BoConcept San Jose

Absolutely phenomenal experience shopping here.
When my girlfriend and I moved into a new place, we decided its finally time to grow out of IKEA, and get ourselves some proper adult furnitures. I’ve always known this place as «the place with super nice but super expensive furniture in Santana row», but after looking around in the market we realized they are actually priced pretty competitively vs other «adult furniture» stores so we decided to give it a try.
I think besides the amazing minimalistic look that speak for themselves (see photo below), the thing i appreciate the most is the quality of the shopping experience here. We were very lucky to work Mette, who just moved here from their Denmark store along with Jonas. I mean, how much more authentic can you get, to have Danish folks suggesting you what kind of Scandinavian furnitures to get?
After bringing her the measurements for our living room, we ended up with some classy pieces from the store that fitted our room extremely well. I think as the other reviewers mentioned, she have a good taste and an even better sense of atheistic. After we locked down on the pieces, Mette was extremely helpful along the way, keeping us up to date on the order status, and even lending us a loaner sofa while we waited for our actual couch to arrive!
Two minor things about this place
1. The furnitures take a really long time to get here. We ordered ours at end of August, and they were manufactured and shipped from Europe, which ended arriving on the 2^nd week of November. I will say the delayed gratification did increase our appreciation for the furniture when they finally arrived, but definitely plan ahead if you are planning to shop here!
2. They are a little on the pricey side, and their discounts are not as much and as often as some competing places with similar styles.

Amazing customer service. The sales team there is amicable, helpful, and truly professional. Specifically, Tony Pham helped me with my sofa purchase. He never pushes to make a sale and really cared about getting the right product for my needs. I gave him dimensions for my living room, the floor and wall colors, and the kind of lighting I have in the room. Tony was helpful in giving guidance and narrowing my search for the perfect couch. The design of the products and the care of customer service they put into the purchase experience is incredible.

Fantastic offering of modern designs, fabrics and options. Jonas is a professional designer and intuitively pinpoints what you might like or work for your space. Highly recommend BoConcepts for those who have a flare for the modern edge.

I bought a nice abstract painting from here. The sales person was very nice and helpful. He even allowed me to have 3 days to return the item if it didn’t fit over my couch. When i got the painting home, it looked so beautiful. It completely finished the look. I’ve referred a lot of friends to them.

Update: This branch finally got a new manager and notably one that understands how customers of a premium store like this should get treated, especially after the employees made so many mistakes and caused us so much frustration. The new manager called us in a timely manner to give us updates on our extremely delinquent order, unlike the previous employees that said they would call us for updates and never called. This manager was very apologetic to the matters that we were subjected to.
Basically we ordered three items in February and two of those three items were damaged, so they ordered more for us. We waited a long time for the order to arrive, and they arrived in SF, so they asked us to pick up the stools in SF (WTF?). I had to beg them to bring them to the SJ location, and when they arrived one of the two stools was not damaged, so we re-​ordered more and were forced to wait longer for our last item to arrive. Throughout this process the employees refused to refund us or do anything else to apologize after causing us all this headache and annoyance. and finally after 2 months of waiting we got our last item (slightly damaged, but I’m not going to wait another 2 months for a stool).
Upon arriving at the store to pick up the last stool that we had ordered, we were greeted by the new manager, Jonas. Jonas proceeded to apologize for the inconvenience and bad service that we had received. He made sure that I was satisfied with the terms of sale and he even had prepared several gifts for us in addition to apologize — wow.
I’ve never had such bad service, but at the same time, I’ve never had such a nice apologetic gesture given, and for that I am hopeful for the future of this branch since they appear to have a capable manager to watch over the store and ensure that their customers are treated well.

Great to see BoConcept at Santana Row and conveniently located right next to Crate and Barrel too. I was not very familiar with the brand or their designs until we simply walked in one day and what I found was a very nice store with very helpful salespeople.
I was greeted by Precious Mizell, a salesperson that was extremely friendly, offered the whole family water and walked us through their designs. I have since worked with Precious on multiple orders including sleeper ottomans (yes they exist) and convertible sleeper couches, as well as a number of stools for our game room. Almost everything in the store is highly «functional» and offers clean ergonomic designs.
We have previously purchased furniture from Design Within Reach and while the BoConcepts designs may not be as timeless or recognizable they seem to flow together very well. They are certainly priced better in most cases, and the ability to customize fabrics has made it easier to build the look that we were going for. They stock a surprising amount of the accessories, pillows, frames, vases etc. but for big pieces they all need to be ordered/​delivered.
Great experience so far, a very well arranged store with helpful and knowledgeable design oriented salespeople like Precious. Will definitely keep going back!

I am so happy there is a new location in San Jose. I visited their store in Potrero Hill a few months ago and I was thoroughly impressed. Their selection is amazing. I have no idea why people go to IKEA when there are furniture stores like BoConcept around. The danish furniture will last years and years since they are made with such high quality. Thanks for providing this great service.
