This was my second time coming back. I like their food. My chicken sandwich was good and their garlic fries were delicious! I like that there’s a few different sizes you can order beer in. The beer menu was a little weird to look at but that’s not a big deal. Overall I really like this place and I’m sure I’ll come back.

I’ve been at a few Gordon Biersch, and the beer was ok and the food manageable, but today’s visit was a disaster. First of all, the beer flyer is plastered with Reinheitsgebot this and that all over. Ordered a Hefeweizen, and come to find it’s made with Raspberry purée or some nonsense. But the food, omg. Grilled Steak salad — steak overcooked and 2 of the 6 tiny slices were all grizzle. I ordered the $ 6 add-on of skewered shrimp — three tiny shrimp cooked to hell like I’ve never seen before. One shrimp even fell apart when I picked up the skewer. The guy next to me had seafood carbonara, and the ahi tuna was inedible, overcooked to the consistency of pebbles. It was a corporate event and I didn’t have to pay, but I’ll be dammed if I ever set foot into this place again.

Lots of drinkable house brews to choose from, and I like the fact that you can do sampler platters. Servers and bartenders, like Jennifer, are also friendly, efficient, and on point. The food offerings, meanwhile, were simply decent and what you’d expect of typical bar food. Overall, not a bad place to visit if you’re familiar with Gordon Biersch’s brews and want to try more than just widely-available ones like the Marzen.

3 ½ Stars! I brought 9 friends into this restaurant late in the evening on a Tuesday night and they seated us quickly. Water came quickly(which I like). Service was friendly and brisk(they were also getting ready to close within the hour). I ordered a manhattan(while my friends ordered various beers and sodas), I then ordered their Seafood Carbonara, which had shrimp, salmon and tuna sautéed with pancetta, served in a creamy parmesan sauce over linguini with tomatoes and snap peas. Topped with a fried egg, italian cheeses and green onions. When you break the egg, the yoke blends in with the sauce. It was quite good and filling althought it was a little heavy with the green onion. I’ve been here several times with various sized groups, always an enjoyable experience. Solid chain.

We’ve kind of avoided this place even though it is super close to our home, but we were wrong! We went here tonight after Christmas in the park and loved it! The sausage platter, apple slaw and pub sauce are to die for. Bonus star: They do specials on growlers so you can take their beer home!

Dark, cold early Sunday afternoon. Just saw The Force Awakens at the The Tech, hungry! I used the eat there often when I worked in the area. I haven’t been in at least 5 – 6 years. About 1pm, not too busy. We were seated right away. Our waiter was quickly there to get our drink orders. Great selection of beers! When our waiter came by again, we ordered our food. Nice offering of starters, salads, burgers, pasta, tacos, fish & chips … you get the idea. 3 of us ordered burgers, 1 ordered a chicken sandwich. 3 orders of the garlic fries, and an order of sweet potato fries. Order was out in about 10 minutes. 2 of the burgers came out with cheese, these were ordered without cheese. Quickly fixed! My black & bleau was a perfect medium-rare as ordered. The other burgers with medium as requested. The garlic fries are awesome! I didn’t try the sweet potato fries since I’m not a fan, but I noticed that there wasn’t a plate with anything left when we were done. Great service without being over the top, Tv screens for the games, great beer, great food and great service! Cheers!

SHRM@SJSU officer Christmas party dinner. Also, celebrating the senior graduates!!! Yassssssssss!!! So, if you have difficult time finding parking across the street, you can still park at the Safeway garage and they’ll validate your parking ticket. The restaurant is pretty big, which is good for large parties. There are plenty of beers to choose from. I recommend the Marzen or the Blond Boch(only if you like the bitter after taste). The food is average. I ordered the Chicken Schnitzel and it was good. Surprisingly, the dish had capers which I hate but it turned out to be okay.

Horrible. The food is just absolutely terrible here! I went four different times over the past month before I posted this review, thinking maybe they would redeem themselves. Nope. It is consistently terrible. I ordered a chicken dish. Our waitress was fine, attentive and checked in with us often. Which was great but the food was atrocious! I have attached some pictures of the breaded chicken which was served. No taste and so little quantity, given the cost of the meal. Waitress/Service = 5 Stars Food = –10 Stars Restaurant = 2

Winter 1997 It was a wet winter, and this is when I started coming to Gordon Biersch. I was dating my know wife. We would gather here, drink gallons of beer and listen to Wally’s Swing World and what other live bands were playing. If we were all doing great, we’d hit the back door into the Flying Pig! Who remember the Flying Pig and the code!!! Beer– Always good and fresh! Brewed on location! Various styles of German beers such as Pilsner, Mai Bock, Marzen, Blond Bock, Golden Export just to name a few. There was a time when the brew master, guy with dreadlocks tried too much. Organic, low cal. The beer wasn’t GB. But lately it’s back on track! Food– I enjoy the appetizers! The Garlic Fries, Sliders. oh the Kobe Sliders-remember those?! The Wings are alway great! The Pizzas… Can’t go wrong with the BBQ Chicken Pizza! A Perfect dish to get and to share! The Burgers… Can’t really go wrong with a burger. The Streaks are great! You can have it topped with a gorgonzola goodness. So rich! Tapping Parties– Mostly held outside in the beer garden. I’ve been to several over the years and they are a good time! Don’t forget to bring your stein!!! Or buy one there, so that you have one for the next tapping party. The Bar– A great place to watch sports and hang out with the crew after work or before heading elsewhere! As long as Dougie doesn’t sit next to you! Parking– There is a lot across the street and out back next to the beer garden. The do validate! Tonight 12÷05÷15, it was the first time that my Wife & I brought our girls! We both went down memory lane! Reflecting on some great times we have had.

Opted for bar seating which is first come first serve. Found a table with one chair and immediately, without question a guy comes by with a second chair. Decent Happy Hour drink selections and appetizers. Beer: –Belgian Blonde: fruity and crispy. Nice finish. –Märzen: malty Appetizers: –French dip sliders: order of 3(shareable for $ 13.99, $ 2 off during HH). Served with house made chips and a herb au jus. –NOLA Yellowfin Tuna: creole crusted seared tuna with a carrot, cucumber and snap pea salad. $ 7.25, $ 2 off during HH. –Garlic Fries: tossed in olive oil, topped with fresh minced garlic and parsley. Crispy, crunchy, garlicky goodness!!! $ 2.99 during HH. Waitress was attentive and friendly. Place was clean. Would love to come back, maybe when it’s not so cold outside. Cheers!

My cousin’s bridal party had just left the Wedding expo at the Fairmont when we stumbled across Gordon Biersch, desperate for some nourishment after unwillingly skipping lunch. Have a nice dinner, they said. We were seated immediately and drinks arrived quickly: two iced waters and three beers. I don’t actually drink beer but I took a sip of Belgium blonde, not bad. Dani was a dear, easy to talk to, and checked on us frequently with a water pitcher at the ready. No lie, I had enough time to count how many people were in the restaurant while we waited for food, about thirty patrons, give or take, some were seated at the bar watching the 49er game. We were so hungry. Funny how what I ordered was the exact dish another Unilocaler warned readers not to order because of its miniature size. I debated on the beer infused mushroom chicken versus bow tie pasta with cream sauce. Well there was one lone mushroom. Good thing I requested seasonal veggies over grilled asparagus because I filled up on the sautéed zucchini and squash. I wondered where my included mashed potatoes were only to be told they were underneath the three small pieces of chicken. I used my fork to take a peak. Uh? Potatoes, are you hiding somewhere else? Dani took action and brought me a side dish of spuds while also grabbing my friend her sweet potato fries after the kitchen dished out regular fries instead. Someone else’s mashed potatoes were cold but that was taken care of. The burgers were good, according to some friends, sliders as well. However, their potato chips on the side were stale and unsalted! I wasn’t impressed with the garlic fries either. Add more sautéed garlic, toss and coat evenly with extra at the top, perhaps? Despite my $ 16.99 three piece chicken’s size, the meat texture was fine and beer infused sauce = tasty. Will they ever add more mushrooms? Food and service are fine. Does the food wait time depend on the dishes we order? I noticed the family at the table next to ours got their kid’s pizza and chicken tenders within fifteen minutes instead of half an hour. If anything, they’re smart to feed the kids first.

Gordon Biersch is your standard middle ground for chain restaurant and brewery. You know what you are going to get, plus it will provide a festive atmosphere. I ordered the spring chicken salad with one of their dunklewisen beers on tap. The salad was a good side with a delicious dressing and a decent amount of chicken. The beer was also refreshing and had a good amount of flavor.

This is another 3.5 star type of place, but I like being generous and since we can’t give half stars. I’ll go for the full 4 stars. What this place mainly has going for it is the brews. Everyone knows Gordon Biersch for their beers, so you can probably guess that this is what they are going to excel at. Their beers are good, great even, so if you come here and don’t get a beer, then you’re making a mistake. The food and service has always been spotty. Nothing exceptional. Haven’t been here in a few years until yesterday and was surprised to find out that they got ride of the lobster burger. That was my favorite! Oh well. They still have plenty of beef burgers though. Nothing overly special though. For an up charge of $ 3.5 they will give you a different type of «kobe» beef. My cousin ordered one that way and when I said I wanted mine cooked the same way, she must have heard as saying I want it with kobe beef as well. So I ended up having to cough a few extra dollars when the bill came even though my paddy was half the size of my cousins patty. Unfortunately I had to take it out of her tip which is something I don’t enjoy doing. Besides this mistake, it was a good experience, but I think I can wait another few years before coming again.

This was a lovely little restaurant. I was impressed with the outside seating area. I came here with a girlfriend for dinner on a Friday night. We ordered the tacos and the Tuscan chicken pasta. It was overall a great meal. What I didn’t appreciate was how long it took for the server to take our order for both drinks and dinner. The restaurant wasn’t too crowded and it looked like everyone else there had already been served. That was a little annoying. Other than that it was a good dining experience. The food was flavorful and you got a big serving. Had I not planned on drinking afterwards, I would have taken some food home for sure. I recommend the peach martini. Two of those and I was feeling pretty good. :)

So disappointed. Came here for a departmental lunch and spent over $ 230. I was so embarrassed. Ordered the beer mushroom chicken for $ 16.99. What was delivered was three glorified chicken nuggets, burnt asparagus and one tiny slice of mushroom with about 2 teaspoons of sauce. I only give 2 stars because the beer is still good. Not sure I will take my team here again.
