency to be too elastic and it just generally lacked flavor. The fried kale and broccolini on top was a nice touch. Entrees were chicken enchiladas for me, the burger for my wife, and an order of brussels sprouts to share. The chicken enchiladas were very good; they were the right amount of crispy with a nice bit of avocado and pico on top, though the chicken could have been just a bit more tender. My wife loved the burger, which was loaded up with caramelized onions and white cheddar, and tots on the side. It pains me to say the brussels sprouts were the star of the meal, but they were SO good. They’re done up with a lemon aioli and bacon crumbles(of course), and there was a little romanesco broccoli in the mix as well. We could have easily polished off a second order — they really were that good. I would definitely return in the future if I’m in the area. Location is ideal for Marinites(i.e. very close to GGB), and the staff was friendly.

Their salmon tacos are the bomb dot com! Also gotta get their spicy tuna tartare because that ponzu is everything and then some. I’ve tried most of their menu items and have yet to be disappointed. Their brunch is also on point but make sure you come early to avoid waiting in line. I recommend sitting outside for brunch if it isn’t too cold. always more fun to people watch while eating and drinking your life away. It gets crazy on the weekends but it is a gastropub after all so craziness and crazies are to be expected. Bathrooms are a bit of a mess(quite an understatement really) but if you’re tipsy enough, you wouldn’t mind all the pigsty ;]

Came here just for drinks on New Year’s Eve. Didn’t try any of the food, but was pretty pleased with the drink experience. We had the Strawberry Fields cocktail, which was delicious(couldn’t taste the alcohol at all), and pretty decently priced. Other than that, went for well drinks and were satisfied with what we got. The bartenders were efficient and the wait wasn’t too long even though the place was packed. Good atmosphere — I could definitely see myself grabbing a meal or having casual drinks here again. Even though it is categorized as a bar, it has more of a lounge feel to it. At 10PM, there were diners having full meals at tables and at the bar. The tables were mostly all booths that groups of friends could squeeze into, and there was also an outdoor patio area that was a lot less crowded. People come here to be able to hang out with friends and chat, not down shots and dance around.

What a sad experience. The dishes are predictable but nothing memorable. One of the easiest thing to do for any establishment is to be clean and tidy. After many visits our group finally discussed a few sad realities. 1) The bathrooms are consistently nasty. How can this be a difficult priority 2) The staff is spread too thin and some are less than knowledgeable about the menu. 3) The location while good has many other options that are a better value 4) Several really nice people work here but they even know there is a lot of room for improvement based on a few remarks made in their dash to expedite dishes, take orders, and answer questions. 5) The backyard patio is a draw and is quite comfortable and good for small groups. The Tipsy Pig has some great people working there but the day to day operations of this Marina gastropub is far from what I imagine is their own expectations. We will try again after the Spring and see if the Tipsy Pig has improved. We hope it does.

Came to San Francisco to visit my friend for her birthday. While she was hungover and sleeping the next day after her celebrations, my boyfriend and I decided to take advantage of being in one of the most beautiful parts of SF and wanted to check out a local spot for brunch. After reading a few reviews, I decided on the Tipsy Pig because I loved the name, the menu looked right up my alley and I was craving a good cocktail. We sat in the back patio which was super cute. I loved the ambience on a clear, beautiful SF day. I had a hard time picking which drink I wanted due to such positive reviews for the Strawberry Fields, but decided on the Spring Fling(Square One Cucumber Vodka, fresh basil, lemon, simple syrup & soda water) which was perfect! Smooth, crisp and refreshing! I have since remade the drink at home for myself because it was just THAT good. I ordered the eggs benedict on their thyme cheddar biscuits with crispy garlic fingerling potatoes and my boyfriend ordered the breakfast sandwich. The food was great. Service was fine from what I remember(I am writing this review a little later). No complaints. Would definitely like to come back when I am in the area!

A great place to watch a game or meet friends for a casual dinner. They have a great craft beer selection and very popular Margaritas. I also like that they have mini beers; 10 oz pours they call Piglets. My personal favorite IPA, Blind Pig from Russian River is on tap. The food is pretty damn good too. High-end bar food that if anything, is a bit too run of the mill. Very few options other than the Burger, which is darn good but comes in at $ 16 without any add-ons but does include fries. The place will most likely be crowded but don’t be scared to have a cocktail(or a piglet) or 2 on the back patio while you wait. Brunch is a great option but I think you have to camp out the night before to get a table. But if you do, the Dutch Pancake or Little Gem Salad are great options.

My boyfriend and I were going to a concert on a Saturday night and we wanted hearty food and a good buzz before heading there. What better place can do that for you? TIPSYPIG!!! We arrived at 6:30pm for a early dinner and the place looked packed! We were worried the wait would be long but the hostess seated us promptly. The waiter and waitress were also very accommodating. They gave us good recommendations and checked on us frequently. We ordered: Mac and cheese, pulled pork bbq sliders, ceviche, and a burger, along with one drink each for the both of us. We both enjoyed our food, but the portions were not big at all. Also, I thought it was cute how they serve their drinks in a mason jar. Total including tips was a total of $ 110. I thought it was a little pricey, since I could get a steak meal with the same price. I would come back again for the good food and drinks, but it’s just a little too pricey.

Brunch here is tasty. Too bad the outdoor patio has most seats directly in the sun. It’s not too bad unless you’re in the middle of an Indian Summer in SF. Also, make a reservation if you want to be seated. Otherwise, I’m sure you’ll be waiting for awhile. Everyone’s food looked really good. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich which came with sweet potato fries. We also shared some puffy beignets. Prices were okay for the area. Overall, I’d probably stop in here again if I had a rezzie and a reason to. Check it out, it’s one of the better options in the area.

Had dinner here with a few friends the other night. It’s a cute quaint restaurant with a bar in the front. It was a nice atmosphere and I was really glad it wasn’t super loud in there. If there’s one thing I can’t stand, it’s eating in a bar/restaurant where I can’t have a normal toned conversation and I have to yell to the person sitting next to me. Okay, I went on a tangent. Onto the food! To my surprise, I ordered the chicken tenders. The description really caught my eye so I just went for it. I usually never order plain items like that but there was something about chicken tenders, mashed potatoes, and sauteed kale that really caught my eye. Boy, that was probably the best chicken tenders plate I have ever had! The chicken tenders were not overly greasy, sauteed kale on a bed of mashed potatoes with a side of gravy was simply perfection. Who can even write about chicken tenders, seriously? They did a great job executing that plate. My other friends ordered the ribs and gnocchi and everyone was satisfied with their food. We also ordered the strawberry fields, cucumber mule, and some alcoholic lemonade drinks– all were pretty tasty. I’d come back to try more dinner items and maybe even brunch on a Sunday morning.

3.5 stars? This place is pretty good. The ambience was chill and the gastropub décor was great. They were also pretty nice about seating our friends at a table of 8 when only 3 people in our party were there. I had the Mini Sliders and they were actually pretty tasty. The meat had good flavor and the cheese melted down well. It was kind of pricy, however, and the same can be said about the burger. Both entrees rang in at $ 15. The boyfriend enjoyed his Tipsy Burger to a similar degree, but added blue cheese for $ 1 more. The table shared an order of Pretzel Bites, which were good because we were starving, but otherwise not too remarkable. These were $ 10. I wish they had a larger selection of beer on tap, but the pints were priced fair. Service overall was friendly, a tad slow, but accommodating. I wouldn’t hesitate to come back if I were in the area, I just think the prices were a bit high.

Ah, the tipsy bro. It’s hard to hate you. You’re like the Dallas cowboys of bars… You have such a negative stigma towards you. All of the boos & hisses are aimed at you so I feel obliged to do the same… But I don’t know why. You have never done anything to me. Bar bullying is SOOOOOO2011. I cant even.(AMIRITEWHITEGIRLS?!) Like any marina bar, the tipsy bro attracts its… err… interesting clientele. Post-yoga gals, post-sloshball-in-the-park bros itching for a good time(and possibly itching for other reasons). The drinks are strong, the bartenders are nice and dat patio doe. It’s rare that sf is warmer than 75 degrees… but when it is so, look no further than the tipsy pig for a nice patio to drink away your sorrows(and your softball loss). I haven’t tried the food nor have I come at nights, which seem to be the reoccurring weak points, but for now… You’ve earned your stripes ol’ chap. Wear them proudly. Tip: try and score the front two-top table by the windows facing chestnut. Always a show.

Omg, the Strawberry Fields drink is like sex in your mouth! It’s soooooooo good!!! It tastes really fresh and is really easy to drink. It has strawberry purée, strawberries, and lime juice in it and is one of the best drinks I’ve had at a bar. There’s a reason why this drink is so popular. I came here on a Saturday afternoon while bar hopping with some friends. We all loved the Strawberry Fields, so we each had 2 of them before going to the next bar. Even the guys loved this drink. This place is really packed on Saturday afternoons and attracts a young crowd. We were able to snatch a table inside after 5 minutes. They also have outdoor seating. It’s a good place to grab drinks and catch up with your friends. Sometimes there’s a line to get in even in the afternoon since it’s a pretty popular bar. I would come here just for the Strawberry Fields drink any day!
