What a difference Dr Kan and Christina have made in my life!
I was experiencing really bad back pains and deep tissue massages just weren’t cutting it for me. I wasn’t sleeping well either as a result. I was contemplating whether to go to a chiropractor but I’ve never been a big fan of adjusting or cracking bones.
Finally I decided to search for something less intrusive. I had done acupuncture in the past but I was never wow’ed by their work. Until I discovered Dr Kan’s practice in San Carlos. He had 5 star reviews and I asked myself if that was possible? So I reached out to him in the summer of 2014.
The first session was quite painful but rightfully so given that it was years of accumulated tension. I left with my back so black that I couldn’t believe that’s how much toxin I had built all these years. But that night and the subsequent nights I slept like a baby, despite the soreness. 3 days later my back never felt better.
For the first month I visited him almost weekly until my back felt more balanced. Now I go once every 6 weeks or so as whatever it is that he does with cupping and acupuncture, my back feels good for that long of a period of time.
I look forward to getting a treatment each time because I feel enormously better after the session, sleep like a baby, and I no longer reach out to rub my back. That’s how good I feel these days. I know it’s one of the best things I’ve done for my health.
He comes highly recommended through our inner circles and you won’t regret it. He’s also very flexible and accomodating in terms of schedule. I typically email him 3 days in advance and he always finds me a spot.
Do yourself a favor and give it a go. Vincent and Christina are good people. You know it once you start talking to them and interacting with them.

Vincent and Christina are the most skilled, knowledgeable, and effective acupuncturists you will every meet. They are true healers in every since of the word.
They take the time to really understand the root issue, explain it in a way that is comprehensible, and apply numerous methods of treatment to fix whatever’s going wrong. I’ve seen them both for several years and they have helped me combat all sorts of health issues including allergies, skin rashes, back pain, low energy, stress, cramps, a weak immune system, you name it. What separates them from the rest is the range of healing methods they use for treatment. They use needles, cupping, massage, light therapy, laser therapy, vibration techniques, heat lamps, B-​shots, Chinese herbs, and good energy to help heal the body.
Despite being very busy physicians, Vincent and Christina always made a point to fit me into their schedule, even seeing me at 8PM at night. When I left my job to move out of state, they offered to send me herbs in the mail and offered to fit me in anytime I was back in town. On my last visit, prior to leaving for South America, Vincent gave me several suggestions on how stay well while traveling and gave me strong Chinese herbs to take while I was there. They truly cared about my health and well-​being and treated me like I was family. I can’t thank them enough for all their help and support other than to RECOMMEND THEM TO THE HIGHEST EXTENT.

This post is an update to my previous post in January 2013 and it’s a good one! I had first found Vincent because of a bronchitis infection and thankfully he was able to see me that day. I was SO impressed with how quickly my symptoms subsided after my first appointment, and how knowledgeable and skilled a practitioner I was hooked.
At that appointment I ask Dr. Kan if he felt he could help with some internal scar tissue I had from a surgery related to my (failed) pregnancy a few years prior. He didn’t bat an eyelash about being able to treat me, so after I healed from the bronchitis we began working on my fertility issues. Eight months later, despite doctors and my own beliefs I could conceive I did, and I am 6.5months pregnant today and I truly believe working with Dr. Kan is what helped my body heal so that I could have this amazing life experience.
Of course, I have gone to see him and Christina during my pregnancy and they have helped tremendously with the standard aches and pains as well as increasing my energy during this incubation process.
Again, it is such a honor to work with true healers. Vincent and Christina are passionate and knowledgeable about conventional and alternative healing options to support their clients through significant health challenges. Regardless of what your aliment is I would urge you to run not walk to their office and open yourself to the healing journey Dr. Kan and Nurse Tran can compassionately guide you through.

I wish I could give this guy 10 stars. I have been seeing him and Christina for about four months and my health has improved in many ways that I did not even anticipate, or even go to visit them for. I have had many types of treatments with Dr. Kan, including virtual acupuncture, laser therapy, light therapy, cupping, and a few other treatments that he recommends.
I like him so much that I am now driving down to Belmont from SF on a regular basis, as their SF office has closed. It is totally worth the trip, as my health has improved Tremendously. I fully believe that his treatment is helping transform my body into a much healthier more balanced entity, as I have lost about 10 – 15 pounds and eliminated my sugar cravings, and cravings for other foods/​redmeat. I went to see him for other issues, but the weight loss and healthier digestion is just a happy side effect of him helping me fine-​tune my body.
I work with both him and Christina Tran, his colleague, and recommend both of them for noninvasive, and holistic treatments.
He has also helped me graduate to being able to tolerate acupuncture needles, having first started me off on virtual acupuncture. Trust me this is a major accomplishment!
Also the neighborhood that the office is in is really cute.
Both him and Christina Tran are also very generous with their time and knowledge.

I haven’t even met Dr. Kan yet, appt. tomorrow but as soon as i explained my symptoms and situation you knew exactly what i was feeling and gave me remedies to start using immediately. I have never needed or gone to see a TCM or accupuncturist so i was skeptical but after one conversation i felt like someone finally understood what i was saying and how i felt. Now i’m hoping the treatments will finally rid me of this issue. Thanks Dr. Kan!

Very impressive! My girlfriend has gotten ill recently and her mood has unusually changed for the worse. She had anemia previously, and had recently undergone palpitations that has caused her unable to fall asleep. We finally decided to look for any local Chinese Medicine doctors and immediately found Dr. Kan. With all the great reviews it definitely had caused me to wonder if it really is as good as people say…
After getting a prescreen by Dr. Kan’s nurse/​assistant Christine, Dr. Kan came in and did a second diagnosis, decided to do a combination of Chinese medicine with western methods. The process took about 10 – 15 min at a time, with about 30 – 40 minute breaks in between. After everything was done, my girlfriend suddenly felt energized, and also her face before we came in was pale, and now she just looks normal. She told me that she felt relaxed, although her body is still sore. Dr. Kan indicated that’s normal, and let the body rest for a couple more days.
Overall, I highly recommend anyone to try him out, you WILL be amazed.
Quicktip: Have a little patient when you go in, he has lots of other patients that he takes care of, so the wait may be a little long. Also, ask a lot of questions! Both Christine and Dr. Kan are very open to questions and are both very knowledgeable!

Dr. Kan Is the best acupuncturist. If I could give him 100 stars I would. I fly up from Los Angeles every other month to see him. He keeps me calm and able to have fun in a high pressure world. Words could never describe how great he is. I thank him all the time for his treatments.

Dr Kan is a blessing to me ! he helped me tremendously over the years with my sinus, respiratory, digestive, hormones etc. In my opinion, he is the Best Acupuncturist in town, tested and confirmed. He’s caring, attentive and accomodating nature is an added bonus to his high degree of skills and years of experience. I’m gratefull to have known him for over 10 years & with respect and gladness & without a doubt will always highly refer him to my family, friends, associates and co-​workers. Dr. Kan is a born healer. I’ve never met a doctor who posses such a high degree of intuitive skill and I’ve always felt that this is big part of being an effective physician. I’ve recommended Dr. Kan to a lot of people and I’ve always received wonderful feedback from friends and family. He has 2 offices, one in San Francisco and the other in Belmont, which makes it very convenient for me.

When you need an acupuncturist, go to Dr Kan. Once you start going, you will never want to stop. He has treated my back, jaw, gut, you name it. He is clearly the best.

Update as of 1÷9÷13: I had the most blissful time at Dr. Kan’s. I love both of his offices, but the one in the City is amazing. In addition to all of the fantastic treatment, he performed a skin rejuvenation on my face (over the week I looked about 10 years younger). He also has really great clients who I met. Good people attract good people.
I wish I could give 10 stars. I highly recommend Dr. Kan. I’ve been going to Dr. Kan and Christina for a few months, receiving acupuncture treatments. I like that they have two offices, one in Belmont and one in San Francisco. They are both so knowledgeable and gifted in their practice. I have experienced a significant improvement in my health. I have serious food sensitivities, with soy being one of the most severe. One day, I ate some soup and discovered a piece of tofu. If I eat any kind of soy, I can have severe reactions that last from 3 to 7 days. I was able to schedule an appointment that day and Dr. Kan was able to treat me so the impact of ingesting the food was minimal. I am so thankful that I found Dr. Kan and Christina. I look forward to the continued improvement of health I am experiencing thanks to these two!

Dr Kan is the acupuncturist that I have ever met. He has cured my back pain with just a few treatments. I recommend him highly. He has two convenient location one in San Francisco and one in Belmont.

Dr. Kan is the best Acupuncturist that I have ever met. He was originally my husband’s doctor and, my husband used to tell me how wonderful and magical his work is. He is a true healer, my husband suffered for the longest time on back and neck stiffness and could not get rid of it for years with any massage therapist or chiropractor. Finally, until he met Dr. Kan, he was able to heal him with one visit and he has not had any more complaints since. He sees him on a regular basis for maintenance and any other problems that he may have.
I travel all the way from San Diego to see him now as well and am addicted to his treatments. Just to name a few of my treatments w/​him: The first time that I visited him, I complained about my menopause and my period which had stopped. He treated me only once and after two days my period was back. He has treated me with my sleep problems, now I sleep 8 hours straight. I have stopped using Botox and Juverderm (fillers) because he uses needles and laser to help my skin/​body to build its natural collagen. He has treated me for detoxifying my liver, helped me w/​my digestive systems issues, etc… I don’t need to go on any prescriptions, I use good supplements and Chinese herbs, occasionally.
I love the combination of Eastern and Western Medicine and he has the knowledge of both of them .
I love to get treated by Dr. Kan and travel monthly to SF to see him to get energized and reborn — there is no comparison to him and any other acupuncturists that I used to see in San Diego.
I have also referred him to most of my friends and they all love him.

Dr. Kan is the best!!! After my 1^st session with him, I immediately felt amazing & slept like a baby that night. I couldn’t believe how quickly I felt good. I’ve been seeing Dr Kan for years. I’ve sent countless friends and family members over the years because he truly is a healer, is extremely knowledgeable, and compassionate. He’s fantastic with stress management, and especially good with pain relief. My Mom that has debilitating and painful gout/​arthritis sees him occasionally (travels from LA) and he is a miracle worker with her pain management. She has literally been wheel chaired into his office, and she’s able to walk out. I highly recommend Dr Kan.

Dr. Kan is truly an amazing acupuncture therapist.
He has been treating my lower back for few years now. When I have a flair up, He is my 1^st line of defense for pain relief. He is very knowledgeable in eastern medicine and beyond. Each session is a bit different and I am so used to the needles and the infra red lamp that I just fall asleep and wake up more energized, less stressed and much less painful.
This is an update, though I have not seen Dr Kan for a while (as my lower back pain has been gone now) it is thanks to him that I am becoming certified as a veterinary acupuncturist. His knowledge has inspired me to find my own path and explore the very reach and ancient traditional Chinese medicine. I still recall his enthusiasm and deep knowledge and experience

Dr. Kan treated me after I was hit by a car back in April — my entire body was out of alignment and I had extreme pain coming from my lower back. Being new to acupuncture, he helped me to feel comfortable from the very start and thoroughly explained the treatment and methods. I am back to normal and was even able to run the Nike Women’s Marathon in October! I will always recommend Dr. Kan to anyone interested in acupuncture.

Dr. K is much more than an acupuncturist, he’s a full body mechanic ~ not only understands organs, nervous, circulatory, musculature, and skeletal systems but able to troubleshoot the inter-​workings. Moreover, he’s a problem solver regardless of whether the problem is physical, mental, or cosmetic and able to efficiently identify the critical path for healing. He’s masterful with needle, light, laser, and sound therapy and a better chiropractor than any specialist I’ve ever seen. Dr. K is big picture, he’s a quick study, and solely focused helping.
This is my first post ever on Unilocal,and I can’t say enough great things about Dr. K, he’s truly changed my life. For what it’s worth, Sara D. believes bashing Dr. K on Unilocal will get her free treatment, but even those shameless acts won’t deter Dr. K ~ he’s one of the most selfless, genuine, thoughtful, and ‘wise’ people I’ve ever met, and I’m honored to know him.
I know Dr. K sees some patients every month or every other week, but after getting hit by a car riding my bicycle and then having double hip surgery, I’ve seen Dr. K almost every week for the last 16 months ~ no joke. I know him well, he’s like family, and anyone is welcome to message me directly if you have other questions.

I started going to Dr. Kan in 2005 for neck pains from sitting at the computer too much. Before going to him, I had tried a few other acupuncturists. But, none personalized the treatment like him. Since I had a great response to my first treatment, I’ve continued to go to him for other minor ailments throughout the years… muscle pain, work stress, relationship stress, congestion, colds, pre and post partum work. He is a great healer. I have recommended him to several friends.

Dr. Kan is absolutely the best. I cannot agree with Kristen L. more and had a similar very positive experience. I look forward to ongoing treatment and believe my ailments will be helped tremendously by his acupuncture treatments.
