Zita is the BEST seamstress in the bay area! I ordered my dress from Elegant Lace and was so upset that the store had ordered the dress in the incorrect size. I met Zita at the store and she reassured me she could fix the dress. We met at her home and she began altering the dress. I met her at her home two different times. She makes the alterations look extremely easy. She is extremely knowledgeable. My dress was perfect! I received so many compliments during and after the wedding about how perfectly my dress fit me. I could not be happier with Zita’s work. I have already recommended Zita several times and will be using her in the future. She is a miracle worker!!!

It’s so funny half of Zita’s reviews are negative and the other half 5 stars. I am definitely one of the 5 star ones.
Zita had altered my mothers dress a few years ago and did a fantastic job. So naturally, I wanted someone I knew could do well on my dress too. I purchased my dress in a size 14 online and Zita took it all the way down to what is most likely a size 4 – 6. I knew my beaded, extravagant dress would be a challenge but Zita looked at it as if it was nothing! Took her the dress in February and just picked it up today for my wedding Sunday. She did everything I wanted and more! I love the dress more now than when I purchased it a year ago. Thank you Zita, for all the effort you have put into my special day.
She also altered four of my bridesmaids dress – again, fantastic.
I would definitely recommend her, though I have to say she is BUSY. So get in when you can.

I called Zita to ask if she could alter a dress for me in a week. She told me she was too busy and to find somewhere else and hung up on me while I was still talking. I will never go to her if she is going to be this rude to a new customer on the phone. Our conversation was less than 10 seconds and I couldn’t believe how rude she was.

Zita did an amazing job with my wedding dress. I know she must have put in many hard hours on it… I bought the sample dress off the rack, two sizes to big when I bought it, so she had her work cut out for her! On top of that the dress was lacy, beaded, and intricate. I was nervous taking it to a seamstress I didn’t know, that it wouldn’t come out looking how I wanted it to. As soon as I met Zita I felt comforted, she told me «don’t worry, it will be perfect», and she was right!
She not only made it fit perfectly and look like new, she paid attention to the way it made me FEEL and offered to add things to it, like extra cups, and boning, to make it even more flattering. I loved my dress so much and thanks to Zita it was absolutely perfect for my wedding day.

Despite numerous fittings some of her last minute changes resulted in concerns that the dress would not actually fit properly on the day of the wedding. In addition she agreed to minor alterations on another dress and when I arrived for our scheduled appointment not only was the dress not fixed BUT she had the gall to lie to me and say I was supposed to have called first. Very disappointing (especially as I live in San Francisco and had to drive an hour there and back).

Zita altered my wedding dress, almost reconstructing the entire side of the dress, since it was covered in intricate lace. I have two fittings to get the exact fit and she also created a beautiful bustle for the back. She is frinedly, works out of her house and is reasonably priced!

Zita works out of her home and is a VERY talented seamstress. I’m not sure how long she has been doing alterations but when we spoke I got the impression she’s been doing them for many many years. She is the top recommended seamstress by Elegant Lace in San Jose and eventhough I don’t care for that store I appreciate them sending me to Zita.
She has altered many dresses for myself and friends. My wedding dress had a very detailed encrusted top so I was nervous when I realized it needed to be taken in, I was afraid the crystals would start to fall off or they would loose the design and look altered but Zita fixed it up and you could not tell. She also made my veil to match my dress as well as alter 3 of my bridesmaid dresses. Her work went from hemming, taking in and enlarging the dresses. All of them looked professional and beautiful. Her prices are also very reasonable. My bridesmaid’s paid $ 60 – 90 for quite a bit of work.
Once she did a dress for me when I was pregnant. I was a bridesmaid and she had me come see her just a few days before the wedding to do the adjustments. She is quick, efficient and most of all very charming.
I highly recommend Zita, you won’t be sorry!
