Overrated and extremely guilt driven, sent a relative here and would never do that again. Waste of time and money. The IRS should be watching this place since she informed me all the owners drive Ferraris or 6 figure sports cars. They seem nice but once they get your money or that of your provider the help fades and you become a number. Much better options in Malibu, Laguna and Beverly Hills.

I am am addiction counselor that does most of his work pro bono or at low fee because I have a passion for helping people achieve long term sobriety. that being said, I never recommend a facility to clients unless I have done a thorough investigation of it and its staff as there are many companies that are more interested in money than helping people achieve long term sobriety and this is one. they are a basic cookie cutter 12 step program where u esentally pay a huge sum of money to learn how to run the steps which u can do for free at any AA meeting. theu claim to have an «alternative track» for those who do not want to use 12 step to get better, but that is a total lie. they improperly and detrimentally try to use CBT and SMART but have no training and a horrible implementation of them. avoid this facility and save your money.

This is a fantastic program. I did the Christian Track. I applied myself and I am a different person. Feel very equipped to deal with life without mind altering substances. Thank you very much for having a place like this to heal and get tools to do life. I went to two other programs and I did not even come close to uncovering the life traumas I had. I did 91 days and it was so much more effective than just doing 30. God Bless!

When i came to Hope by the Sea i was completely out of options and living in my car. I don’t know if it was a combination of the therapists, the groups and the staff or if I was just finally ready and willing to do something different with my life. The staff treated me well and on many occasions talked me down from leaving when i just wanted to give up. on one specific occasion even the owner Penny sat down with me and took time out her day to share her experiences with me and give me just a little bit of hope. I know hope by the sea isn’t the only place or the only way to get sober, but it is what worked for me. I have now been sober for 124 days. its been 17 years since I have put more than 30 days of sobriety together. If you are ready for something different for your life and you want a real chance to get it. i would recommend this place

Hope By The Sea is a great in patient program. They have a very dedicated staff that bend over backwards to help people out. One of the best things I could have done for myself was going to treatment. My case manager and therapist were excellent and all of the groups were extremely beneficial. I would recommend this program to anyone that feels hopeless and desperate like I did.
