Island Moves Sonny’s Place Hawaiian Store

From the outside, I can see they have a great selection of merchandise. I went twice during their posted business hours and both times they were closed. :(
I emailed them and got a PROMPT response with an apology and explanation that they are volunteer driven at which point I was able to turn my frown upside down :)
I suggest calling or emailing before heading over.

Drove 45 miles to San Jose to buy a dress for my daughters Hawaiian themed Homecoming dance. Unfortunately they were closed!!! The business hours reflected that they were open from 11:30am to 1:30pm and that it reopens again at 5:15pm. The Unilocal app also indicated that they were open! Very disappointing.

They have alot of pretty clothing and flower hair clips, but no leis, which is what I went for, of course. Also, when I went the sign on the door said Closed, but they were actually open, so just try the door.

Found myself in a pickle while in the area. Needed a gift & for a person who loves all things island style. Thanks to Unilocal we discovered this little gem. The storefront is the front area of a halau/​studio. But it doesn’t mean they skimp on their inventory. We found amazing gifts & then some. It beats waiting for the local hawaiian festivals, ordering online or even hauling the goods back from da islands. The mark up isn’t extreme, more competitive to where you can count on heading back when in the market for island gifts or even just to shop for yourself. The only thing left is for them to offer frozen foods & snacks. But I can’t be too greedy I’ll take what I can get & continue my journey elsewhere for that jackpot.

I love it here the merchandise is priced good, its like shopping in Hawai’i. Dresses, shirts, bags, gifts, lei, hula supply, beautiful better than ABC store quality stuff, friendly staff knowledgeable about Hawaiian culture and all things Hawaiian. Has a halau in the back as well, very good location plenty parking, don’t ship from Hawai’I see if they have it first, I found my wedding dress in here. got to try it on right away. love the hula dolls, and the dresses, lots of gifts, and pretty much at the same price you find in Hawaii, so not overpriced.
