Our experience working with Joe to purchase our new home was absolutely terrific. He really took our interests, needs and wants as if they were his own. Purchasing a new home is certainly an exciting and significant milestone, which can also be extremely frustrating these days, particularly in markets with very high demand and little inventory, like San Jose, CA; however, getting help from Joe, completely negated all the possible frustrations and transformed our end-​to-​end home-​buying process into a very pleasurable experience. His guidance on getting our home ready for listing was exceptional. He took the time to answer every question we had and was very caring during moments of sadness in selling our family home. We hired Joe Rodriguez as our realtor, and our experience with him was extraordinary: in all of our considerably complex process, he was attentive, caring, professional, patient and above all, a true advocate for us! We had a very specific wish list, which included some items that I frankly thought would be impossible to find. I am a dance instructor, and my dream was to find a home with a space that could be transformed into a studio, preferably with a separate entrance. Not only that, but we also wanted a home with a playroom near the kitchen (so I could keep an eye on the kids while cooking), at least 3 bedrooms but ideally 4, so we could have a home office, 2 full baths, in a good school district with an optimal commute for my husband, within our price point. This was a tall order, and Joe delivered! On the very first day he took me to look at houses, he showed me a home that had everything on our list. Not only that, but because of his excellent business acumen and negotiating skills, we were not only able to make our offer contingent upon the seller paying for significant repairs, but also to purchase our home for under the asking price!
Throughout our transaction, Joe was consistently available to answer questions, provide support, and explain terminology/​paperwork. His wife, Monica Montelongo-​Rodriguez, provided the financing for our purchase as our mortgage officer, and exhibited the same degree of compassionate professionalism, making herself available to us beyond work hours and on weekends.
As a team, you could not ask for more-​Joe and Monica are fantastic, and we now count them as our friends. We heartily recommend them both to anyone looking to purchase and finance a home. They are the best of the best!

My fiancé and I were looking to buy our first home, and we are so happy that a friend referred us to Joe. Our inexperience with real estate was compounded by the fact that neither of us is native to the Bay Area, and so we were lucky to have an agent as experienced and thorough as Joe is.
From day one, Joe took extra time to explain every step of the transaction to us to ensure we fully understood everything that was being done. He was supremely professional, a trait that was noted not only by us, but also by other agents to whom we submitted offers. Our house search started in June when my husband received a job offer that uprooted us from Las Vegas and brought us to the Bay Area. We knew we would have temporary housing available to us until October, but that didn’t stop Joe Rodriguez from treating us like VIPs from Day 1.
For reference, my husband and I had a home in Las Vegas and have dealt with a handful of other realtors before we were fortuitously assigned to Joe. Compared to other realtors, Joe is a 5-​star professional, showing up to properties early so that he can preview homes as well as neighborhoods. He’s very detail-​oriented (we once walked out of a property and were really excited about it until Joe pointed out that it didn’t have a laundry room!) and genuinely wants the best for his clients. At no point in our 4-​month home search did we ever feel rushed or forced into a property we weren’t absolutely committed to.
He was relentless in finding us a home that we loved while keeping within our modest budget. He went into homes with us as if he were buying the homes himself, opening every door, turning on every light and listening for any hint of traffic noise. He called, emailed and texted as soon as he heard anything back from home sellers and always maintained a personal touch when it came to remembering things we mentioned in passing. He was present for every inspection, document signing and walk through and even outstaged our Escrow officer when explaining our documents in terms we were more familiar with!
After 30+ home visits, 2 bids, and one successful offer, we are finally moving into our home, thanks to Joe! Joe has set a high expectation for others in his profession and we will be referring him enthusiastically to all our friends and family in the Bay Area.
