A short review about this place: Food is ok and probably a little bit better than the average fast food restaurant(Wendy’s…). I ordered a blue burger and I have to admit that I’m still trying to figure out why they called it blue. It tastes just like any other burger. Now fries were actually good, fresh and tasty. But here is my challenge and why I can’t give more than just 3 stars. This place screams authentic but nothing there is. The service is basic, The furniture are basic chairs and tables just to allow you to sit nothing 70’s or something. The kitchen area doesn’t look clean The cook or the owner of the restaurant seems to have not prioritized cleanliness. I was looking for a nice local burger place where once in a while(we do burger maybe once a month) I can take my family or get food for us. This is not that place but for those looking for a burger not from Wendy’s then you will like it… but expect to pay more.

It was a really authentic home town burger. The cost is about $ 7.99 including frys and soda. The business is over 50 years old in an original 1960 style building. They are the home to a vintage car club and pictures are all over the walls. A great place to take the family or something different for a date, to eat drink and be merry.

I do not usually write re views but when a manager argues with the customer I can not stand it. Especially when it was very clear on the receipt! I have been getting Burgers from the Burger Barn for years never have I encountered a Manger with unethical values that tampered with purpose good customer service. And I intend on telling everyone I know and don’t know that customer service is to say the least nonexistent!

Bad service and horrible quality for the extreme price you pay. Do yourself a favor and go to In n out instead

This place virtually takes me back to the 1960s when my mum would stop at a place called«Red Barn» to buy me a hot dog as a treat. Back then, fast food places were a luxury and we really couldn’t afford to eat out much, living on a military salary with my dad out to sea. Burger Barn’s building reminds me a lot of Red Barn. It has a small dining room, along with some outdoor seating. My buddy and I looked over the menu for a while. They have some extra items just as you enter from Winchester Blvd. Between burgers and pastrami, I chose clam strips. $ 6.99 seems a reasonable price for clam strips and fries. The strawberry milk shake was $ 2.59, I believe. That’s not bad. My buddy chose a burger, fries, and soda. Everything came, with tax, to just under $ 20.00. It took a while, and the woman behind the counter was running food out to customers. I wondered if the drinks were waiting for the food and she said a couple of times«I haven’t forgotten your milk shake», so I must have looked impatient. Oops. When the food arrived, I was disappointed that the fries and sauces took most of the plate and the clam strips were a small portion. Still, the food was good, and service was better than okay.

it’s difficult to review this place: it’s good in its own level: hashbrown was fresh and yummy, eggs were cooked well, patty was good. it took longer than food to get my tea! BUT everything is in the most basic level: paper plates and cups, plastic utensils, tea is either green or lipton!, they cannot poach eggs. there are one small basket of sugar at cashier. Prices are slightly higher than what you see in images. they also accept credit cards without extra charge.

The burgers are alright, nothing really stands out at me about this place though. The guy taking our order was pretty cool, he seemed very down to earth, but the service was so slow for us and it wasn’t even very crowded. Two of the people that were behind us in line had got their food before us. I’m unsure why because all we ordered were two burgers and nothing else. The food was okay, it really didn’t taste very fresh or juicy at all and most likely they freeze the meat here. One good thing about this place is that you can get a lot of food for cheap I guess, although personally I would rather pay a bit more for food that is higher quality. My verdict, find somewhere better to eat around the city, simple as that.

Had the breakfast here and its pretty bad. Cooked with shorening and margarine. Only thing halfway ok is the pancakes. Trys Bills café instead

everything here is pretty good. it doesn’t all taste homemade or fresh — maybe half a step up from ihop but it is a mom and pop restaurant so at least you get to support a local business. Definitely recommend the sandwiches over the breakfast. also a plus that its never too busy.

Average food but awesome ambiance. Support a local business and give this place a shot! The food in general was not the best I’ve ever had, but it hit the spot and eating in a «barn» was a fun and interesting experience. This is a quirky location that is perfect for families to enjoy, and they even offer a variety of menu items such as burgers, seafood, and breakfast all day!

To the dude making the food; When I tell you I think the burger buns might be going stale, it’s not meant to be a challenge. It’s for the benefit of the next guy ordering a burger. I have nothing to gain here. I already paid for, and ate it. Most people won’t bother giving you feedback, they’ll just stop coming in altogether.

Couldn’t stomach more then a few bites of their hash browns and sausage. Even Dennys seems far superior. Hash browns were drenched in margarine. It wasn’t the cheapest meal at least use butter. Bleh.

My coworker wanted to take me here someday since I love burgers. We decided to go on our lunch time and ordered takeout. The employee was nice over the phone. He had our orders ready on time. The way the restaurant was decorated reminds me of the classic 80s. The burgers and fries are old school with the classis taste.

Checked out this place on a whim, and also because I tend to love places with names like BURGERBARN. This is very much a greasy spoon kinda place; while the food is delicious it’s certainly not gourmet, nor is there a wide selection. I ordered a California omelette, after a helpful suggestion from the staff. The ingredients tasted fresh and I very much enjoyed my food.

Worst service we’ve ever experienced. We ordered our food and sat down to wait. After about 20 minutes we noticed people who came in after us received their food, but not us. They didn’t even give us our drinks. We asked and were told«Oh, we must have skipped your order.» No apology. After 15 more minutes they finally brought us water and told us they were out of a drink we ordered. Again, not even an apology, just a refund for the cost of the drink. After another 15 minutes they brought our food, which was typical low-budget diner food, but not too bad, except for the bacon which was horrible — about 95% fat. I don’t like to leave such bad reviews, but this place really deserved it.

Decent place… a throwback to yesteryear. I ordered the CA burger and onion rings. Onion rings-good flavor. Definitely frozen and not made on the premises. However, it was made with whole onion rings, not the finely ground onion«mix». CA burger-¼ pounder with a good amount of avocado and grilled onions. It was a little light on the tomato though. The sourdough bread was a nice touch reminding us of where we are(SF, duh!). Overall flavor was ok, nothing Earth shattering. Value-$ 12 seemed a little high but the burger itself was $ 5.89. The price of the rings($ 3) and medium Diet Coke($ 2.59) is what did it! Super Duper would have been a better choice but I didn’t want to deal with the crowds!

First time here after living in the neighborhood more than 15 years. The location and ambiance are both great. It’s such a perfect alternative to Valley Fair’s and Santana Row’s polish. The service was very friendly and attentive. They even brought our water to the table when we forgot it. Typical burger/hot dog joint fare with fish and chips and breakfast all day, too. Try the California burger and chili fries. Both yummy!

I generally treat myself out every Friday. I always treat myself out the Friday before my birthday. Last year I took the kids to Lunchbox but this year I am in a financial bind so I Unilocaled what was not only nearby but cheap as well. Right next to Krung Thai. This place has a very small parking lot. The menu offers a variety at an affordable price. Breakfast served all day! What?! I love that. Classic American eats: hot dogs, corn dogs, chili dogs, burgers, cheeseburgers, nuggets, milkshakes, Philly cheesesteaks, fries, fried mushrooms, etc. I had an instant liking to this place because the guy behind the counter was friendly and sincere from the get go. A lot of time for me it is the service more than the price and overall turnout of my meal. I ordered: a corn dog, an order of fries, a hamburger, and a Philly cheesesteak. The fries came w/my Philly but I wouldn’t order the fries again; frozen from a bag. The burger was for my daughter but it looked appealing, she didn’t have a single complaint. The corn dog is very small, probably from the frozen food section, too. That was for my little man whom took off all the batter to eat the dog itself. My Philly cheesesteak was extremely juicy and tender but rather bland. It needed a lot more provolone(wish Cheez Whiz was offered though). My one complaint is the roll. Not a fancy place by all means but if you are craving any of the items listed in this review and want a good value meal then this place is surely it! My birthday celebration continues!
