I was pretty underwhelmed by this place — I was expecting more based on the glowing reviews. They have a lot of pots for sure, and fountains scattered here and there. But the prices weren’t great, plus the owner woman followed me around while I shopped. Maybe she wanted to close early since it’s Memorial Day weekend? Who knows. I bought a small pot but I doubt I’ll be back.

AHH! The Secret Garden? I think so(actually I think I read that book too many times as a kid). This little garden is fun to wander in, but I wish it was bigger so I could find a reason to spend more time. I have been searching the internet for wall hanging pottery recently and doubted that something more affordable existed around us, but it does! We left with 3 wall pots for around $ 30! Yeah for a home for herbs! Like normal, I read a bunch of the reviews for this little store and see that there is definitely something to be found for those with the bucks to spend as well. Also, it is fun to gawk at a $ 1,000 giant pottery while you’re there, even if you don’t take it home :).

This place is great if you need large pots. It’s kinda small but they sure have a lot to chose from. There is street parking only so I don’t know how hard it would be to go on a weekend. I didn’t find what I needed, but if you need something large this is the place to go!

What a fantastic little place. Their collection of pottery is small, but complete. It has everything from your elegant pieces of outdoor pottery to your more kitchy pieces. The prices are not too bad, and you can find a nice pot for under $ 70. The place is a little cluttered, but it is not disorganized. If you are unsteady on your feet this location may be a little difficult to maneuver through. If it is crowded(which can easily happen with 10 people looking around) you will find yourself getting a little too friendly with strangers as you try to squeeze past them.

This place is a gem. Set in an original art-deco architecture service station, they have a great assortment of pots, planters, and garden items. The ceramics are excellent quality and the proprietor even has his art studio in the service station garage. This is the exact kind of local business that people need to go slightly out of their way to support when they can. You won’t be sorry.

This place is basically just an old parking lot full of pots and potted plants. The selection is very poor and the prices are really high. You can find these kinds of pots all over the Bay Area, usually for much much lower prices. Some of the other ornamental pieces were interesting, but held no attraction.

I finally got an opportunity to stop in here! My friend and I were so delighted by the beautiful plants(very few plants) and wonderful assortment of pots. Service is friendly… and all is unique at this stop.

Every now and then one is lucky enough to stumble across a true gem. Paradise Art and Garden is just such a place. Kim and Dao, the owners, are extraordinary people themselves, true treasures in our midst. Their inventory or unusual pots and assorted garden elements are a visual delight, and not only that, they are so reasonably priced. They have some fountains, as well as a small selection of plant materials. Dao is a landscaper and an artist; there is an attached galery on the premise where one can see his work. The inventory changes according to their shipments(mostly from Vietman), so frequent trips are recommended. Even though I live 20 miles away now I find it worth my while to visit them.

This is a friendly, family-run place. I’ve purchased 3 — 4 pots here in the past few years — they sell pots more than anything else. I only gave them 4 stars ’cause of the lack of color options in the pots. They get just a few shipments per year and don’t seem to add to their stock with more than one supplier source. I’d love to see more containers in a greater variety of colors/styles/patterns — more lighter/brighter pot colors — more reds! That said, Paradise Art & Garden has more variety in(outdoor) pots than places like SummerWinds, Home Depot or Orchard.

Fun little gem of a store tucked away in San Jose’s historic Shasta — Hanchett neighborhood(Rose Garden Area). Paradise Art & Garden is a converted old gas station(like the original 2 pump small office & garage kind) that features lots of great outdoor pots, fountains and statues. Good mix of Asian and European statues. This is one of the few places that have carry a small selection of solid marble pieces. The inside features more statues and some great art oil paintings done by the owner.
