This last spring I was volunteering at my grandson’s elementary school in San Jose. Kona Ice happened to be there that day when the kids got out of school. They were so excited and just RAN for that truck! The line was HUGE, and I was so impressed with how quickly they got those Kona’s out! I had one myself and they’re nothing like the typical «snow cone»! The ice is very fine and the syrup stays in the ice instead of flowing all the way through to the bottom, like a snow cone.
I don’t normally write reviews but I wanted to give kudos to the owners because I was so impressed with their product, their friendliness, the fast service and the super clean truck! Plus they even give back 25% to the school! What a great deal for the schools!

We had this for a weekend work event once, and it was pretty cool. They parked on the street and served snow cones; the syrup is outside the truck so we got to pick our own flavors and mix however we want. The snow cones is basically mashed snow, and the flavors are syrup. I didn’t get too much syrup because I didn’t want it to be too sweet, and the ice held up pretty nicely and didn’t melt too quickly. Cool shaved ice truck, though I’m personally not a big fan of it.

If I can give Dave more than 5 stars I would. I had Kona Ice WSJ come to my son’s 8th birthday party and it was a huge hit! All the kids (including the parents) were so excited. The truck showed up playing a hawaiian version of happy birthday song and Dave (owner) had the biggest smile on his face. Dave gave each of the kids a cup of shaved ice and the kids can go to the side an use the flavor dispensers themself and put whatever flavor they want on the ice. It was SO awesome! There was hawaiian music playing the whole time so the parents were saying it felt like they were on a mini tropical vacation right at the park :)
The birthday boys got free t-​shirts and each of the kids at the party got leis. Dave also made snowballs with the shaved ice and had a snowball fight with all the kids. He interacted so well with the kids and they loved him. I am definitely having them back again for another event! They were definitely the TALK OF THE PARTY! I am so glad I found Kona Ice WSJ!

I had a chance to try Kona Ice during the Polynesian Festival in Foster City. On a hot day, it is the perfect thing to have!!!
The snow cones were made quick, tasty and were priced great.
I wanted to talk to the vendor more, but all the children were trying to get some!

We had Kona Ice come to my daughters birthday party, and it was so great! Jenni and Dave were so great with all the kids! It’s not your typical «snow cone.» It was also so so much better and fun for the kids than your average cake or cupcake. Will definitely have them come again!

Kona Ice West San Jose is so easy to work with! We’ve had them out to our middle school twice already this school year. I love the fact they do EVERYTHING! you just tell them where to park and they take it from there! Plus at the end of your event you get sent a check! Where else can you make money for your group/​school/​sports team like that? Great flavors, low sugar and no mess involved. The Kona Ice truck brings a fun vibe to any occasion. It’s a pleasure working with Jenni and Dave, we love supporting a locally owned company that gives back to the community. Thanks so much Kona Ice!

) is SO great to work with. They give back such a large percentage for your event. I’m encouraging all of my mom/​dad-​PTA friends to schedule Kona Ice West San Jose to raise money for their schools. It’s SO easy. Even my daughter’s high school in Cupertino wants to hire them to raise money for clubs. Their ices are nutritious, tasty and it’s so easy to have them come to your event. The owners are super!

We had Kona Ice for my daughter’s 7th birthday and it was just perfect! The kids loved that they could do their own flavors and the owner couldn’t have been nicer and professional. Such a fun treat at a very reasonable price. Would highly recommend!
