The last thing to fall into place in my move to the East Bay was finding a good barber. I tried many before I found Sam. Just blocks from my house, too! I don’t know what took me so long to try Sam, but this speaks volumes: I haven’t been to any other barber since. I spread the Gospel of Sam to anyone with hair! He’s a busy guy, though, and he has his priorities straight because he knows what quitting time is and takes good care of his young family. So don’t expect to get right in. But when you do, you won’t go to anyone else again. Five stars PLUS for Sam’s Barber Shop and Sam himself.

Note: he semi-​recently changed to be appointment only, which is good because the waits were getting long. Make sure to call AT LEAST one week ahead.
Sam is the best around, thats why he has a week backlog. He’s friendly, he’ll chat with you if you want and he won’t badger you if you dont feel like talking. In terms of the haircuts he is solid, if you dont have ideas about what you want he works with you and helps figure something that looks good. If you do know, he gets it perfect. He goes slow, in a good way! And makes sure to get everything exactly right. Don’t go in here expecting a quick in and out, which should be a good thing for you.
He can do any special kinds of cuts. Tapers, fades, whatever you need he is good at it and does it with ease. This is the spot to go!

Both my husband and 2 year old son get faded up by Sam. He’s super patient with our son and his haircut is always a hitter!

I’ve been coming here for about 5 years and was lucky enough to find this place out of convenience, not thinking that I would find my go to barber, Sam is exceptional in his craft and not only that he is a good dude as well. As long as I live within a 30 min drive of Sam‘s Barbershop, this will be the spot.

I have been to a few different Barbers in San leandro and I finally found the one I have been looking for. Sam cut my hair pretty much exactly how I wanted it. After a few more visits I’m positive we have worked out all the kinks for that perfect haircut. Sam is by appointment only, which is great because I can plan it ahead of time and works with my busy schedule. He also has barbers that take a walk in. The barber chairs are great. Pretty sure they are from the original owner. It has great old school vibe. Needs a little work on the inside but I really don’t mind. This will be my go to barbershop from now on. The journey to find the perfect barbershop has ended and I couldn’t be happier. Thanks Sam!

This guy is good. So good that you need appointments now, which actually makes it easier. The lines in the past were long if you worked a regular schedule during the week. Very professional shop, good price, and most importantly, all the barbers there really take the time to do a great job

I’ve been on a journey searching for a great barbershop in San Leandro and to you I present Sam’s barbershop!
Recently, Sam switched from drop ins to appointments. Make sure you get a spot because his schedule fills up quick. Haircuts ate $ 20 + tip. Sam is precise and takes ample amount of time to make sure you get the exact haircut you are looking to for.

I have been coming to Sam’s since I have moved back to San Leandro for about a year now and it is always nice to have a place to go for a reasonably priced hair cut. Sam will also work with you if you want to put a custom design in your hair, it’s not a problem. Sam and his fellow barbers have perfected their craft and I encourage anyone who is looking for a local friendly barber, definitely go check out Sam’s!

Every time I’ve been to a barbershop or hairstylist I’ve always left disappointed with my haircut the next day. But I cannot say the same for Sam’s. Every time I’ve gone to get my haircut it had come out amazing. Sam really knows what he is doing and like any good barber should he really discusses with you about what will work best with your hair. He is also very thorough with his haircuts, usually I have lots of long stray hairs, but with Sam everything is nicely cut. He takes his time to really make sure your hair is perfect. The only downside is that it gets a little busy and sometimes the wait can be long. But he is reasonably priced and there are plenty of places to grab a bite to eat nearby. I highly recommend Sam’s barbershop and particularly Sam himself.
