I’ve attended many of the open studio events at the Alameda Art Works. My wife and I try not to miss the twice-​yearly events. They have many artists showing works in their studios. Some may be working during the show. A wide variety of art, and a variety of talent. Some outstanding artists, some good, and some just ok, but very interesting. Also a variety of prices – some good stuff fairly inexpensive, and some really good stuff at reasonable prices for the quality. A really nice venue, but no AC so go early if it will be a warm day. Parking is limited so you may have to park on the street. Some good restaurants, other shops, and a good used bookstore nearby.

Went on the 2nd weekend of May for the Silicon Valley Open Studios
Quite a large venue with multiple artists. Two buildings. Parking lot in the rear. The artists were welcoming, answering questions, offering snacks and selling their various art.
Didn’t know of this venue in SJ.
