Very nice staff, wonderful tea. Very poor quality tempura. Oil tasted old. Sent the eggplant appetizer back. They were gracious about it. That’s a plus.

This place was cool. I was expecting a lot more but it sufficed! Came here with the lady because she is a big sushi fan. She ordered 4 or 5 different rolls. I can only recall the fireworks because they light it on fire! Yes, there are flames but they don’t burst at you! Very entertaining. I essentially scarfed down three of the 4 rolls all by myself which typically tends to happen. Good sushi, I would recommend this place to other looking for something a tad bit different. However, this place is rather small and street parking is limited and metered until 6! You might have to circle the block a couple of times if you want parking so be warned in advance. #notthatwild

I live around this restaurant almost a year, but this is the first time I visit them! No question! Five stars from me! Can’t believe I miss them all this whole year. It wasn’t so busy in a Tuesday night, but seem like they do have a lot of delivery order too. That’s mean they’ll have the fresh fish to serve you. I always scared to come in a empty restaurant, specially the one who served you raw food. And I’m so lucky the chef told me the Ankimo(monk fish liver) is just done! So it is like super fresh! And I also order the Strawberry cold sake they recommended. Which wasn’t disappointed me! Will come back next week! See you soon!

My best friend and I were browsing for a sushi restaurant and I came across this place. What caught my attention was the sushi boat. Without hesitation we decided to come here on a rainy Sunday. As we arrived the place was fairly filled with a few reserved tables left. We were seated quickly at the sushi bar and made it in time for happy hour. The place became packed after that. We ordered Combination A and Happy Cow. The look on my best friends face was priceless when she tasted Happy Cow. The beef was seared and the tempura inside was still very crispy. I highly recommend this roll! The boat we received was enormous and took us awhile to eat. The fish is pretty fresh for the price we’re paying for. The sashimi was cut very thick! +1 for that. The service here was good, the waiter came around frequently to refill my tea. Overall I would definitely come back to this place if I’m nearby and craving for sushi.

I’m not living close by this restaurant, but once I stop by any of the sunset area… Wild Sushi will be my first choice to have a dinner. Even it was after 10 o’clock, because they’re closed until midnight. They also got the Happy Hour too! If I come early before 7 o’clock, they have another Happy Hour! Can you believe it! It always save my pocket! Love them!

I can’t believe what I just have last night?! A sushi boat with 10 pcs sashimi, 6 pcs nigiri sushi, one California Roll, one Dragon Roll and 2 pcs fresh oysters. It only cost me $ 38.99!!! All the other Japanese restaurant I knew they’re charge $ 40 and more. I not saying the quality at Wild Sushi is the best, but they actually did a good job on it. The service was surprise me too. Great smile everywhere, refill my tea many time. They also have some items is not on the menu, I got my son a Inari sushi, and my parents have their favorite Unagi Fried rice. Just ask the chef or the server!

We love Wild Sushi. Their delivery is very quick and prices reasonable. There are a variety of specialty rolls that are worth a try, and tasty appetizers.

We were seating quickly on a Monday night, and teas were served upon arrival. I ordered the albacore tataki, and they were very accommodating when I asked to switch the fish to fresh hamachi. It was very refreshing, but there was a little too much ponzu sauce on it. I also ordered the salmon, hamachi belly, and unagi nigiris. I love that they had an option to choose hamachi belly, however it was not fresh at all. I really enjoyed the salmon and the unagi was decent. Their rolls are pretty good, especially for the happy hour prices. I don’t think I would dine here if they didn’t have the happy hour, though. The servers were very nice and they refilled our teas many times, which was wonderful! :)

Never had mini uni before and they were really good! Came here at 10pm not because of the happy hour but because we I don’t get out from work till late. This place might be my late night go to sushi spot since their aren’t that many places that opens late. I ordered the mini uni, ankimo and oyster. All were very good. Oh and did I mention, they have happy hour– buy one get one free beer and many more.

This sushi bar is amazing. We came again for a birthday dinner and Sam made a sushi birthday cake. Good quality food. Friendly staff. Not a romantic quiet kind of dining. So much energy! Yay!

We were seated quick. Service was on point. Food was reasonably priced and fresh. All in all, it was a good meal. Thy have a HH menu where some specialty rolls are $ 7.99 whole apps are below $ 4. Advice — I would skip the live uni. It had a weird texture/taste to it. Color was a bit dull, too.

Where else in the Avenues can you find post-10pm Happy Hour. re-phrase: Where else in the Avenues can you find post-10pm Happy Hour with BOGO beer and sake!!? Wild Sushi has 2 Happy Hour sessions: 1.) 4:30pm-7pm with a discount on certain rolls(where we’ve tried at least 75% of those rolls and they’ve never disappointed us), and 2.) 10pm-11:45pm with a discount on certain appetizers(Bacon. Wrapped. Scallop.) and BOGO beer(Asahi wtF) and(hot) sake. BOGO Beer(2 large and 1 small means a total of 4 large and 2 small) and Hot Sake(2 large means 4 large) – the waitresses were observant and prompt with our free beer and sake. caution: Sake can be hot when handled. Group 4 Appetizers: –bbq squid was grilled perfectly, not rubbery; –Bacon.Wrapped.Scallop. were nicely glazed and bacon was crisp –ashi fry(squid legs) were barely battered, but I’d prefer it that way cuz breading would’ve prevented enjoyment of the squid legs! –shrimp tempura were lightly battered and enjoyed from tip to tail Sashimi: –16 pieces(4 yellowtail, 4 tuna, 4 salmon) were a good sized portion and impressively fresh Rolls: –Iceland(didn’t get to try the sis’ bf’s roll, but see picture) –Super Dynamite was lightly deep fried and crispy –Fireworks was set on fire!!! and small bites of ricr were charred for texture –Island came wrapped in layers of cucumber instead of rice, which was unusual, but refreshing Dessert: –vanilla and green tea ice cream!!! without freezer burn Earlier visits included their Ramen, which was enough to share between me and my sister. PS: the back room has a flat screen to enjoy seasonal Warriors, Giants, and Niner games. Win!

I hate to write negative reviews, but sometimes, you really have to look out for other patrons. When they first opened, I used to love Wild Sushi. The portions were great and the fish was very fresh. Everything had a very airy and light taste, so you would never taste anything beyond the nature sweetness of the fish. However, now, the quality of the sashimis and the nigiris have suffered. When I went tonight, the fish was very pungent and the overall experience was lacking. My girlfriend and I both agreed that we definitely have had better sushi from other spots in the city. I really hope that Wild Sushi can turn it around, but as of now, I will not go back. :(

When it’s really late and most of the sunset is closed and the line to Izakaya Sozai is STILL over an hour… Wild sushi is the place to go. I love the after 10 happy hour prices on the menu as well as the before 7pm sushi specials. You can pig out on decent sushi for a fantastic price. The fish isn’t anything notable, but it’s definitely acceptable. If you’re in the mood for highly americanized sushi with lots of ingredients and options, this will hit the spot. If you order delivery over $ 35 — you get a couple free side options to choose from, like potstickers. Love that, and makes me choose Wild sushi over other late night delivery spots on the area. If you wandered in with your tail between your legs from next door and had your heart set on ramen… I do NOT recommend getting it here. It is not very good at all. Ignore the rest of the ridiculously large menu and stick to the sushi section.

This place is great. But the parking is terrible. I spent a good half an hour looking for parking that we nearly missed Happy Hour! Anyway, we weren’t greeted with smiles when we arrived, and decided to sit at the bar to eat. The food was fresh and I was extremely happy to find that they serve Geso Karrage(mmm one of my faves!). We ordered an appetizer, a roll, sashimi combo, nigiri, and blue shrimp which was on the Special to kind of cover the basis. I enjoyed the Geso the most since they have a large meaty amount. The food overall was great and I would suggests to come back during Happy Hour — they have rolls that are priced around $ 12.99−13.99 for only $ 7.99. You get a chance to try out different rolls if that’s what you fancy. The only gripe I really have on this place is the service. It took awhile to get our food and I asked our waitress for water a few times before another waitress came to give me water. We sat at the bar and expected to get more interactions with the chef, but just got a wave towards the end when we left the table. I look forward to coming here again and experiencing more of the food and even possibly the ramen, although I will probably come here earlier than I did to make sure to make it to Happy Hour.

I ate my few pieces of nigiri in 15 before it all came out of me in the next painful 60. Delivery was smooth, and the sushi itself tasted middle of the road. Unfortunately, 1 star for the midnight sushi birth I felt forced into labor for.

Although I had only been to Goemon once, I knew it was just a matter of time before they folded. The food wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t good either and the restaurant was almost always empty. So, in that regard, Wild Sushi has been great — nicely renovated space, livelier atmosphere, and a more modern menu. As welcome of an addition to the neighborhood as Wild Sushi may be though(there aren’t a lot in this part of the Sunset like it), it follows the all too familiar formula of offering an abundance of overly dressed and sauced rolls. Those gussied up rolls aren’t necessarily the worst thing, but only if they’re done right. From what I can tell(and based on what others have said), Wild Sushi’s is a bit hit and miss, but at least there a lot of other options on their menu. – CHICKENKARAAGE…$ 6.99 ( ) The heaping portion made this perfect for our table to share. It”s not one of the better ones I’ve had, but the taste was okay. Every piece was fried nicely, but I didn’t care for the batter and I thought the chicken could have been seasoned more. — GESOASHIFRY — Lightly Fried Squid Legs…$ 6.99 ( ) Yes, more fried stuff, but I can’t resist fried squid! In many ways, the dish was like the Karaage — sizable portion, «meh» batter, and perhaps slightly overcooked. I did like the dipping sauce it came with though; a little salty and acidic to cut through the oil. – SAKEANDHAMACHINIGIRI…$ 4.25 /$ 4.50 ( ) Potentially the highlight of the meal. Both were decently fresh and the cuts were pretty nice. I’d give the edge to the sake, but I think both tasted great. The rice wasn’t the best(ditto for the rolls), but it was passable. – ROMEO&JULIETROLL — Salmon and Avocado wrapped with Soybean Paper, topped with Fresh Scallop, Tobiko, and House Sauce…$ 11.99 ( ) Of the two, I thought this one was better. It’s a little more simple, but I liked that the flavors were more natural. While the salmon and avocado always go well together, the scallops were what won me over — both delicious and fresh! – SNOWWHITEROLL — Shrimp Tempura, Crab Meat, and Avocado topped with Waru, Black Tobiko, and House Sauce…$ 12.99 ( ) The taste of it was fine, but nothing about it stood out. The tempura was somewhat crisp and the crab meat was okay, but the waru seemed to get lost in the rest of the roll. Without being able to taste the first, this was essentially a typical Dragon Roll. Although nothing stood as a particular miss, I didn’t find anything exceptional about the food. THREEAND A HALFSTARS rounded down, though I would still come back again. The location is convenient and they’re a viable alternative when Sozai next door gets especially busy. Though I can’t say how the bento boxes are, sticking with the sashimi might be the safest bet.
