I found this place by complete accident when looking for places that delivered in the area. I was suprised by everything I ordered, and the delivery time. My meal was warm, great meal protions, and delicious. I recently frequented the restuarant itself, and found myslef to be just as pleased. It wasn’t to busy at the time as my table of three was the only table when we were seated, but that changed mid meal. Our waitress was attentive and helpful. This is a small and casual Italian Pizzaria that offers pastas, refreshing raviolis and more. Great taste and filling portions. Beers were served in labled glasses which are also sold in the restaurant.(Wink Wink to Shocktop and Stella fans!!! Though I’m sure there are more) However, if your not a fan of salty, avoid the Kalamata Olives on the pizza and pastas. I do like Kalamata Olives don’t get me wrong, just these ones I can go without.

Seriously going down hill, fast. Used to do take out there a lot, once a week or so. Pizza, fried mushrooms, wings. friendly on the phone, knew my order. decent pizza. Haven’t been for about 6 months or so when my husband and I were in the neighborhood and starving… so we went to dine in. Uhh, mistake. Not more than 4 sets of customers there at a time. Waitress came and took our drink order but not food even though we were clearly ready(that’s what it means when you close the menu and lay it down.) Then she came back and took our order. Pizza and an appetizer. About 30 minutes later the appetizer arrives, tasting kinda rank– husband asks if they double-fried the mushrooms(because they were like rocks.) Waitress says no. Then walks off. When she brings the limp and sad looking pizza, he tells her he asked about the mushrooms because they are not good. «I’m sorry.» and she walks off. Pizza is bland and not hot. I know they took it out of the oven and sliced it, then fried(again) the mushrooms because the forgot, then brought the luke warm pizza out. Crust was soggy, not properly risen, and just yucky. WOuld have sent it back but the waitress never checked on us, though she was nearby a lot– she seemed scared, even though my husband and I were very nice. I spent at least 20 mins waiting for an ice tea refill. Suggesions? If you don’t want to go out of business, have friendly staff on and train them how to handle a situation in which the customer does not like the food’s preparation. I know because I have had good food there in the past that this was below par. If you want to go out of business, keep on doin’ what you’re doin’ and it won’t take long at all.

SERGIO’S = INCONSISTENCY «Well punk, do ya’ feel lucky?» should be the sign over the door at Sergio’s. Sometimes you get great service and wonderful food. Other times you actually walk away asking yourself«Did I really pay for that?» I don’t know why a business has such a variation in both food quality and staff behavior. UNLESS the owner simply doesn’t care. Funny thing is, this place could RULE. It is without serious pizzeria competition in downtown/central San Leandro. PLUS it’s big enough inside to host serious events. But alas, I guess they haven’t figure all that out. Common’ Sergio’s, get it together, truly, we’re all pullin’ for ya !!!

Love love love Sergio’s. Best pizza in the area. Their«Nick the Greek» is my favorite I’ve had others but now every time I go in for lunch the waiter gives a knowing nod to me when I order Nick the Greek and diet coke. Sometimes they look a little empty and slow butt he food is consistently excellent. I brought a co-worker in for lunch and she got pasta from their lunch special and wasn’t thrilled. She said next time she’ll go with pizza.

A colleague and I decided to order out as we had to work after hours on a project. Pizza arrived late. Tasted good going down, but not so much coming up. Two hours later I was hunched over the porcelain alter clutching my abdomen. Any joy I experienced expelling the wretched pie from my gullet subsided quickly as I heaved again. And again. Ten times, I remember counting. For a short while I curled up next to the commode in a fetal position while waiting for number eleven… fortunately it never came, my innards abused but finished for the evening. The next day my colleague described a similar but slightly less harrowing experience, and neither of us were even remotely recovered. We both stayed home. And now, three days later, I’m still dealing with the aftermath of the pepperoni and sausage assault. I’ll spare you the gastronomic and scatological details as there are even less palatable than the bits of mushroom and onions that made waves around the toilet bowl that first night. Sergio’s should not only reimburse us for the pizza, but for the lost productivity. Whether it’s poor food handling or bad meat, its simply not cool to pass«botched» pies around the holidays. Not cool.

Pretty solid pie. By far not the best nor worst I’ve had. Some of the meat ingredients taste frozen but most of the vegitables seemed fresh. The pizza is a little on the pricier end compared to similar pizzerias. The dining room could use an update and a through cleaning. The beer selection is average and the service a but lack luster. I’ll return when I’m in the area.

Best thin crispy crust, great sauce, ample toppings, best east-bay pizza in a ten mile radius! Nice staff, I’ve been enjoying Sergio’s for eight years now, and they have never disappointed me or my many visiting guests. Rock on!

Way back when Sergio’s was on Davis St.(many years ago) they made the best pizza. The last few years have become unbearable because of the rude staff and crummy pizza. You would be better of buying a pizza from Costco.

We come to Sergio’s for a number of reasons. If we don’t feel like making dinner, if we don’t feel like going out to dinner, or if we feel like eating pizza. Once in a while you have those days where you just want to relax, be lazy and indulge in some pizza, and on those days Sergio’s is wonderful. We pretty much get the same thing every time. Occasionally, we’ll switch up the pizza or the salad, but for the most part we know what we want. And normally that is, a Greek salad, the meat lover’s pizza, or Sergio’s special. More often than not, we get the Greek salad and the meat lover’s pizza. The Greek salad is simple, refreshing, and delicious. It comes with feta cheese, cucumbers, tomato slices, kalamata olives, peppercionnis, croutons, and is topped with a sweet, oil vinaigrette. This is probably one of my all time favorite salads, and it is very easy to recreate. As far as pizza, even though we switch it up between the meat lover’s and the Sergio’s special, I personally prefer the meat lover to the special just because I don’t like the bell peppers and onions on my pizza. The crust is normally pretty good. It’s not to thick and not super thin. There was one time however when the crust was really doughy. Obviously, it wasn’t cooked through all the way… The meat lover pizza is topped with pepperoni, salami, ground beef, sausage, and I think linguisa. Overall, I would say this place is A-Ok and a winderful option if you need something quick adn without much thought.

I have lived in San Leandro for over three years now and have passed this place hundreds of times without a second thought, however finding it very hard to get pasta at a descent price, I came across the name on Unilocal and decided to give it a try. I am very happy I did! I saw they were having a lunch special pasta, salad, bread and a drink for $ 6.99! What!!! I did not get that because I have to special order my Fettucini, but I still could not complain when my total came up to a whopping $ 7.90. I got my lunch to go thinking all the way back to work, something had to be wrong, Because the other Itialian joints in the area want well over $ 11.00 for Fettucini! Right! Crazy… I must say my Fettucini was cooked well, the sauce didn’t taste canned, the mushrooms were fresh and so was the spinich. The portion size was great! I have no complaints, I will definately be back. I am not really a pizza eater but my husband is, so I will let him critique that.

I wanted to try a new pizza place so I ordered takeout for a party from here. I ordered the Mediterranean, the vegetable pizza, and one with a lot of meat on it. The order took close to an hour to get here and I was sure it would never come. I really did not like the crust! It was like eating toppings on a cracker! The bottom of the pizza was brown. I’ve tried flat crust pizza and this was not good. The crust was chewy and hard. The stuff on top I thought was ok, but a good pizza has a good crust. Anyways the pizzas weren’t worth the money that I paid and I wouldn’t order from here again, unless you’re the type of person who likes chewy hard crust…

I’ve had Sergio’s pizza for years and it’s always been good, Id give it a 4.5 star review but that was all before… I tried the calzone… If I could give it 987 stars I would because it’s that delicious, and they are colossal, I always split with a friend and I’m still stuffed. Everyone needs to GO get a calzone from Sergios pizzeria, it will change your life.

I’ve been here lots of times with big groups of people, and I can say the pizza is amazing! Always brimming with toppings, it’s always super flavorful, you can’t really go wrong with the pizza menu. The calzone might take a while to get to the table, but it is definitely the best calzone I have ever had, hands down! This place is pretty big, and it reminds me of an East Coast neighborhood pizza joint, very down-to-earth, not trendy at all! As in it doesn’t pretend to cater to pretentious gourmandes who demand glasses of chianti with basil-and-waterbuffalo-mozzarella pizza set on rustic oak dining tables at all hours. Which is a major plus in my book, since I can go to North Beach for that, thanks hipsters/yuppies!

I’ve been to Sergio’s many times. I live down the street and every time, my calzone has been piping hot. to where I have to blow on it to cool it down before eating… My orders have always been perfect. They will bring extra stuff out if you want it(I wanted some pesto on the side of my calzone with tomato sauce and they did that). Ordered ices tea last time, waitress brought out a carafe of tea. since I downed my 1st glass in 5 seconds. she was attentive but not overbearing. The salads are good the dough is great, nothing is over salty. I had fresh spinach and mushrooms in my calzone. no complaints here! :-) Thanks Sergio’s…put a coupon or something in the SL Times… we’d like that!

Every neighborhood should have an authentic Italian Pizzeria like Sergio’s, with big movie posters and Italian locale memorabilia as décor, and friendly waitstaff tending to your needs. This is the ideal place to pick up a family size pasta dish or pizza on your way home from work. The dining in section is quiet, but alas it’s a Tuesday night. I got the Rigatoni Bolognese and it was a good 5−7people size serving, for under $ 40. We had 6 adults, 2 children and there were still lots of leftovers. The price is very reasonable and the service fast. Trust it.

This place has gone dooooown. Not sure what happened. Signs should’ve been, it being damn near empty with the exception of 2 other couples dining in. The pizza use to be on hit… not it’s just a soggy mess. The only thing good here are the salads and the beer… I *might* try them another again… just not tomorrow! :)

They had Sergios pizza at my Union meeting today. Man what happen they must of had a bad day. The damn pizza tasted like soggy cardboard. Bland and Blaw. I hope they get their act together we usually order about 20 pies. Even the Chow hounds at the Union only made 1 pass and didn’t go for seconds. Good thing we had a big turn out.

Since our move to the Deep East from Temescal, we’ve had to learn how to make do with less than stellar eating out options. I know we’re still IN Oakland but sometimes driving more than 5 minutes from home is out of the question. Sergio’s has become the pizza place we go to when one of the following applies: too lazy to make pizza, too broke to go to Pizzaiolo, too tired to deal with Costco or too good to have Little Ceasars. Sergio’s is a solid three stars and has an old school pizzeria look. Although they have maybe twenty tables + booths, I’ve never been in there when more than five tables are occupied. In addition to pizza, they have salads, apps and standard«Italian» dishes — I’ve never tried any of the above because, honestly, I worry that I’d be majorly disappointed. Pizza-wise, we usually get a Nick the Greek(pepperoni, feta, kalamatas, greek peppers) and the kid gets a personal with veggies. The«kid» is a 14 year-old dancer who can EAT and the portion size of the personal is usually good for her. Service is okay. And by ‘okay’ I mean they’re friendly but kinda slow and not great about checking in. I don’t need or like to be hovered over but as a server there are some key times you should check on your tables and things that shouldn’t need mentioning(like place settings for everyone). The only thing that doesn’t work for me is that they always seem to have the TV + 2 different radio stations going which gets somewhat annoying. And when we were there last night, there was a gnat that would not leave us alone — it’s the first time I’ve experienced that there but still, gross.

The first time I went to Sergio’s I tried to order one to go. The fellow behind the counter said, «Hold up, I gotta check something out,» and disappeared into the kitchen. Moments later he returned and said, «Sorry dude, we’re out of pizza sauce.» It was like five o’clock in the afternoon. I thought that perhaps they weren’t anticipating much of a dinner rush. I briefly considered ordering one without sauce, but I was really looking forward to a pizza with pizza sauce on it. I didn’t hold this incident against them. In fact it made me sort of nostalgic. It reminded me of when I was in high school and I worked at a hot dog joint that sold hot dogs and only hot dogs and nothing but hot dogs and how we ran out of hot dogs in the middle of the day one time. That was pretty funny. When I gave Sergio’s another try some time later I was in luck. Not only did they have dough, cheese and toppings, they were knee deep in sauce as well. Sergio’s pizza is certainly worth a try. Just save yourself some possible aggravation by calling ahead and verifying that they have basic pizza-building materials at hand.
