3.5 stars This place makes a mean bowl of hu tieu nam vang so I am not quite sure why its advertised as a PHO restaurant. Is it to attract non-vietnamese customers? My dining companion had the dry version(which is sauteed in a soy sauce based sauce) with a bowl of broth on the side. The flavors were bold but I opted out bc it was pan sauteed and I wanted a «lighter» tasting dish. I went with the original hu tieu which was broth based. The broth was delicious and you could definitely taste the«meatiness» of the stewed bones and marrow. There was a good portion of pork slices but boo on only 1 shrimp. Lastly the noodles had a good texture. For novice– do not be afraid of the young(green) pickled garlic and green chili peppers which are in serving containers on the side. They are truly your friend when it comes to enhancing the hu tieu flavor. Take a clove and a pepper and float it in your soup. The pungent and tart taste of the garlic cuts the meaty broth nicely.

This place is a little expense(i took out one star), but I think they really have the best phở! It’s very good and you can tell that they use fresh meat. We always go here for phở and we’re never disappointed.

Not to be harsh, but if you want phở… go somewhere else… Now if you want hu tieu(vietnamese rice noodles), then come here! They have the tastiest rice noodle dish called«hu tieu suon non»(I think this is #37). It is rice noodle with a sweet pungent broth and spare ribs. The meat just falls off the bones and they are so generous with how much meat they get. I love coming here after working out because of how much protein I get from one meal. I also order it with a chinese fried bread. I let the bread soak in the broth for a bit to let it get real soggy. It’s comfort food at it’s best. I know the noodles are good b/c I always wonder how I finished my bowl already. I don’t even chew the spare ribs, it melts in your mouth. Oh man so good!

i came around 7:30 and it was pretty empty. There was 1 customer inside and after we ate awhile, a couple came in. Our orders and the food came fast. I had the ox tail noodle soup and the 2 pieces of meat were really good. The noodle was chewy at first, but got soggy afterwards and the soup was kinda salty. This place has some unique and different meats, so that was cool. The price was alright. But for Phở, i’ll rather go to Phở kim long!

Came in around 12:45 for lunch. I was seated immediately and ordered the ox tail phở. I looked around at the modern«art» pieces that were in the middle of the restaurant. Kinda weird. The phở was pretty damn tasty, but two out of the four ox tail pieces were rather tough. The broth was pretty good. I wanted to give this place four stars, but couldn’t. Here’s why… The menu said that the phở was $ 7.50 No biggie, right? But when I went up to pay for the meal, it came out to $ 9.20. How? I only ordered a water to accompany my phở. Well, the phở ended up being $ 7.75 and with tax should’ve came out to $ 8.40. Unless they charged me for water, which would be ridiculous, they overcharged me.

Got Ox Tail Phở? Looks like Nam Tien has a competitor… I had the Ox Tail, Fillet Mignon with Meat Balls and it was def TASTY! Ox Tail and the broth was heavenly!!! The décor is kinda weird but that doesn’t bother me :) I was distracted by the owner here… She was constantly yelling and demanding the waitress. I honestly felt really bad for the waitress.

This is our favorite Phở restaurant in the area. Also the cleanest. I like the décor, it is art! You never would expect such a cute place in this little shopping center, but it is a pleasant surprise when you walk in. I see a varied mix of customers every time we go here. The food is pretty consistent and tasty. Though they quit making my favorite fish dish for some reason. In addition to the soup, I love the lemon grass chicken and rice. It is so tasty, my husband always steals it from me. My complaints about this place; they don’t like to use air conditioning in the summer so it can get hot in there. They like leaving the doors open for fresh air, but the flies are a problem. They don’t like running the heat during the winter, so you will probably keep your jacket on. A couple times last year, the lettuce in the little side salad tasted like detergent/chemicals. I like clean food, but that may be taking it a little too far. Are they soaking the vegetables in an old detergent buckets or what?

I went here immediately after arriving on a plane from LA. What can I say, when hunger calls, Phở is always the first answer. Anyways, I was immediately put off by the garish interior. I guess feces colored brown walls with weird fake plastic trees(like the Radiohead song!) will do that to a place. The tables were made of this weird fake marble looking material, and just appeared dirty. I almost didn’t want to touch it for fear of soiling my sweater. It was also pretty damn cold inside – almost as if they didn’t want to waste any dough on heating the place. In LA, I think this place would get at most, a B(or a C without the bribes). Anyways, onto the food. I found it odd that the Phở Tai, which would normally be the typical beef broth and noodles served with thin slices of beef, instead had«filet mignon.» No way, I thought. Those foolish Vietnamese just don’t know what filet is, probably. When my bowl came out, however, I was greeted by a big hearty cauldron of hearty, aromatic beef broth with what appeared to be thinly sliced pieces of filet mignon swimming happily on top. I did the usual routine – heaping handful of bean sprouts, torn leaves of basil(both of which were relatively fresh), a squeeze of lemon, and a dash of pepper. I dived in and was immediately greeted by the tender meatiness of filet mignon. Heaven. I also got a ca phe sua da, the aforementioned drip coffee and condensed milk concoction. It wasn’t anything special, but it did come with a peculiar thermos of hot water that you could apparently pour into the drip thing so you could possibly enjoy another cup. Strange, considering that they only give you enough grounds for one cup and no extra condensed milk. Anyways, gotta love the effort. Oh, and another thing. The waitresses were putting our orders in using little PDA’s. Like they were from the future, only… in a badly decorated and slightly dirty Vietnamese restaurant in the middle of nowhere. So 4 stars for the ingenuity of combining filet mignon and phở while keeping it real with the tongue twisting name(imagine telling your friends that’s where you want to go eat for lunch), but subtract a half a star for the slightly oily broth and another half for being kinda dirty.

so i see this restaurant everytime i come home from class. it’s on the corner next to a 7−11and it’s looks like any other hole in the wall from the outside. so tonight my friend and i decided to try walking in the place looks pretty nice and very clean. it. they’ve got a pretty good menu and the prices are decent. the only reason i didn’t give it five stars is because they only take cash and the service was a little slow and lacking. I got my food(i ordered phở #9) and my friend got a noodle dish(a bun dish). I was served super quick, but my friend waited a good deal longer for his dish… aside from that, the phở and bun were good. skimpy on the vegetables, but delicious nonetheless… we had to hail down a waitress for a box and check… other than that… it was pretty decent…

Chanced on this phở restaurant. Phở was good but salty and a little oily. Also portion smaller than I was used to. But all in all better than average. $ 40 for 6 of us. Vietnamese(french) coffee fancy presentation but no a great taste. Couple of art deco trees for ambiance but basically you standard noodle shop furniture. Good for a lunch not a date.
