My go to grocery store that’s soo close to home. They always have what I am looking for. It can be pretty expensive, but depending on what you are looking for. It is worth it to have a safeway card since majority of their items have a club card deal. This location also had a bakery and deli all the way in the back. I recommend people to go here if you have to grab ingredients for whatever you’re making last minute. I know i’ll be back since I shop here at least once a week!

This Pak ‘n Save Foods store is much nicer than the one in Emeryville. It’s well lit, clean and stays open late. You can find safeway products and still reap the rewards of getting slightly better prices than its sister company. The grocery store is not too crowded during the week. This is go to grocery store when I have to go grocery shopping during the week for a few things.

The cashiers are fantastic the best cashier that pack and save as is Fabio amazing cuz she can remember every one of her customers by name that takes Talent I hope the management team at Pac and save understand and realize what kind of employee she is fantastic and I hope they recognize that… the only problem I have is your bags I purchase a lot of groceries there are you go in the parking lot in the bags break and things break or I get home start taking them in the house and they break before I get into the house I know what your exclamation will be from your corporate office buy the leather bags I don’t like the leather bags because they the Tennessee after a while to stink well I guess that’s my only complaint that’s a good one but I have to go back and buy the product again the only problem is I don’t think I should have to pay twice for the same product when it’s not my fault keep up the good work with your employees I wish that would extend to your produce department because it’s not one of the desired produce people in the world there are unfriendly and like this morning there was hardly anything on the shelves

Wow! Walk in memorial day to buy some last minute things and this woman stops me at the door and says«NOYOUCANTGETANYTHINGYOUCANTCOMEINHERE» I have not been to this store before so I immediately get offended and ask her why(in so many words) she calls over another guy and he without asking a single question says that I have to leave. WTF!?! Racial profile much? All i can say is if youre african american remove your hoodie there are some george zimmerman supporters afoot! #happymemorialday

Why is it every time I come in here the manager always seems to have a stick up his ass? Besides that nobody ever greets when you enter the store like they should, everything is outdated, food close to expiration and homeless loitering around. If the manager put as much energy being angry into the store I think this could be a nice place to enjoy a nice shopping experience. And the way he looks so angry just makes him look so ugly. Sad old angry man whose wife left him and hasn’t gotten laid in years.

Really outdated interior of this Pak n’ Save Foods location(which is part of Safeway brands). It reminds me of what the majority of the Safeway stores used to look like years ago. I was still able to find what I needed. This place could definitely use a renovation. I wouldn’t be surprised if some of their products were expired based on how they are stored and arranged. Service is okay, though as the other Unilocalers point out, it can be hit or miss depending on when you go. I didn’t have any issues at all. However based on how the registers are designed and set up, you will have to bag your own groceries. Parking seems to be plentiful.

I always find most everything I need here. If you need someone at the customer service counter, don’t hold your breath. poor customer service at times. Friendly staff, no complaints there, other than the security guy at the door needs to be courteous and respond to greetings and smile a bit more. I have been very annoyed by the 3’s a crowd promo playing while there were literally TEN people in all 3 lines. it is a bit nuts. False advertising. They are losing THREE stars for selling alcohol to a minor on Super Bowl Sunday, there is absolutely NOEXCUSE for this! They were caught in a sting operation by SLPD, SHAMEONTHEM!!! I am quite upset by this and they may very well lose my business altogether.

The reasons why I shop here: 1) It’s close 2) Parking Lot is not busy 3) Wide aisles I hate crowds, and this supermarket only gets crowded around the check-out lines. I don’t have to circle around to find parking. Other shoppers have mentioned that with large number of items purchased, packing them can be tedious. Do enlist friends/family along for the shopping trip. My only gripe, and it’s a major one, is that there are plenty of expired products on the shelves. I was so close to purchasing old ricotta(one tub from APRIL!). Some products that don’t sell as well are at risk of this. The staff needs to check their diary regularly! I would be upset if my entire lasagna was inedible because of one ingredient. Remember to check those dates on the packages. You’ll thank me later…

Terrible customer service and rude employees who do not know product knowledge at the deli. Went there today to pick up lunch and noticed the lunch deals they had. When I ordered, they said they don’t offer that lunch deal anymore when the fine print said«valid until November.» It’s September right now.

This is my go to grocery store, minus the produce(goes bad quick). It’s big, clean and organized. Prices are about the same as Safeway. I don’t know about the other reviewers but I’ve never waited more than a few minutes in line. I’ll take this place over Safeway on Washington anyday!

This review is for the bakery. My mother-in-law ordered a large Spiderman cupcake cake last September for my sons 5th birthday. Half chocolate, half white w/fresh whipped cream. The cupcakes & whipped cream were delicious! It was more than enough to feed my sons class & have plenty leftover for enjoying at home. It was very convenient to serve cupcakes rather than a traditional cake & also very affordable. The bakery also says they only need 24 hours notice(which is impressive even though I always plan way ahead.) We will be ordering from them again this year for his 6th birthday… I will update my review soon!

Even though I live relatively close I only go here if I really have to. A few times I’ve walk in, saw who the checkers were and turned right around and went to the Safeway or Lucky’s, or just said I don’t need the item that much. The problem is since it’s basically a place for almost expired food the food is cheaper and you get the customer associated with it, and worker. However there are two workers who are super nice which is the only reason I gave this place 2 stars. Then there are the lines. No matter what time of day or night there is always a line. If you don’t have any other choices I would recommend not shopping here.

The 1 star goes to the majority of employees here that are super friendly. Everything else is terrible! The lines are always long as they keep 1 – 3 registers open, no matter if it’s a busy time of year. The meat is always rotting, which is why it’s so cheap. And it’s just in a bad neighborhood. Homeless people hang out outside and drunks come in to buy snacks and more alcohol.

This store has a long-line problem at least 70% of the times I visit. It’s totally frustrating because you’ve already invested in the walk from your car, so you just have to suck it up since it’d take longer to find another store at that point. I just stopped going altogether; I don’t care how close it is to my house.

A tad bit cheaper than Safeway with just about the same products. In the same shopping center as DD’s discounts and a 24 hour fitness gym(formerly Bally’s). You bag your own groceries here, no courtesy clerks like regular Safeway’s. The lines in here were OFF the chain, I mean people were lined up from the register back into the frozen section– it was a little ridiculous considering the overwhelmed and grumpy cashier called for backup 3 different times to no avail. Bring your own bags, the flimsy paper bags you pay .10 for will bust wide open when you least expect it. Reusable bags are sold here for around $ 1.50 per cashier. You can use your Safeway rewards card to take off any extra discounts available. I would assume it’s probably best to shop here in the early AM to avoid the crowd or the backup of customers.

Since I live so close, I go here a lot for basic groceries. Not too bad price-wise and the employees are usually really nice. But the last few times I’ve gone here, there were birds flying inside the store around the exposed produce(greens, fruits, etc.) Which, to me, is more than enough to make sure I don’t buy my produce from here anymore.

I mean seriously, what’s to say about this place? A bit less chaotic than a normally placed Safeway store can be. Hit or miss on how fast the checkers will take. Some friendly, others not. Same goes with other shoppers in the store. Convenient to turn recycling into a usable part of your grocery budget if you can get past the daily local recycling scavenger types that may or may not be drunk/high off their ass in line trying to cut in.

Safeway Light. The selection is good and the prices are pretty much in line with Safeway(funny that) so there’s not much to complain about. Checking out can be a disaster if it’s busy because they either don’t have enough check stands open, or the person in front of you in the«15 Items or Less» line are incapable of simple math.

When I don’t want to make the drive to CV for Trader Joe’s and I’m not quite broke enough to brave the lines at Food Maxx, I stop by this Pak ‘n Save. For those who don’t already frequent this store, think of it as Safeway without the high prices or courtesy clerks. Some of the high-end products aren’t always available and there’s no deli counter. Parking can be troublesome especially on Saturdays when folks stand in long lines to make money on recycling. Grab your own bags and put your children/spouse on bagging duty and save some money on groceries.
