Terrible pizza and terrible service. Overall bad experience. The cashier girl was very mean and rude. Definitely won’t be back!

Got the XL Cheese a few weeks back! It was delicious! The herbs and sauce complimenting the cheese made for a great pizza overall. Only for $ 16 too. Was delivered nice and hot. Will definitely order from here again.

Very good so far have never gotten my orders wrong and the employees are very friendly. Relatively fast service and you save some money to because of the big sizes of their slices, only complaint is that they don’t have stuffed crust, _

I called ordered a combination king kong pizza at 11 am and told the worker I was using a groupon and would be there in about 20 minutes because I live in south san jose. His tone of voice after mentioning groupon changed and he told me it would be a longer wait because he had alot of students and was busy. Hmmm, at 11 am during school hours? Ok… Moving on, I arrive to pick up my pizza(the place is empty btw) and I tell him Im ready to pay. He comes to the counter and proceeds to text message on his phone like I wasn’t there. When he was done he had the nerve to ask was I ready in which I replied yes, just waiting for you to finish texting. I found it very rude and unprofessional and that’s why I give them 1 star today. I will never go back again. I will strictly go to the Hillsdale location where they show customers respect.

I’ve lived in east san jose for awhile now and always passed by this this place. I’ve always wanted to try it and finally I did last night. I got a king Kong slice of cheese pizza and it was delicious! You could tell that it just got out of the oven. I’m not a huge fan of thin pizza but by far it was the best I’ve had! I’ll be coming in more regularly!

Thank you for the delicious Hawaiian with chicken instead of ham and the King Kong in I believe chicken something with Pesto. It was delicious, slightly expensive, the large and King Kong costed us 65.

Okay, let’s be real about the Alum Rock area. There are not a lot of great food joints around here. However, I don’t think New York Pizza cares. They have decided to make quality pizza regardless of the fact that there might not be any competition in a couple mile radius. I have ordered multiple pizzas for a bunch of teenage boys and they all loved the food. I have also walked over and ordered a couple salads when I was trying to «be good.» The employees are all friendly and the order has always been accurate. This pizza joint is legit and I will continue to enjoy eating here. Just a tip: make sure to check your Ranch containers to be happy with how many you have– they can be a little more conservative on the amount they give out compared to how many you were thinking they would give you. Order from here and enjoy! I recommend the BBQ chicken pizza as a nice indulgence!

Dude… DUDE! If you’re after classic pizza(think traditional red sauce, lots of cheese, and a crust that’s not too thin, but still nice and crispy on the outside and still chewy on the inside), New York Pizza is the place! Nothing fancy, simple toppings, fresh ingredients, and delicious every time. My husband(Sal) and I used to order pizza from EVERYWHERE — then I stumbled on New York Pizza and placed an order. I was so excited about it, I wanted to order pizza the very next week for dinner. If you’re after crazy combinations and gourmet toppings, this isn’t really the place. This should be your East Side go-to pizza joint for simple toppings — think pepperoni and mushrooms or sausage and olives. I’m seriously counting down the days till it’s pizza night in our house again!

It doesn’t matter how good the food is, if the delivery driver is a jackwagon. I put my order in at 5:05, it arrives at 6:15. I called the place twice and was told ’ he’s on his way) … then 10 min later«He’s right our front », only I was out front and there was no one there. Eventually he shows up and starts to give me guff about how I ordered at 5:30 and he is on time. He decides to argue about it. I have a reciept(from eat24 which was verified) that says 5:05. He then proceeds to out his foot in the door, and is looking at me like ’ where’s my tip ’ when anyone who can consume oxygen can see I put the tip on my card, and he didn’t really deserve one anyway. I retreated back inside the building. If you are late, just admit you are late. If you are lost, just admit you are lost. The last thing anyone wants to hear who has been waiting an hour for you to show up is ’ I’m right out front’ when they are standing out front and there is not a person in sight. 2 Stars because the food is not bad when it’s delivered on time and not some cold mess that’s been slogging around in the back seat of a car with a lost driver. **UPDATE** Manager contacted me and promised to make good on it. Going to give it another shot, because if there is one thing I value it’s a person with the fortitude to take responsibility and make good for something like this.

We’ve always experienced friendly, efficient service. And super tasty, amazing ingredients to boot! We love their pesto chicken or pesto shrimp with feta. Our kids also love their cheesy bread. One time our order was not ready when I went to pick it up, they had forgotten they were out of shrimp and did not make the pizza. They bent over backward to make it right, even gave us sodas while the kids were waiting. Love this place for delivery or pickup!!!

I love this place! Even though I end up ordering right before they close, my order is always correct, hot, and the delivery guy is super cool. The wings and pizza deal is awesome, I particularly like bacon and pineapple… Delicious

This is one of the pizza joints that I have ever been to. The ambiance of the place just wonderful. The staff is great. BUT!!! The number one thing I love love love the most is their cheesy bread and buffalo wings. They are the best. I always order those two items when I come in or just want something. My second favorite item from them would have to be any of their pizzas with their delicious white sauce. My recommendation would be chicken and mushroom. :)

The service here is great! And their slices are huge. I had a slice of combination and it was packed with toppings. The sauce has an awesome taste to it and they definitely live up to the new york style thin crust. Overall i loved it. I will be coming back her with friends and family. They have the King Kong pizza and it’s huge. The best thing about it is that it is not even expensive for the massive size. Compared to the expensive and small XL at round table, and With free delivery what more can you want?

Slow service. Called in for pick up and they told me they’ll be done in 15 – 20, and it wasn’t. Took about 35mins. Worth it though, the pizza is awesome sauce. Very inconvenient place to find parking as well. Since it gets really dark earlier I feel kinda uncomfortable parking in the back alley. Super sketch looking place to park your car, you’re better off parking on the street.

I was a little concerned when I saw the location. When we walked in it was completely empty. It appears that they do a lot of take-out and delivery business though. The pizza was pretty good and King Kong size is huge. It was more than enough to feed two adults and two teenage boys. The prices were pretty good for how much pizza you get. While we were there a couple of guys came in for slices of pizza, and the slices are bigger than personal pizzas elsewhere. Next time though I would probably get take-out.

I had a bad experience with a delivery order and the district manager reached out and made it all right. I appreciated him reaching out and understanding how to tend to a customer when things don’t go right. I enjoy their food and their service is great too! Their food is always fresh and their pizza & salads are really good!

As a self-confessed Pizzaholic, I’m always on the lookout for the next great pizza joint. New York Pizza(NYP) has been on my radar for a while now, and I’ve been wanting to give it a go. However, I was warned –multiple times!- by my Unilocal compadre, Räv V, that I should skip it – but with a solid 4-star Unilocal average, surely he must be mistaken, right?! Wrong… Pizza: I felt like going Veg, so I ordered a Margarita(sic) and a Greek Gourmet(Eggplants, Calamata [sic] Olives, Feta, Tomatoes, Onions, & Bell Peppers). Margarita(sic) — NYP’s misspelling of Margherita should have been my first clue not to order this; my second clue was when I had to explain to the employee what a Margherita was(even though it’s on the menu); and my third and final clue was the dried Basil – as opposed to the fresh they advertise on the menu. ‘Nuff said… 2* Greek Gourmet– This sounded like a good change of pace from my usually carnivores delight, but fell flat on its face. They piled the toppings way too high, so most of them were hardly cooked, and they forgot the Eggplant. 1.5* Cheese & Sauce– The sauce was a middle of the road variety; nothing too fancy, but not offensive in any way. The Cheese(much like the toppings) was too thick, and a bit much for my taste. It wasn’t bad, mind you, but it was the predominant flavor of every bite. 3* Crust– NYP’s crust reminds me of a Zieweback(those of you who are parents know exactly what I’m talking about); bland, flavorless and baked hard as a brick. Don’t even think about trying to get a fold on your pie – it’ll crumble like a cracker. 1* Service & Ambiance– Located in Alum Rock across from James Lick High and Peters’ Bakery, NYP is a tiny and clean little shop. The place was relatively quiet when we were there; I was actually surprised there weren’t a bunch of students in there. The guy working behind the counter was nice enough, despite his rudimentary pizza knowledge. 3* Value– This is the one category that NYP scores high in; one slice is pretty massive, and should be plenty of food for a normal human being. I wish I knew beforehand, and I wouldn’t have wasted money on two. However, NYP falls into the age old argument of quantity vs quality and here it’s obviously about the quantity. 4* I am the furthest thing from a New Yorker, but I know a thing, or two, about what a New York-style pizza should be like, and(to paraphrase Rhett Butler) this, madam, is no New York Pizza. I don’t like reviewing places after only one visit, but I will make the exception if I’m never coming back, and I just don’t see that happening for NYP – despite it’s tremendous value. In the meantime, I’ll stick to Bibo’s and A Slice of NY as my go-to NY Pie in the South Bay. As far as NYP is concerned – Fuhgeddaboudit!!!
