I had an appointment last week with Dr. Sophia Mohammad, where I asked about a dermatology referral. She was very personable, empathetic about my situation, and efficient. She assured me she would send in a paper referral that day to the medical group so I could see a dermatologist ASAP. She said if I didn’t receive a letter from my insurance in 2 weeks, I could give her a call. She also said she would email me that evening confirming that she did indeed send in the referral. I thanked her, I left. Great experience.
I did not receive a confirmation e-​mail that night, but didn’t think too much of it. A week passes, and my insurance lets me know they have not received a referral from Dr. Sophia. I wanted to confirm that Dr. Sophia actually sent in the paper referral. I knew it hadn’t been two weeks and wasn’t expecting the referral to be fully processed yet, I just wanted to check to make sure the letter had been sent, and the process had started.
Having worked in several doctor offices, I know this is fairly fast and easy to check, so I called the office and the assistant/​receptionist WAS SO RUDE. I honestly feel like crying right now because I have never been treated like that. I wasn’t being pushy or rude at all. I’ve been working in medical offices for years and I know what it’s like when patients are rude or unclear, so I was being very polite and nice. The receptionist kept cutting me off and saying things like:
«It takes 2 weeks for the doctor to send in a referral!» (Even though Dr. Sophia said she would send it that night — the receptionist wouldn’t listen.)
«You can’t just call in to rush your doctor! You have to trust your doctor!»
«I’m not going to check. If she said she would send it that night, she sent it that night.»
I just wanted to check, it’s not that uncommon or a big deal! Obviously, she was extremely unwilling to just put me on hold, check my file, and see if the referral was sent. During my appt, Dr. Sophia had stressed that I could call her if I wanted to check in, or had any concerns about seeing a dermatologist, or had any questions at all. She was so so friendly. The receptionist made it very clear that those kind of inquiries are NOT welcome or appreciated. She said I couldn’t talk to the doctor, nor did she let me leave a message for her. She just hung up on me. The way doctors and staff at this office treat patients should really be on the same page. I wouldn’t describe this office as patient friendly AT ALL, even though the actual doctor was amazing. I wouldn’t have called in if I didn’t think it was totally okay and welcome — because Dr. Sophia told me I could.
So incredibly disappointed because I really like Dr. Sophia, and now I am going to hate going back to the office because of the assistant or receptionist. Can’t believe that just happened.

I went here for a checkup and the staff are not the friendliest, but they did not take too long. The waiting room inside the place is not too big either. The chairs are not as comfortable as other family practices either. I scheduled an appointment as well so I was assuming they would take me in right away. However there were about four people in front of me which I did not understand because everyone has an appointment. i probably waited 25min max and then it was finally my turn. On the the other hand Doctor Sophia Mohammad is very friendly and explains what she is going to do and she explains every step she does. In the end there is a ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ chance I will come back to this practice and hope next time that when I make an appointment it would be more quicker than the first time I went.

Dr. Mohammad! On point, calm, cool and collective! Dr. — patient relationship since the first visit… my youngest children have attended 5 years now. Since my eldest became an adult a few fees ago, now my grandson is a client instead of his mama now!

I called to see about scheduling an appt for my son. I gave the lady my insurance info and she said she would be verifying my insurance and would be giving me a call right back. After a few hours of waiting I called to see if everything was ok the same lady told me they haven’t got around to checking it and when she does Since she had my number she would call me. It seemed a little rude so I just said its ok thanks tho and she literally hung up on me! So so rude

I have been taking my three kids here for years! They are very quick to respond to calls, making appointments is easy, and I’m always impressed she remembers all of our names when I call to make an appointment. She’s direct and gets to the point. I like that. I like her so much I drive over 30 mins to see her!

I’m shocked about the reviews that have been written Dr. M is a great Dr. She has seen all of my children 13yr 8yr and 3yr since they were born, they absolutely love her. There has been a couple of times when my ins. Wasn’t going through and she helped me out by still seeing my girls, Dr. M is very professional and I wouldn’t have my children go anywhere else. I love that I can call her and tell Dr. M what’s going on and she immediately sch. Them to come in. You are the best Dr. M and thanks for being such an awesome Dr.

I have never met a doctor and staff so unprofessional and rude. My kids left there about five years ago due to the same reason. I miss placed my children’s immunization records, so I called to get copies. Not only did she refuse to give them to me, she hung up on me several times, stating stop bugging her and they don’t keep records from 5 years back? Is that even true? Dr. Mohammed would not even allow me to speak… Wowwww really?! This is supposed to be a professional doctors office. I cannot believe I was treated so badly over the phone.

Love her!!! My children and nephews been going to Dr. Mohammad for 5 yrs and I they love her! She is very caring and answers all my concerns with everything. Most Dr’s have so many patients that they don’t really know u. But with her she remembers and have that connection with you. If I ever had any concerns with my kids health I can call at anytime and within 30 minutes I get a call back from her!!! All in all she is the best and I wouldn’t change her unless… I move out of town.
