Da Underground Tat-2

Let’s just say i wrote the previous review due to my lack of knowledge about quality tattoos!
I got my 3 tattoo’s at Darius’s 2 shops along with a good friend of mine when we were in high school (17 yrs old)
this shop was know to be the place for youngins’ to get tatted up w/​out having to bust out that ID. so yes, that is the MAIN reason why we came here, Oh, and also cause his prices were reasonable!
honestly, back then i just wanted to get tatted, i was fresh to all this so i really couldn’t tell the difference between top notch or lousy work!
SO. my friend got half a sleeve with leopard print and a sparrow…
she still has it, but its not her best tattoo.
i got a crown, a dove, and a buddhist phrase on my back for about under $ 500 for about 6 – 8 hours of work. (i forgot)
SO for the past 2 years i’ve been contemplating about doing something with these lousy tats i have, they weren’t detailed enough, the shading was blotchy and the lines were off, and for the crown it looked blurred cause the lines were too thick and close together.
FINALLY. about 6 months ago i’ve been working on a full back piece COVER UP.
i visited many renowned artists that turned me down cause the tats were too dark and it wouldn’t look right.
many suggested i get laser removal first than come back… seriously? why the hell pay thousands and have to go through that burning skin sensation?!!
if an artist were really skilled he/​she would do it.
i found an artist that was willing to work on my cover up.
he said the guy who did my original tatts fked up cause he tatted too deep and its RAISED! YES, I BARELY realized IT DOES LOOK FKN RAISED!!!
NO wonder why people always asked if my tat was fresh! i never knew wtf they were referring too. they would even feel it and say its fresh. im like, okay 5 years ago is FRESH TO ya’ll?
damnit. i wish i could have done this over, i would have never stepped foot in this place and got 3 shitty low budget tatttooss… i really got what i paid for.
i bet your probably thinking why i came back 3 times then? well it was 3 times in the same year! so i was still young n naïve!
I SUGGEST U find a legit tat place and pay a bit more for quality work, there are lots of good places in the bay! esp; Frisco

I loved my experience here. Ricky did my second tattoo and finished my first one. they came out just the way I wanted them to. now I’m thinking about getting a piercing done.

should be minus 20 stars. pure HATE is what I have for this place. came here one day after work with 50bucks and made the worse mistake of my life that will be on my hip forever. don’t remember the name of the guy who did my tat, but he was a creep and all of his friends were creepy as well. nasty totally UNCLEAN shop. you’ve been warned.

If yall looking for some DOPE tattoo artist this is the place to go. Darius free hand skills are DOPE and shoots up a good price. Everywhere i go peeps ask who did my ink and give up mad props for his art. So if you want some ink done check out DA UNDERGROUND TAT-​2.

THIS PLACE IS HORRRIBBBLLLEEE.
White guy did my tattoo, a simple Kanji for love and i wanted it in the middle of my back on my spine. I explained to him exactly where i wanted it and gave him the picture. Not only did he make it hurt like hell but he also made it crooked and did not even stay in the lines.
I have to say that I learned, you get what you pay for. It’s cheap but you’re paying for something that will be on your body forever. Never again.
Had to go to another tattoo shop to fix it, thanks to viet it looks amazing now.

first off these people complaining are crazy!!! i get people asking about my tattoo daily!!! in act il be giving myself an early xmas present and have darius hook me up! hes a talented dude and im honored to have his work on me! thanks again d! ive recommended this spot to many friends and d has become the only dude id get work done by… if i could add more stars i would!

I don’t know why the other people are writing bad reviews, maybe their picky ass customers, but this place is AWESOME. Darius has officially become my MAIN and ONLY tattoo artist. Everytime I need work done, and he’s booked throughout the day, he STILL fits me in his schedule, and ALWAYS hooks me up with a good price. I trust him enough now to free-​hand ALL my tattoo’s, and they’ve ALL come out DOPE. People always ask me, «DAMN, who did your tattoo?» And I definitely recommend this place to EVERYONE. Yeah, this place is small, but it’s a tattoo shop. You come for your artwork, not to be pampered in classy ass chairs with people serving you tea while you wait, so STFU!
A lot of people come here sometimes to just chill with the artists, which is totally fine, because everyone here is super friendly. I’m pleased with all my artwork done by Darius, pleased with the prices, pleased with the customer service, and I have no negative comments on this place. I officially become a loyal customer.
And if you were overcharged, stop being a dick then. Get to know the guys, and you never know, you may get hooked up! Or bring them some starbucks or something, LOL.

I was over-​priced for my first tattoo. $ 60 bucks for something really small, barely two inches high and it wasn’t even complicated. Forgot who was my tattoo artist but I don’t really care. It was ridiculous because the person after me paid $ 40 for some huge ass shooting stars on her neck, which were not even cute. And this place is super small and looks unsanitary. I wouldn’t recommend coming here.

underground tat is the best shop in town. all u hating ass people need to shut the fuck up… and go conplain else where… ricky is the best… keep up the good work…

Ricky did my first tattoo of my son’s foot prints, name and date of birth on my should and my second tat of my zodiac on my wrist. I completely love my tattooes and I want more!!! He was quick and they turned out great. I’m completely happy with them.

Darius is worth the price of admission!
I was unsure of what I wanted except that I knew I wanted some cover up work done so what does Darius do??? Takes my arm and freehands a tribal piece! Dude is talented! Once I figure out how to post a pic I will! But seriously, family and friends see his piece and want to schedule an appointment!
Yeah, yeah, yeah, the exterior might not be glamorous and Santana row but it’s a tattoo parlor not a beauty salon… They use sterille equipment and friendly enviorement! I suggest u make ur own judgment and step up to get some work done.

I was here when they first opened.
A whole bunch of friends of mine went here for our first ink.
Damn…the beginning of the end as it were.
I do recall the place being kind of small but @ the time everything was nice and clean. Kind of reminded me something out of old school Americana era with the linoleum. Back then they didn’t accept C/C…but I suppose the do now. The décor needed updating but I wasn’t there for that. I was about to start down a journey of painful art appreciation.
1 & 2 — I remember I got two small ones done on both arms by a new guy (he was cool but he took a long time for such a small piece).
3 & 4– Then I remember coming back to get more elaborate ones around the first ones (I don’t quite remember who did these there — either the owner or monk).
5– Then I came back again for a large piece across the back (which was done by monk).
I don’t know what it was that brought me back to those guys… I just felt comfortable… it’s too bad what I have heard about them as of late. But based on my experience there — namely with Monk (who I hear has moved to another shop) — I’m now addicted to ink.

I got two tattoos here when I was 18 & stupid. I originally was gonna go to other shops but I didn’t have the money for it so I ended up here. Bad idea. I got plumerias on my hip but they ended up looking like water colored flowers. And my saying on my back turned out nice at first but it needs touching up bad. I’ve gotten the flowers covered up and soon the second one will be covered with my current piece or maybe touched up by my current artist. I really don’t recommend going here. The shop isn’t clean & the tattoos don’t come out to what you expect.

I got my first tattoo here. I wanted a tribal design but looking at it, it looks like something that was made up. Im planning on getting it redone at humble beginnings.
