Apothecary Tattoo

My wife and I both got Tattoos while vacationing in San Luis. Jake did an awesome job on a portrait of my wife. We brought in a pic and was able to work with it, when other places demanded a better pic (my wife liked that pic). Trever drew a chrysanthemum on my wife and not only was my wife extremely happy with his work, she was comfortable. I am extremely happy and grateful to have found a tattoo artist like Jake and Trever. I anticipate getting more portrait work in the future and will make the drive from Ventura to get it done. Thanks again gents!

Had a previous tattoo that was never filled in. Jonny did such an incredible job and has such a light hand that it didn’t hurt like my previous tattoos. So happy with how it turned out and would defn recommend him to anyone!

My girlfriend and I were headed down the coast to spend the 4^th in San Diego. We had stopped to spend the night in Cambria when I received a call that my grandmother had died unexpectedly after surgery and we’d have to turn around and fly to Kentucky for the funeral.
Trying to salvage the vacation, we decided to see if we could find a place that would accept walk-​ins on short notice so I could get a tattoo of a Rook card, which was my grandmother’s favorite card game, and a small tattoo for my girlfriend.
Apothecary Tattoo was the second shop we called (after Central Coast Tattoo, which was a super unfriendly experience). They had availability, waited for us to drive 40 minutes, and drew up what I wanted and tattooed it in maybe 2 hours; they didn’t have time to get my girlfriend in, so she went with a small piercing instead. The end result (by Derek) is exactly what I wanted, almost identical to the reference material; he was fast as hell and cool to talk to. I’m used to Bay Area hourly rates and 6-​month wait lists and Derek’s work is at or above that level of quality with none of the pretension.

Best artists in the Central Coast! Each tattoo artist has a private room giving it a more personal experience and their art is phenomenal. This is the only studio in San Luis Obispo county that I recommend. Jake has done a few pieces on me and all of them are my favorite by far. They also get the most positive feedback from friends, family, and even complete strangers. Trever’s art and tattooing is amazing. He’s one artist whose art I truly admire. We’ve discussed a few ideas which he was more than happy to put his artistic input. I’ll be scheduling an appointment with him soon. If you’re looking for some serious art work, this is the studio for you. No need to look anywhere else.
