I’ve been seeing Dr. Chong since I was a child. He’s always attentive, caring and professional. I used to get eye infections due to contacts and he would be the first person I would call. He would always see me right away and be able to refer to a specialist that same day. Great guy and could not recommend him enough!

I’ve never experienced such a mean person before. I literally just got off the phone with the receptionist. I was calling as a new patient to set up an apt to check out my eye because it’s in pain and i cant tell if it’s a scratch or infection… basically I just wanted to get it checked out and I had my apt and the lady called me back and said that Dr chong can’t see me if it’s a scratch I need to go somewhere else… then I said Im not sure what it is Im just in pain. I heard her telling him in the background and I heard him YELL back at her and she came on the phone and said if you’re in pain go to the ER… I honestly couldn’t believe how rude they were. After calling my insurance and evereything they tell me this at the last min… I read the reviews on here, but I tried to bypass them, but I regret it. DON’T GOHERE! There are many other eye doctors on the other street with good reviews!!!

I picked Dr. Chong because he was really close to my house and took my insurance but I ended up really liking him and his office. He is a really nice guy, very pleasant and personable. He was thorough but also quick and to the point. I was also impressed that when he found out I have an almost 2 year old, he asked if I was still nursing(which I was) to make sure we skip any drops just to be on the safe side. The office is clean and cozy, the ONLY complaint is that you need to walk up a few stairs to get to the office which was only an issue because I took a stroller with me once. I was worried I wouldn’t find any frames I liked because they seemed to have a small selection but I actually found so many I liked it was hard to decide. My glasses came back in only a few days and I couldn’t be happier with them and this practice.

I was referred to Thomas Chong O.D. by my optometrist, who was retiring to take care of elderly people. I was nervous because I had been with Dr. Alan Chan for many years — and he was so good; but I made an appointment with Dr. Thomas Chong to begin the tiring process of getting new contact lenses and new glasses. After a long and difficult course of action, I feel that Dr. Chong went out of his way to accommodate me with some very difficult lens changes and the results were totally amazing. He was patient, gentle, very professional and worked tirelessly to make sure that I was completely satisfied with the end result. Oh, and he has a marvelous sense of humor, so you will completely enjoy your visits with him.

I got flagged the first time around, so here is a short and completely honest take on Dr. Thomas Chong. I was looking for a doctor I can see eye to eye with(pun intended), however, Dr. Chong seems to belittle his patients, with little regard. In one specific instance, I told him my contacts were giving my spotty vision early in the mornings and he had NO remedies or any helpful information. I don’t like his cocky attitude and have since switched. He must have a thing for young Asian girls, b/c his secretaries are almost always that.

My wife and I both had glasses made by Dr. Chong and had a great experience — Dr. Chong was friendly, happy to provide detailed information, and treated us with respect. I’d have no problems recommending him

Dr. Chong has been my OD for several years now. When it comes to my eyes, I want the best practitioner available to examine them and once I find someone that I trust I tend to stick with them. I found this type of care, professionalism and expertise in Dr. Chong. My experience with him, from exam to prescription to eye care advice, has been consistently excellent and I would highly recommend him.

I went to him a year and a half ago. I felt lie he was very salesy. I went in with the intention of geting a new prescription and lenses for my existing frames — which should all be free cause I had vision coverage from my company. I don’t know how I got talked into getting new frames… which ended my bill at $ 200.

This guy is a real jerk, no better way to say it. I do not like having to deal with him for one second. Someone earlier described him as «cocky» and he really is. Hopefully he is a decent OD, but either way, Dr. Chong needs to go back to school and get a BA in Interpersonal Communication. Beside that, he doesn’t strike me as a nice guy.

Dr. Chong is a great optemetrist. He checks the eyes carefully but doesn’t really follow up when the glaucoma test comes back high. I had to go to an apathmalogist to be certain. He has very limited selection on frames.

i’m weary of all doctors. if you have a DR in front of your name, i’m instantly in attack mode. stick that medical equipment anywhere near me and i’ll bite your hand off. i promise. so, as you can see, it takes a really special type of doctor(no, not a psychiatrist) in order to deal with me as a patient. Dr. Thomas Chong not only deals with me, he actually made the whole experience enjoyable and painless. he didnt try to stick his fingers into my eyeballs to fish out my contacts. instead he gave me the option of taking them out myself. he moved through the exam quickly all the while chatting about innocuous things that really didnt involve eyeballs, glaucoma, and the fact that i’m as blind as a bat. towards the end of the exam, he postponed dialating my eyes until when i would go back for my glasses since i had driven there and he hadnt warned me about the whole pupil enlargement thing. another great thing is that he’s open on SATURDAYS… you know those days when you dont have work? its fabulous. he also has an extensive selection of really great looking frames. maybe i’ll actually start getting my eyes checked yearly… whoddathunk?
