Yum. So friendly. Breakfast sandwiches hit the spot and coffee is outta this world.

I have been using Unilocal to find great places to eat for years and feel compelled to finally give my first review because Costal Peaks has the best coffee I’ve ever tasted. My specialized macchiato was made to perfection! My two sons(ages 6&8) loved their plain bagels with Nutella and my husband and I also enjoyed our breakfast sandwiches(mine on a wheat bagel and his on a croissant). They were freshly made(definitely not previously frozen like other reviewers mentioned). I will definitely visit this coffee shop every time I’m in town!

The location is good but it is a little hard to get into. The shop was clean and pretty active. I liked the ambience here. I ordered a large mocha. Service was fair and it didn’t take more than 5 minutes to get my drink. I gotta say that it was by FAR the worst tasting mocha I have had to date. It tasted nothing like a mocha flavored coffee. I am not quite sure how to explain the taste but it was not good. Not even close to what I expected. I had went there in the first place cause I am not real fond of the mocha at Starbucks and thought I would give this a try, … this makes me WISH I had went to Starbucks. If you’re expecting a chocolate flavored coffee, this is not it. Go elsewhere! As for the rest of the stuff at this place, … you will have to decide on your own. I might come back and give another product a try, but as for the mocha… not again! Good Luck!

Excellent coffee… actually Mocha cuz that’s what I always get whether I’m staying in slo or stopping by omw to LA. This place never disappoints! This time I had the Cuban sandwich which was pretty good although the bread was a bit hard and crunch for my taste. Mocha — 5⁄5 Cuban sandwich — 3.5÷5 Broccoli side salad — 5⁄5

They have great coffee! This is a good place to go to get breakfast in the morning with a group when places downtown will be busy. They’ve just moved to a larger location in the same strip mall, which is a bit nicer and bigger than their old one. They have good bagels, but the breakfast burritos and sandwiches aren’t the best. They are pre-made and reheated, which sometimes means that the eggs get rubbery. However, they’re very accommodating of substitutions. Once I ordered a breakfast sandwich and they offered to substitute ground turkey and avocado because they had ran out of sandwiches with bacon.(It was just as good with turkey and avocado!) All in all, great place to get a coffee and a light breakfast.

When I’m visiting a town or on vacation, one of the most important finds is a coffee shop that(1) roasts their own beans and(2) understand the majestic nature of the cappuccino. Not only does Coastal Peaks meet those two, I had a delicious Strata to pair. A must if you’re in the area.

They moved! Not far… Same shopping center, just the other end. Same great stuff, not all cramped(Krampus?) up.

Loved my breakfast Paninni! Delicious flavored cold tea also! Great place to get your morning going, friendly baristas. Great location, organic coffee, what more does one need? Didn’t try the coffee, will definitely come back.

… the Single Orgin Costa Rica ‘Honey’…wow… great suggestion from the staff… Such a great greeting from the staff and the fresh brewed coffee was fantastic! There are so many coffee shops in town, but this is worth finding! Highly recommended… go out and get a cup of coffee today… you won’t regret it!

We are so fortunate that these guys opened so close to teVelde Conservatory of Music. Our parents often go over and grab some of their yummy treats and coffee drinks… Parents can drop off kids for lessons, pick up a wonderful cup of coffee or tea and a healthy snack for their kids, and come back to sit and enjoy watching their children’s lessons. My teachers and I come in here for lunch several times a week, and not only do they have great food, but their coffee and tea drinks are delicious! They have made a special plate for us with a large tray of veggies, hummus, and pita bread… Yummy! They always a convenient & comfortable area for us to have our meetings.

Yum for iced white mocha! My husband and I frequent this location on occasion since has ample indoor seating and a good change up from all the crowded coffee spots downtown if we’re trying to be productive(or as much as one can be on a Saturday). My iced white mocha was sweet yet still had a strong coffee flavor to it. My husband’s peach ice tea was refreshing. The last time we were here, one of the owners I think, was kind enough to give us a brief tour of their roasting set up in the back of the store. It was very much appreciated! The décor is a bit out dated in my opinion and as an observation, the color scheme is on the darker side. They also have a TV in the larger seating area but it only plays a looping nature video with soothing sounds. Tip: The single bathroom is located straight ahead in the way back of the store, past the register, and past the curtains of what you might think is the«Employee Only» area.

The best coffee ever! My brother and his Girlfriend came back from San Luis Obispo with a bag of Deep Mahogany flavored coffee from this place. I totally love it. This coffee place makes other coffee brand look bad… I’m just saying. Rich & Bold in flavor. Smells very yummy, good for your tummy.

I am … Neutral about this coffee shop. I’ve experienced nothing fantastic nor horrific here, just a solid middle of the road place for food. Coffee is a little better than the food options. To be honest, I found a hair wrapped around the broccoli in a quiche recently, which may have soured my experiences here in general. I was given a full refund as well as a coupon for a free coffee on a future visit. Kudos for excellent customer service.

Coastal Peaks is a pleasant and convenient café that I only recently tried out. Thank you Unilocal!I needed the nudge in the right direction because I received just what I was expecting. The coffee was very good(they were out of their«medium» roast though…) and I was tickled to find a Cuban Sandwich in their selection. I was a little skeptical at first, as it blended in with the the cold burritos and the like. The staff was lovely and took the cold little loaf and delivered an attractive plate cooked(warmed) juuust right. It was deliciously crusty, expertly smushed, and perfectly pickled. They also have a few umbrella covered tables outside for beautiful days like this one. I would recommend Coastal Peaks for a casual breakfast, lunch, or even just coffee or tea.

I’m a big fan of local roasters in SLO, and thankfully we have plenty. Coastal Peaks is by far one of the best in the county — I’ve had their bean brew in a multitude of businesses around the county. Today was the first time I had actually visited the location, and I can’t tell you how pleased I am. The moment I walked in I was greeted with a genuine smile by the kind woman behind the counter. I told her it was my first time in and she took her time with me even though I was looking around the excellent seating areas before I ordered. I got my usual Americano and spent some time in the larger sitting room, and it was a pleasant experience. The décor is great, the music and ambience is cool and casual, and — of course — the coffee is rich and full of flavour. I’m impressed by their espresso. Great job, Coastal Peaks, your location matches your reputation! 5 Stars for your excellent customer service and coffee.

They roast their own beans. Service excellent. They offer hot food(which I did not try), bagels etc. It was a cool spring morning and the well decorated establishment(nice lighting, wood floors and leather couches and chairs) was l filled with a chatty crowd. It’s located in a strip mall near many businesses.

Heard many good reviews about this place so decided to check it out for breakfast since we were in town! Right when we walked in, the worker asked us if we wanted free iced latte. It caught me off guard and was not sure why they were offering it to us but HEY why not?! We ordered a breakfast burrito and a fruit cup along with another iced coffee. I like my ice coffee with soymilk, no sugar Unfortunately they were out of soymilk and recommended using almond milk as a substitute. Gave it a try and it was pretty good! They sure know how to make a customer feel welcomed. The lady mentioned that if we didn’t like the almond iced coffee, we can always exchange it Breakfast burrito — pretty good, inside was eggs, steak, bacon, beans! The thing that made it VERY delicious was their sauce. I think its their house salsa but it made the burrito that much better(had to ask for seconds!) Fruit bowl: very legit, offering a variety of fruits unlike some places — tangerine kiwi blueberry blackberry pineapple strawberry! Service is excellent. They sure know how to make a customer feel welcomed. Love the vibe of the place. Would stop by again when I’m in town!

I’ve been twice to Coastal Peaks now while visiting the SLO area. The first time was a five star experience. The second time was a two star experience. The coffee IS indeed delicious, so I DO advise that if you love coffee and are driving through, check this place out. Where I experienced the discrepancy was in the service. The first time, the barista was able to answer all our questions, and was obviously intensely passionate and knowledgeable about the product. The second time, which was this last Sunday, the baristas were not helpful nor even that friendly. My friend was provided no information(granted, he’s not great about asking questions). I asked many questions and was just given a laminated sheet to choose from. When I pointed out that the drip coffees available weren’t on that list, I was told the coffees change too often for the list to be updated. I understand that, but then can’t you help answer questions about mild versus smooth brews? I came here again with the intention of buying a bunch of roasts to go, but just got one coffee to go. My friend got an aeropress — which, by the way, only fills ¾ of the cup. We pointed out that the cup was no where near full and was told that the aeropress does not make a full cup. So just a heads up there. My friend did not like his coffee. I told him to go back and get another coffee, but he isn’t one of those types of people. They DO have heavy whipping cream if you ask, which is great. I would still go again, but I believe a big part of going to a great place like this is to have people who are knowledgeable and passionate about their product.

Always friendly. Amazing breakfast bagels. Great coffee! You can tell there are a lot of repeat customers coming here as the girls behind the counter talked with many of them. There are plenty of tables, chairs and couches to sit and relax and even a few outdoor tables! Don’t be afraid of the pre-made food, it’s always good! I was hesitant at first but they are all really good. My only complaint — there are a lot of flies inside. They had the front door open to get some air inside but we had trouble eating our breakfast because of the flies. Just gross. Close the door! Also, after we ordered another family came in and one of the baristas offered them a food menu saying there were more choices to pick from on there. I wish they would make this available to everyone not just who they decide to give it to.
