Flamingo Mexican Resturant

Not really impressed): I had a carne asada burrito and it was flavorful but the amount of oil that pooled at the bottom made me lose my appetite. Nice staff and it’s spacious inside but I wouldn’t ever crave this place or go out of my way to go here.

I was looking for a place for a late lunch (2pm). Saw the new banner and 5 tables of people eating so I decided to give it a try. Based on the servers recommendation (I think she was the owner) I ordered the pork shoulder burrito. As I was waiting for my food I checked Unilocal and saw only one review with a one star rating. Shit!
The restaurant’s AC apparently wasn’t working because it was HOT in the restaurant. They had the doors opened but it didn’t help much.
You can tell the chips and salsa was made in house. The chips were a bit oily and the salsa had a smoky flavor to it. I’ve never had smoky salsa but, I kinda liked it.
The burrito came out and to my disappointment it wasn’t wrapped in foil. This is a big pet peeve of mine. If the burrito isn’t wrapped, all the goodness is gonna come falling out onto your plate. You’re left only holding the tortilla. Flavor wise, the previous reviewer was correct. The burrito didn’t have much flavor. Given this was a recommendation from the owner/​employee I expected more.
Overall, I’m taking points away for broken AC, no foil and flavor. I noticed four people order their steak sandwich. If i return, I may give that a try.

So gloria’s use to be here and Gloria’s was the best mexican food around this area. This new place opened up a few weeks ago and it is horrible. I can make better food then they do. It has no flavor at all. The chicken isn’t even seasoned! Do not go here unless you want plain food and be disapointed!
