I love this place! my favorite order is the Chirashi Dinner and Marleen Special Roll #2. I also like the Unagi Scallop handroll. Always high quality food, friendly and professional service, and reasonable price. My only suggestion is to open for lunch on weekends. Otherwise, I love this place. I come here almost every 1 – 3 times a month.

The look of this place is very nice, and the plaza doesn’t ever seem to be very crowded. Mr. & I decided to go here for dinner vs. waiting an hour for Kenzo or Cha Cha. The appearance inside is clean and the employees are all very nice. Chairs are sturdy and comfortable! We ordered various rolls including the pretty common ones(Cali roll, Philly roll, rainbow roll). Although they came beautifully plated and sauced… they were so small! The taste was pretty average as well. Nothing about the food was mind-blowing, but the service was excellent. We paid about $ 50 for the whole meal, same amount we probably would’ve paid at Kenzo for the same quality sushi. I don’t know if I’d come back because I absolutely had to have their sushi again, but I’d come back if I didn’t want to wait at other sushi places.

In the Bay Area sushi restaurants are a dime a dozen, but Tomo Sushi is definitely not an average restaurant though. It is nice that Tomo is not in a crowded shopping center. The place is usually full but you do not have to wait to be seated. It’s pretty cozy inside and seats maybe 40 to 50 people at the most, which is nice because you don’t need to wait log for service either. The staff is very friendly too but the best part is the food of course. There are many of your«standard» sushi selections but also many special rolls inspired by customers and the owner. The fish is fresh and always tasty. What’s great too is that the regualr dinner menu is excellent. So if you are dining with someone who does not like fish then they will have something to eat. Their chicken teriyaki is a personal favorite. All in all Tomo offers delicious Japanese food in a quiet, relaxed environment.

I love tomo sushi! It’s a small place but it’s never crowded. You chose where you want to sit and right away they offer you water and take your order. Customer service is really good they always checking up on you and offering you things. They serve the food really fast the longest you wait is 10min. I love this friendly, cozy sushi place.

We came for dinner since our usual sushi place was a trek away and we wanted to stay in the area after a long day of errands. Service was prompt and they were friendly, but there was definitely something missing here for us. If you are a roll person, then this place is not for you unless you want to pay $ 13-$ 16 for a customized roll. The ones they did have on the menu were very basic and some similar to others. The fish was fresh though, but I gotta have me my BOGO free sake when I’m enjoying my sushi, which this place does not have. It was also on the pricer side for the amount of food we got.

I am Unilocaling as we sit here eat our overpriced food. The service wasnt all that and they took forever to take our orders. Two people in our group ordered plates and it came with meat and rice and it was $ 16 per plate. Not to mention they forgot our orders and we waited even longer. Don’t waste your money here when you can go get your money’s worth somewhere else. Kenzos might be a long wait, but you definitely get your money’s worth. The bus boy was cool though.

Really happy I found this place. I forgot the name of the rolls we ordered, but I’m sure you cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. If you love garlic like I do, you must try the garlic edamame. Did not give them 5 stars because for some reason the server would not seat us at the bar, bummer!

Never disappointed, cause the food is of great quality. Tony is the best sushi maker. Everything is soooo delicious and I also love the pink marinated garlic. He has been there for years and it only gets better with time. Thanks Tony and staff for excellent food and service. Betty/Albert

My buddy swears that this place has the freshest fish in the south bay. And he might be right. This is a gem tucked away in the corner of an aging shopping center. Hell, you might even miss it if you’re driving down Snell Ave. Anyway, if you go there just for teriyaki chicken, like a weasel, you won’t be blown away. However… if you’re there for nigiri or sashimi, then be ready to enjoy fresh, edible art without the funk. Sushi is their game, after all. I recommend the Delux sushi dinner. For 18 clams(get it?) you get 7 pieces of nigiri, 6 small tuna rolls, 1 Cali roll, miso soup, and cucumber salad. And the chefs are so legit, they’ll put the right amount of wasabi(which I’m not fond of) between the rice and fish, which tastes surprisingly better than making a soy sauce/wasabi bathtub that your sushi will commit suicide in. Look: the fish is fresh, the service is attentive enough(especilly if you’re a regular), and the place is clean and fit for a romantic dinner with yourself, your other half, or a just a sake ‘n’ sushi party for your yujins.

This cozy little shop has become my favorite local restaurant for several reasons. First, the food is quite good. The standard California rolls, soup, and salad are all great. Second, they have Japanese beer(though, not on tap). I also like the coziness of the décor… it’s unexpected in that shopping plaza, and ends up being a neat place to hang out for a while.

Tomo sushi was our back up after our original dinner plan fell through. My date and I were not disappointed! The sushi was good, and wasn’t too large. The rolls were also good sizes! We will definitely be back.

Nice small size place with ample seating for around 50 people tucked away in the shopping center. The things I don’t like: Nigiri rolls and eel rolls are on the pricey side. Averaging around 5.5 for just 2 pieces. Hamachi rice rolls weren’t sealed properly and come apart if not quickly handled. The things I like: Very authentic Japanese décor, feels like an actual Japanese restaurant and not the average sushi joint. Dedicated sushi chef Daily specials Bento box specials for under 13 and under 10 The fish has a nice silky texture. Overall, I give it a 4 star rating.

Anthony and his guys are awesome. Love the fresh fish, great service and diverse menu. They do a little traditional Japanese and a little sauce based sushi rolls, balance is everything. Hamachi collar, hand rolls, and uni nigiri were awesome. Not to mention if you sit at the bar Anthony is funny and generous. I’ll be back!

There are quite a few sushi places around here but I think this the best one in the nearby surrounding area. Their sashimi is fresher and they have more real sushi options than Kenzo. The environment feels more authentic and the prices are reasonable.

I love this super authentic sushi place! I really felt like I was in Japan when I walked in. I am so over ChaCha’s. Yes, I used to love going to Cha Cha until they started hiring random non-Japanese people rolling my sushi. We ordered: Tofu temaki for appetizer: perfectly cooked tofu in a sauce that was well balanced with tang and sweetness. Toro nigiri sashimi, it was $ 19 for 2 pieces. more expensive than most places, but delicious nonetheless. Can’t go wrong with toro! Hamachi Kama: it was $ 14, but very delicious! For those that don’t know what hamachi Kama is… it’s the jaw of the hamachi fish, deep fried. It came out exactly the way it should be. Tender, so much meat. I also ordered another nigiri and 2 rolls, but I can’t remember their names. For all of these and a thing of sake and beer, the total was about 120. for 3 of us. A tad more expensive than what I usually pay for sushi, but it was nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of chacha and get some real authentic feel of sushi.

Met a few friends here and surprised it’s within steps of AYCE place Kenzo. The plaza is a bit rough, but the inside is filled with good service by the staff here. It’s has an older interior, and their menu was typical, except their bentos are only one choice of items for the most part, rather than a mix of items like I am used to. I decided on the spicy salmon and hamachi roll. Their sushi and rolls are pretty comparable in price to other sushi joints. However, the food was just mediocre, and while they don’t pack on the rice like other places, the rolls are pretty dinky. All in all, a so-so experience with the food, and the waitress was nice enough to offer to split our bill 3 way.
