I come here when I am craving banh mi. It’s half the price I would pay in San Francisco(about $ 4) and its quite tasty. I always get their vegetarian banh mi. I don’t understand the low reviews here. Plus points for taking credit cards(w/minimum charge) & for free parking.

Those who complain about the pricing or lack of ingredients on the Banh Mi need to keep in mind the French’s influence on Vietnamese cuisine. A French baguette sandwich has very minimal ingredients. At least a Banh Mi has more ingredients to make it tasty. Try ordering a sandwich elsewhere and you will realize the prices here are more than fair. My favorite is the grilled chicken, and the drinks are tasty, too.

The last 2 times we’ve tried to get food here have not been our luck: 1– they were supposed to be open but were closed; 2-just today got there and they had no bread for sandwiches! While things happen, we’ve been disappointed twice. No need to go back!

Wow, talk about stingy. It was way more bread and hardly any meat.

Like many of the lower reviews here, I rated them 2 stars because they charge 4.15(inc tax) for a sandwich with hardly any ingredients. There’s very little meat and vegetables. You’d think vegetables would be cheaper so might as well pack it to at least look full, nope. Empty sandwich. Gave them some stars because it did have decent flavor. I added a picture, even their spring rolls are a lie– they show meat stuffed and packed but the actual roll had next to no meat. Will not return

The flavors of the sandwiches & meats are tasty. I like the grilled pork(#6) and the cold cuts combo(#2). Sandwiches prices average ~$ 3.75 for a 6″ sub. It seems like there was less meat than there was last time; the meat is spread pretty scantily so there were parts of the sandwich where there was no meat. On a more positive note, the three color bean dessert(Chè ba màu) is tasty here. There do seem to be some other tasty looking fresh spring rolls and meat on rice/rice noodle boxes that I’d like to try out sometime. Also reading the other reviews, the drinks appear to be pretty good here. I’ll have to check those out. Overall, it’s an okay joint, the food has good flavor, but it’s not exactly a value play, at least not for the sandwiches.

Extremely skimpy on the meat! Not worth 3.75 $ for bread and some veggies! I ordered 4 chicken and 4 pork sandwiches. The fam and I were very disappointed.

Love this place, I eat here about 1−2x a week since it’s right next to my work. The sandwiches are always made fresh, the bread is so soft and the rice plates they have are so good too! The drinks are flavored w/powder mix, but they’re so good esp w/the boba tapiocas. I think for the prices are very reasonable for what you get. I spend about $ 4 for a chicken over rice plate w/veggies. Perfect portion for the price. They have a bunch of snacks inside there like chips, muffins and cookies, but why buy that when you get warm and more filling food for just a few bucks more. I usually call my order in a few minutes before I go there and he always has the food done by the time I get there. Definitely a place to try out!

This is a small shop with very cheap food. The spring rolls are 4.05 for three in a package. I ordered the combo style and they were ok. They are fairly large rolls but the shrimp one only came with two very small pieces of shrimp, so my «shrimp» roll ended up being a «lettuce» roll. The peanut sauce was also very thin. It was mostly water. I’m not sure if that was a mistake or them trying to cut costs, but come on, those ingredients aren’t expensive! I also ordered a green tea smoothie with boba, which was actually really good. It was 3.25 for a ‘small’ which comes with a rounded top, so you do get a lot. Credit card minimum was $ 8, accepts all four types of major credit cards. It’s a good food choice if you’re looking for something quick and cheap, but don’t care too much about the quality. From the one flavored I tried, their smoothies are worth the trip!

I just ate for the first time here and the sandwiches were impressive. We had the grilled pork and BBQ pork and they were both really good. I’ve been eating Vietnamese sandwiches for years now and this place by far is better than most. The prices for sandwiches are low and their quality of ingredients are fresh. The one thing that stood out which helped their sandwiches is the fresh baked bread. It’s lightly toasted on the outside and soft in the center like it should be. If I’m in the area again I will have to make a stop at Li Do.

When I used to stay over in San Leandro, my girlfriend and I would come to this bahn im place all the time. We would get the pork sandwhiches which are always good. There not too spicy and there the right size. It comes in a meal which is good, chips and a drink I think for $ 5. There spring rolls are hit or miss sometimes, today was a miss. Didn’t have a lot of meat inside and just a lot of lettuce. Other than that it’s a good place for bahn Mis

Not the biggest sandwiches but worth every penny. Ingredients taste much fresher than other Vietnamese sandwich shops I’ve been to. Fast and friendly.

While I appreciate a good, cheap, banh mi especially in the burbs, and theirs is not bad, I am stymied as to why there are 3 coffee dispensers but no coffee available. The owner said his machine was broken. Is he so cheap that he can’t buy a $ 20 coffee maker on the meantime and brew some coffee?

Sandwiches are delicious! Customer service are awesome! I always come here to get the #1 Combo sandwich for my bf and I for lunch and its delicious! One time I got my bf a sandwich from here and he got hooked. He kept asking me to pick him up some(ven-nam-eez) sandwiches lol(he’s Mexican) and never tried these sandwiches and when he took his first bite he loved it. I am just soooo happy I don’t need to go all the way to Oakland or Hayward(Lee’s sandwiches) to get some delicious bomb tasting quality sandwiches. Right here located in San Leandro, oh am I lucky. I also got my mom a sandwich from here and she loved it! This place may be small, but the food is great.

I come here quite often. The sandwiches are good, a lot of people like their bread. I don’t have any issues with the sandwiches considering we are in san leandro. My two issues are: 1) the guy in the front could be a bit warmer and welcoming. I don’t think I have seen him smile and if he does not understand you he gives that furrowed brow which is fine for normal conversation but not so much for a customer service perspective. 2) also, I love spring rolls(the fresh type). Theirs is decent but the sauce is horrible. I guess if you don’t know better it is fine but I grew up on this stuff and their sauce is bad. The peanut sauce is very watered down and the fish sauce is missing something.

This was my very first time trying this place out. I am always craving Vietnamese sandwiches and my usually go to a place in Oakland but it out of my way and this is small place with only 3 tables makes it seem like it’s a place for you to buy and do take out. Well I ordered a Grilled Chicken Banh Mi and I could honestly say that is pretty darn good. They use real chicken and not processed chicken like my usual joint I go to. They also could be a bit more, well let’s say that that maybe if they stuff the sandwiches a bit more and not try to fill you up with the bread they would be so money. Overall I did like them and they are my 2nd choice for these V-Sandwiches. The place is pretty clean and for $ 3.00 I really shouldn’t complain but hey I’m a big boy.
