I was in the area and noticed that their front window said custom Hawaiian clothing. I was in need for a traditional Pa’u(Hawaiian skirt) so I decided to give it a try versus doing it myself. I finally came in, walked through a karaōke section and entered the back sewing area. I felt great as I saw a lot of traditional Tongan and Samoan dresses, but when I showed her a picture, and had written directions, baby girl refused to do it. She said it was too hard. I told her it wasn’t as you just need to sew it straight through and feed in elastic. There was even a point where I told her, «okay fine, I will feed the elastic in the waistband». You can’t claim to specialize in islander clothing when you can make a super simple traditional Hawaiian skirt; baetter yet, not even try!

Can we give her 0STARS??? Brought in material to have her sew a traditional Samoan Dress. She’s done a few other dresses for my family and I in the past. Came in and gave her a picture of the design I wanted, she shot it down and said it was too fancy and she could not do it. She suggested I look around and let her know of another design that I like in the store. So I look and find a design that I like and she says again that it is too fancy and she won’t do it. I need this dress for a wedding in 2 weeks, and offer to pay double($ 120) and she was still unhelpful. Couldn’t even really say much other than no. It didn’t seem like she wanted to help me ATALL. My family has been giving her our business since she was sewing in her garage, how could she be so rude and unhelpful now? Since I was in High School, I’m 28 now! I urge you to give your business to other seamstress’ and tailors with better customer service. She must have people CRAWLING at her doors for her business, that she could be so rude to us. We will never be using Kim’s sorry services again. Incredibly RUDE

Wow, what an experience. Yesterday, I brought my son’s Martial Art’s Gi Pants to have it taken up. I explained that I DIDNOT want to cut the pants, because he was a 7 year old growing boy. I explained it emphatically, because she only nodded her head. I wasn’t sure if she understood me, so I was about to repeat it again, but before I could, she repeated, «Yes, yes, don’t cut pants, just hem up so you can lower later» I said, «yes» and felt a little embarrassed and apologized. Hindsight is clearly 20⁄20. I should’ve made sure there were notes on my receipt, because as I look back, I realized that she didn’t write anything down other than taking my name and handing me a receipt. Today, I walked in and to my dismay, she cut the pants. She cut away approximately 2.5 inches. Her reasoning to me was that she didn’t understand, suddenly her English was severely broken and her accent was extremely prevalent. I called her out and suddenly her near perfect English came out. I explained that I wasn’t going to pay and that she should pay to replace the pants. She slammed my money back on the counter and told me that she would not pay to replace the pants then yelled at me to leave and never to come back. No worries, I won’t. Now, this review is simply on her tailoring side of the business. I couldn’t tell you anything about the fabric that she sells. She seems to have a lot to choose from and seems to have a lot of ethnic based fabric as well. Again hindsight, I should have done more diligence and researched Unilocal.Needless to say, I won’t be back. Don’t get me wrong, I believe in 2nd chances, however her handling of this situation was egregious and unprofessional to say the least. I’m disappointed that her resolve was to simply to never come back. I personally like to support local businesses, however in this case, save yourself the grief and look for a place that is already established and on Unilocal.I had to create this business which was to my detriment. Lesson learned.
