Awesome turkey sandwiches. The potato salad was the best I’ve had in the city. The broccoli salad was great as well. 8.50 for a half sandwich and 2 salads. Big bang for your buck. Definitely will be back!

Yes, a friendly couple runs the place. Yes, the prices are quite reasonable, but beyond that, this deli is pretty average. I admit I haven’t had the salads, so maybe I’m missing out on some amazing stuff, but the sandwiches definitely leave a lot to be desired. Pretty decent size, but very bland and ordinary. Will fill you up, but that’s about it… The Tenderloin has plenty of problems, but a lack of decent lunch food options is not one of them. You can get a better(and cheaper) lunch in a number of spots nearby.

My colleague keeps recommending this place so I finally tried it out. The service was hands down spectacular. I told the husband-owner that it’s my first time, and he gave me a plate of 5 or 6 different salads to try out — all delicious! They didn’t feel overly greasy or bland. The price, although affordable, is a tad bit on the high end compared to Saigon and Lee’s Sandwich around the corner. But overall it’s a solid lunch place.

Good as a cheap lunch option. Half a sandwich with 2 types of salads cost $ 7.25. I had the chicken breast for my sandwich, it’s not a fancy sandwich, and it was big considering it was only half a sandwich. However, not much much flavor and the chicken was very dry. Lots of salad options and it includes tahini and some sort of hot sauce. Compared to the sandwich, my salads were a lot tastier.

I’m thrilled to have a new lunch place to go to. I can see why this place has been in business for so long. There is a line but it goes fast and the service is very friendly. I had the kale salad and the vegetarian sandwich, both of which were simple yet delicious. I can’t wait to try more of their sandwiches and salads.

Cash only mom n pop shop that makes hearty sandwiches and offers plenty of sides to complete your meal. Sandwiches and combinations are beyond affordable. The restaurant has been there forever, so you’ll see a lot of regulars in and out. Go for a come as you are, hearty meal that won’t break the bank.

This place will always hold a special spot in my heart, and my stomach. I’ve come in a bunch of times for lunch and each time I go, the owners are super sweet to me. They’re this old couple with a great sense of humor and know how to satisfy a hungry customer: they do not skimp on their portions, I guarantee you that! The best deal in my opinion is the ½ or ¼ roast chicken with 2 salads. It’s less than 10 $ and SOOOO filling. The chicken is so tender and it’s even better drizzled with their homemade hot sauce. And their salad selection is so extensive and everything is just so fresh. Like their fruit salad, not even one soggy grape(which i hate), or bad melon. But hands-down, their best salad is the avocado salad, which is basically 50% avocados, but it’s always the first salad to go out(around noon) so make sure you go early for that one it’s totally worth it! Other noteworthy salads include: potato salad, pesto salad, fruit salad, kale salad. Tip: you can split your salads as many ways as you want so definitely take advantage of that and try everything you want. Also, you can add their hot sauce or hummus to anything you want as long as you ask. If I had to eat at one place for the rest of my place, it would be here. Their menu is extensive, owners are wonderful people, generous portions, and amazing food, this place is a must!

The Turk & Larkin Deli, is on a sketchy block but the steady stream of customers are mostly via Larkin from the various government offices. My experience was very positive from the personable older couple that own /run the deli, to the prices that were very reasonable(Sandwiches were $ 5-+, Combos of Sandwiches & Salads were all under $ 10-), and they make a nice selection of Salads daily. My choice, the Avocado & Greek Salads that were both fresh and bright and the ½ Roast Chicken that was very well seasoned ‚ My surprise though was the popularity of the Salad Combos, 3 Salads $ 7, 4 Salads $ 9, and how quickly I was served(In and Out in about 5 minutes). If in the area I would definitely come back if I was wanting a Sandwich or a Yummy Home Style Salad,

What a pleasant lunch experience. Everything was so fresh and delicious — I will definitely be returning soon. I had the Kale salad, Avocado salad, 1 felafel and a side of chicken noodle soup — all delicious(total $ 7.70)!! Pluses: — Cheap — prices are inexpensive and you get your $$ worth — Service is fast — don’t be fooled by the long line, it moves quickly — So many choices of salads — all delicious! — Many vegeterian options — Great combos(4 salads; 3 salads; 2 salads and sandwich; 2 salads and soup, etc.) — The felafel is tasty! Minuses: — I added a little salt n pepper for more flavor, but that’s just me Don’t miss a stop into the Turk & Larkin Deli if you’re around the way!

Big fan of their avocado salad. Their brocolli salad was tasty as well. I haven’t been able to try their sandwiches, but have only heard compliments. Enjoyed their meatloaf(probably wouldn’t try it solely with their hot sauce next though… felt it was a bit lacking there). CASHONLY.

All things being considered, this is probably the best sandwich shop in the Bay Area. First of all, props to the husband and wife owners/operators of this modest shop. They must wake up at the wee hours of the morning just to create their lineup of salads and soups. And what a spread it is. The food here is excellent and is more than enough to get you through the long day at work. I usually get the fresh turkey(yes, fresh) or the pastrami on sourdough roll or their dutch crunch. Warning though, the DC bread is a little on the hard side. You can also get a half sandwich and any two of their excellent fresh made salads. For about $ 8. Their avocado, and I mean super generous avocado salad and kale salads usually run out first. Their pesto and Greek salads are also excellent. Feel free to live on the wild side and order other salads. The staff here are ridiculously friendly. There is mom, dad, and sometimes their daughter. I’ve seen lines at lunch time almost reach the front door, which is a pretty long way. Also the occasional TL crazy will sometimes make their way inside to try and get some spare change. That’s probably the only bad thing about this place… the smell of dried urine while trying to get here. Definitely good, cheap eats! And please, skip the Subway sandwich shop and patronize these fine folks. You won’t regret it!

It’s a blast from the past, except that in the past, everything didn’t look so old. I know, I know: Things from the ‘50s did look dated even in the ‘50s, but plastic and vinyl and brown brown brown were at least brighter then. Or people were hopeful because the war was over, the economy was booming, and they could afford their own little slice of heaven? I don’t know. The food is good. The menu is decrepit – not the items on the menu, but the physical menu itself. There are little yellowed plastic letters that are broken or completely missing. They’ve got quite a lot going on considering that this is basically a mom-and-pop operation, or a momandpoperation, as I like to call it. There are doilies everywhere, and the tables are fancier and cleaner than you would expect, although the chairs are uncomfortable. There are deals to be had, and I think I had one of them, but I don’t remember very much except for my first impression and the impression the hard chair made on my rear end. It’s definitely a keeper in the TL, and it’s a good place to go if you have jury duty. I should know – I was a juror for an entire month!

5 +++ Can’t believe I haven’t reviewed this place yet. T&L is the best spot for lunch in the TL. The owners are the cutest couple. The interior is dated(in a charming way) but pretty clean. The food is awesome, and a great value. I often get a combination of meatloaf or a turkey leg, plus two salads. Bursting with flavor; fresh; reasonably healthy, too! Great hot sauce and BBQ sauce. Mike and Jean always put a smile on my face with their quirky small talk. This place is the only reason I carry cash.

Very good selection of salads at a reasonable price. Salads are fresh and full of flavors. Quality of food is very good. It is a mom and pop, hole in the wall restaurant with a big menu. I really enjoy the Kale/Walnut/Cranberry salad, Broccoli salad, Avocado/Cucumber salad, egg salad and falafels here. Falafel balls are really good. I always feel like getting more of them. While price is reasonable for the quality food, I would be happier with more quantity. I came here with a friend to try it out, and we have been coming here regularly almost every week. Good place for nice deli meats or chicken, etc as well. I would recommend this place, I hope you will not be disappointed.

Dollar for dollar, Turk and Larkin Deli is really hard to beat. Good sandwiches, tons of delicious salads, and usually two soups a day to pick from, this is one of my favorite go to lunch spot in the area. Portion sizes are excellent and everything I’ve had has been tasty. My favorites include the grilled chicken breast(they’ll heat it but it’s much better cold), chicken noodle soup, dolmas and the avocado salad. Mom and pop owned and operated, if you’re in the Tenderloin and hungry for lunch, Turk and Larkin is worthy of a stop.

I’ve been to Turk larkin deli many times. Love the salad, soups and sandwich choices. Favorite menu item is the combo half sandwich and two salads. This place gets packed at noon. So head in early or plan on waiting in line. :)
