I waited a while before writing a review as I was attending different classes with different instructors. But now I can truly and safely say, I love this studio. All the instructors are genuinely the sweetest and have great technique! More often than not, I leave having done some yoga stance I’ve never done before. Like today, where I transformed into a human pretzel but it felt great! Super location, easy to book and they have good introductory pricing.

my neighborhood #yoga treasure, a place to go and #love yourself, friends in class, let go of all things unwanted, honor all wanted, breath in good energy and let out sighs, oms, yells, laughs — for instruction in opening your body, soul, & heart!

I signed up for Yoga Tree in Hayes Valley about a month ago after hopping around SF trying out different places for yoga. I’ve taken three different classes now with three different teachers and I must say every single one has felt like a real, quality teaching of yoga. Everyone is so sweet, never have I once felt uncomfortable or out of place here. I highly recommend Kristen’s Yin Yoga class and Danni’s Vinyasa class. I’m so happy to have settled on such a great studio!

I love this yoga tree. I usually go to David’s Sunday class. He’s very knowledgable about the poses, and the body. We get to work different body areas in each class. I love the studio. Very clean.

I dropped into a Saturday morning Hatha class with Marissa recently, as I visit a friend in SF regularly and want to keep up my practice while I’m in town. I thoroughly enjoyed the class, and Marissa’s light hearted approach and sense of humor was wonderful. The class was the perfect blend of comfort and challenge. The studio is clean, warm, bright and inviting. I will definitely return again.

Absolutely love Yoga Tree Hayes! The reception area gets a little crowded between classes — with people trying to sign in, put their shoes on, etc however it didn’t bother me at all. The studio space is huge — one of the larger ones I’ve been to here in SF. The bathrooms are located at the front of the studio room, and there is no shower, but there are changing rooms in the reception area. I attended one of Danni’s 90 minute classes on a Monday and it was fantastic. A few comments below someone said that he is the worst teacher — I highly disagree. He was energetic yet soothing. Exactly what I wanted from this class. While we were focusing on the«basics» in this class, I definitely got my sweat on. If you’re a Classpass user, or just looking for a yoga studio near Hayes Valley check out Yoga Tree!

I love Yoga Tree SF and I love most of the teachers there. However I found Danni Pomplun to be the worst teacher out there. I took the first 10 minutes of his class and had to walk out because I was so uncomfortable. He seemed very nervous & extremely hyper. He was also speaking so fast like he was on some type of drugs or something. If you are looking for a spiritual yoga class, skip this one.

I attended the Sunday night candlelight yoga with David and loved it! I’m not a «yogi» and some of the poses were challenging but he was great about offering modifications. The first part of the 90 min class had me sweating and breathing hard but towards the end, we did more deep stretching and relaxing poses. I learned what to do with those rugs(they are great for cushioning and support!) and I think if I incorporate this class into my week, I’ll see results. David was excellent with correcting form and he was encouraging without being cheesy. The studio itself is small but clean and the staff was really friendly and welcoming. I couldn’t do some of the more advanced poses like crow or the handstand but David didn’t make us beginners feel bad or like we had to force a movement/injure ourselves. Great studio! I can’t wait to try more classes here!

Visited the Yoga Tree Hayes location when I was in town for a conference. I ended up taking two classes with Jacqui Rowley, and really enjoyed the classes. Jacqui was super clear and had logical, detailed and interesting sequencing. The 3 classes for $ 20 intro deal was great too! I’d definitely return.

Loved the atmosphere of this studio! It was clean, welcoming and the staff was extremely nice. I took Jacqui’s class and loved how knowledgable she was, with her instruction I almost did my first headstand! Should definitely go to her class, I highly recommend!

As with all studios the instructor is key… but the vibe helps a lot. Found this to be a great location, nice people and very welcoming. Keep in mind that the restrooms are in a strange location and it does not have any showers… so that is just something to consider. Enjoy!

Great studio! I took two with Amanda Moran while I was visiting SF from Boston, so I obviously liked her style :) — my first time trying jivamukti as well. The front desk staff were so so friendly too! What a warm and welcoming place to practice!

Hayes Yoga Tree is on the smaller side for a yoga studio, which is perfect for me. I like the smaller classes, they’re more intimate. They have a variety of class times throughout the day. My favorite teacher is Alicia who teaches basic yoga on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:34 am. Alicia is so patient, gentle and radiates a positive attitude. She provides helpful adjustments to poses. I look forward to her classes. I like their price packages. It’s more affordable when you purchase a package. It’s awesome that they provide free tea to further relax after your yoga session. They have a points system where you earn points each time you go to class. After a certain number of times, you get a free class. Friendly front desk staff.

5 big sparkly stars for the teacher, Kim, for Hatha yoga. She addresses her students requests and introduced me to some new poses. I like the Dolphin pose! The studio has a wall art of sexy blue Krishna. It’s charming inside and has a good neighborhoody vibe. I liked that the community class was $ 12. I’ll check out her Tuesday and Sundays classes again!

Highlight of this studio? Brenna Geehan. She’s super down-to-earth yet has a plethora of yoga-based knowledge. Such a precious combo. I’ve taken her classes for years, following her from Yoga Garden to Tree, and have grown. I’ve witnessed her lead a flow class that included both Level 3 students and one complete beginner. How was it? Frickin’ brilliant. Don’t be fooled by the chill delivery — this one has very cool abilities and uses them to be an incredible almost invisible support to fellow yogis. By that I mean, she’s with the flow. Also special: Amanda Moran’s devotional flow class. I’m a newbie there, but loved what I experienced. Oh, and: a super friendly front-desk, always.

Awesome yoga classes while visiting SF a few weeks ago. They have studios all over the city so I was excited to visit 3: Stanyan, Hayes, and the Castro. The Teachers all were helpful. I liked the Hayes studio space the Best with sky lights.

5 stars for Wataya and KK. Practiced Anusara here in 2010&2011, fairly regularly with Wataya.

I was visiting San Francisco from New York and really felt like I could use a good yoga class after hauling up and down the SF hills. I asked some friends and they recommended this chain of studios and Hayes was closest to my hotel. For a visitor and someone who doesn’t practice as much these days, I felt really welcomed by the studio. I have a tendency to get anxious when I go somewhere new but I have to say, that anxiety melted pretty quickly coming here. Next time I’m in this town, I’ll definitely make this a stop on the schedule.

I have only made it to Brenna’s Yoga Nidra class. It is the perfect reason to take time off work. I leave the class with all stress gone and feeling blissfully happy, peaceful and relaxed. The front desk staff has been helpful and welcoming, and they have mats you can rent for $ 1 so dragging a yoga mat to work is not necessary.

I have to say I was very impressed with this studio. I’ve been practicing yoga on and off for the last ten years, with a focus on Anusara for the last five. I was happy to see that Yoga Tree offers a ton of Anusara or Anusara inspired classes throughout SF. When I moved to CA from AZ, this studio was recommended to me by a friend who had taken classes at another Yoga Tree in SF. This studio just happens to be the one closest to my house. They have a $ 203 class package for new students, and while their drop-in class rates are pricey IMO, they do have pretty good deals on packages if you can pay up front. I took Stacey Rosenberg’s all-levels class and I was SUPERHAPPY with her teaching style, verbal corrections, and gentle hands-on alignment. What I love about Anusara is how detailed the verbal cues are. It keeps you safe and aware of where you are in space. When you have a great teacher, they can take you to depths in your practice safely and effectively. I absolutely loved Stacey! I’d highly recommend her to anyone looking for a challenging but loving class. You can see that she has a devoted following of students as it appeared most everyone knew each other in class… which I also love. It wasn’t stuffy or stand-offish, just loving and very yogic. Can’t wait to go back!
