Love this place. The desserts on display are simply mouth watering. We shared a slice of the Fedora cake, which was chocolate on more chocolate, along with two lattes. Cake could be a little more moist, but the icing was divine-creamy but wonderfully dense. There was also subtle hints of orange zest which I love. The lattes were okay-not too strong but still good. Location is pretty good. The park across the street isn’t the newest, but my friend’s 2 year old still enjoys its playground plenty. There’s about 42 seater tables right out front which is great for people watching, but there are a lot of cars driving by because its a busy intersection. There isn’t much seating inside. Overall it’s just such a cute place with a fantastic selection of quality delectables that it’s hard not to love.

Another 3.5 stars but overall a solid bakery to relax after lunch. Has that old fashioned charm but the cushioned bench seating along the wall was a bit unclean. Cake price per slice is about the same as Stella’s or other NB bakeries. Fantastic moist and even layered Princess Cake, but wished there was more of a dome of whipped cream. :)

so glad we stumbled upon this spot! we were walking around north beach and looking for pizza(per usual) and voila! — there it was on the corner. i dont typically roam around that area, so i knew we had to stop in. we tried a slice of the princess cake and the chocolate truffle cake — both were good. the fondant on the princess cake was not overly sweet and really good texture, while the chocolate was so dense and rich — just how i like them! lol we also got a couple small cookies — $ 12+ pretty good deal! i would definitely consider buying a princess cake for a dinner party!

Review based on cannoli only. Very authentic and delicious. Would definitely be back!

Tiramisu – so good! Well balance of flavors and super moist. Cheesecake — delicious cheesecake. It was not overly sweet and the crust was perfect. My favorite dessert of the three. Cannoli – I liked the cream inside the cannoli but I felt the shell could use some work. I’m not a cannoli expert but I’ve tasted a few to know this was not the best. Each piece of dessert was around $ 3-$ 4 and it fed a group of 4 for Thanksgiving. They were the perfect size. The staff here is friendly and the atmosphere is charming which I love ! Highly recommend this place.

Panna Cotta was light and airy. Love the sweet creaminess of this dessert. Tiramisu was delicious. Friendly and nice staff.

Found this little bakery by chance when we were walking to the Fishermen’s Wharf and needed some coffee. They looked like they had good pastries and the sacripantina looked especially delicious so we split a slice. I was not disappointed. It was not overly sweet and had a great texture — light and moist. Their drip coffee is also pretty good.

For San Francisco standards, Victoria Pasty is a mediocre bakery. As a local of the neighborhood, I only stop by when I really crave for a pastry and I am too lazy to walk 2 more blocks. I have tried their éclair(2*), tiramisu(3*), panna cotta(4*) and some other things I don’t recall right now. So, I actually gave them several chances and I was disappointed pretty much every time I try something new. The pastries are decent but they taste less than how they look. The people working there are very friendly and that’s one of the reasons why I keep coming back.

Two words: Princess cake! If there is one thing you want to get, I’d recommend that. It is super moist and shareable. After having one bite, I knew I had to come back one day. I shared it with a friend, and half the slice was more than enough to satisfy my sweet tooth. Before leaving, I bought a bag of cookies to go and they were good. Next time I would want to try the cannoli. Overall, great service. The woman helping me was very patient and helpful when I was making my pastry selections. I’d definitely come back!

This is one of my favorite local coffee and pastry shops in North Beach. They used be in another location nearby, but they definitely aced it with this one! It is diagonally across the street from Washington Square Park and on the edge of Little Italy. The pastry is good, but be aware that their croissants go fast, so get there early! They get their coffee beans from Graffeo, which is another San Francisco original, right around the corner.

Boom. Princess cake. The end. Yet another princess cake review but I couldn’t resist. It’s the best slice of non chocolate cake I’ve ever had! Worth every penny. Perfectly textured yellow cake with layers of whipped cream, custard, raspberry and triple sec all blanketed in a beautifully textured marzipan! Every bite is perfectly balanced with just the right amount of cake and filling. What an amazing flavor profile! How have I never heard of princess cake before!!! This slice of glory will make even the mightiest of macho men feel like a princess. As for the rest of VPC’s pastries, they all look gorgeous and mouth watering and I’m sure they will have something to satisfy whatever your sweet tooth desires.

1:30pm on a Sunday afternoon and your waiting in line with Hubby and a Girlfriend at Mama’s after dragging them to the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon when the talk turns to Chocolate Pastries for later. What do you do? Unilocal,of course! Luckily Victoria Pastry was literally just around the corner so I was able to go and see what the offerings were while I left my Husband in Line. The place is on the small side and the Lady working not in the least bit cheery or welcoming, the cases were absolutely filled with row’s of Cookies, Cupcakes, Pastries and Cake slices of which I settled on a Chocolate Éclair for my Husband and a slice of Princess Cake for myself. I was pleased to discover that they have both the cream and custard filled Eclairs available here. The Princess Cake was ok, a little lacking in the jam layer but with a good Almond flavor, My Husband somewhat enjoyed the Éclair, it was a little on the dry side so I’m not sure how long it was kept in the case. I would be interested in returning at Easter as I see they Bake Hot Cross Buns here.

This is a small bakery located right off Columbus Avenue. There’s a good variety of pastries here. I think their specialty is a princess cake. They sell cakes by the slice. I tried some princess cake and thought it was good although a tiny bit too sweet for my tastes. The cake is soaked in some sort of syrup. I got a cannoli myself. It was quite good with lots of chocolate chips in the cream.

Aside from the fact that San Franciscans are strong supporters of a family business, there’s a reason why this bakery has been around since 1914: their Swedish Princess cake. Soft layers of sponge cake with raspberry jam and whipped cream covered with sweet marzipan fondant that tastes fresh, never crumbly. They’ve perfected the art of making this cake that even the Swedes will approve of. An 8 inch will set you back $ 35, but that’s a memorable cake the birthday girl won’t soon forget. Other enticing italian baked goods line the display case, but I wanted a sampling of the humongous strawberry cream puff. Ask for it if it’s freshly made and you won’t be disappointed. I personally have been going to Schubert’s bakery for better cake selection(at a cheaper price) but Victoria’s Pastry Company wins the Swedish Princess cake test by a mile.

A convenient North Beach location with a pretty good variety of sweet treats. We were lured in by the colorful cupcake artwork outside… Once I stepped inside I was a bit bummed to see the cupcakes had a low frosting-to-cake ratio. As a frosting fiend, I knew by sight these would not be my favorites… but the cupcakes we tried were better than expected. The red velvet had a surprisingly nice cocoa/coffee flavor, which brought me back to the Italian bakeries my grandmother visited with me as a kid. I liked that there was some frosting piped inside the cake, but I still could have done with a bit more on top. There is seating inside but it feels a bit bare, and a little too busy. It’s not the kind of place you cozy up and hang with your afternoon delight… but it might be the kind of place you stop by and grab something to take home. Plus, that would give you time for the refrigerated goodness to get up to room temperature.

Perhaps I ordered the wrong pastry, but I was a little disappointed by Victoria Pastry Company. I had high hopes for the bakery because it’s so adorable — a cute little shop on a street corner in Russian Hill. There’s little tables outside to enjoy a cappuccino and people watch. My fiancé and I shared the Fedora cake(think tiramisu minus the espresso) and it was gorgeous but the taste was not mind blowing. I also ordered a single cappuccino and was glad it was only a single and not a double because it was really tough to get through. It was extremely bitter and the milk tasted a bit burnt. I noticed other tables had also left about half of their espresso drinks behind so they must just use a bitter blend. The girls working behind the counter were very friendly and I’d love to come back and give them another chance, but I’d skip the coffee and get a different pastry next time.

We happened upon this gem while strolling through North Beach. The only complaint I have is that I was stuffed from lunch . So we shared a Tiramasu which was great. Everyone working here was friendly and interacted a lot with the customers. Apparently we looked very happy while enjoying our snack as several customers stopped to ask what we were having. Can’t wait to go back, I think we’ll stop here and just skip dinner.

Schade, dann musste eben ein normaler her.
