I have been getting my hair cut and colored for a couple of years by Kitty and wouldn’t dream of going anywhere else! All I have to do is sit down and let her come up with ideas for me because I’m always very happy with what she does.

I am a perfectionist when it comes to my hair. I like to have it platinum blonde, but healthy. That is usually two things you can’t have together, unless you’re a natural blonde. My natural hair color is dark. I’ve had a very hard time going from hairstylist to hairstylist. My hair looked horrible, because of the bad blonde color and dry damaged condition it was in. Then I found Kitty Goodspeed two years ago! Not only is she sweet, fun, and caring, but she’s also amazing at her job! I like to call her a hair color chemist. My hair is now perfect. I’m constantly complimented, and asked if my hair is naturally blonde. I drive an hour and a half to see my girl kitty every two weeks. I would drive farther for the results I get.

Kim Brown owner of Kim and Co. Salon is remarkably talented with coloring, cutting and styling my long thick hair; as well as my man’s short, course hair. The salon is full service, clean, inviting and full of friendly talented employees. Especially their new holistic massage therapist Linda King! Her fingers and hands are magic and can feel your body’s needs. Her 30 years experience is obvious and worth every cent! I suggest the 90 minute session and you still won’t want it to end! Then relax and enjoy the beautiful, peaceful garden while sipping tea or cucumber lemon water. Pure bliss!

Kim was great! Easy to talk to, very responsive and a pleasure to work with. She listens to what you want and comes up with amazing styles. I was adamant about having an updo with braids and curls, and she worked her magic. During my trial, I ended up changing my mind halfway through and she still cranked out a gorgeous hairstyle that I actually performed in. I wore it all night, danced my butt off and the style still held. Not a hair out of place.
I got married this past April and had all my bridesmaids (8 of them) get ready on her beautiful backyard patio. It had the cutest decorations, very picturesque (good for photos) and a quaint massage room. The entire staff was accommodating, offering drinks in adorable coffee mugs and light snacks. Kim let us pretty much take over the salon with girls going in & out of the salon getting their hair and make up done. We were allowed to bring our own food and champagne, etc as well.
Now, about my hair, I loved, loved, loved the updo she made for me. When I came to get my hair done, I decided I wanted to do the original hairstyle I had picked. She knew exactly what to do even though she had done a different ‘do during the trial. My hair was flawless! I had gotten so many compliments throughout the night. I still get compliments about my hair to this day, even if people are just looking at my wedding photos. One of the best things about her styles is that it lasts and lasts and lasts. My hair was finished at 12pm, my ceremony was at 6pm and the reception ended at 12am. After the reception, we had an afterparty, AND I ended up sleeping in my hair. In the morning, it still looked like I had just gotten it done.

I would highly recommend giving Kim n Co. a try. Kim has been cutting my hair for 16 years now and I respect her professional opinion. Recently, I decided it was time to start coloring my hair. I went with my natural colors and am very pleased with results. The haircuts and the color jobs have been great. I have also had Holly, Toni, and the other ladies in the salon cut my hair and they have done an amazing job!

This place is very cute. It’s an old home that was converted. Kim & tribe are very nice. Holly has been my stylist for a while now & she make me look fabulous everytime! Shop has cute accessories & some make-​up as well. Plus you can book to get a facial too.
Love that you don’t need to drive to downtown & deal with the parking issues.

With the seemingly endless array of service providers in the SLO area for massage therapy it is nearly impossible to know which is one going to be worth the time/​money. I was recently turned on to Kim & Co by my fiancé who spoke extremely highly of the experience has enjoyed there multiple times. Naturally I wanted to see what it was all about.
I got a 90 minute massage from Becky Fox and was thoroughly content and completely releived all the tension in my muscles from an active sports lifestyle. Becky was not only through, intuitive, but also very accommodating to my personal preferences and needs. Her passion for providing high quality services is very evident in her approach and client first mentality. Not only was the massage incredible but she even let me move up our appointment last minute to accommodate a work conflict I had that day.
The massage room is secluded from the rest of the salon and with the calming music/​essential oil aromatherapy it was a perfect compliment to my overall experience.
I will definitely be going back to Becky for more massages in the future. You’re loss if you don’t give her try.

Holly worked on me and she was very patient with my fidgeting. She did both my hair and makeup for my sister’s wedding. I even forgot my clips but she gave me pointers on the best places to put them. My hair lasted the whole night, despite all the partying to be had.

For my first visit to this salon, I made an appointment to get my hair washed and blown out straight. I ended up waiting for my stylist for quite a while, until I eventually learned that she hadn’t shown up. However, once it became clear that my stylist had flaked and wasn’t just running late, the rest of the team jumped in and helped me out between their scheduled clients. So despite the delay in getting started, I ended up with a great style. Minus one star for having a flaky employee, but four stars for the great customer service. I’ll be back!

My entire family has been going to Kim & Co. for over 15 years. We see Kim B., Sabrina and a variety of people for massages. Kim has excellent taste, is up to date on new looks for all ages and knows what I want before I do. I have longer hair I get cut and colored. I have viewed other hairdressers who have been there for years and they all are very good. Toni seems to specialize in really short cuts. I think it says a lot about a salon and how it is run when excellent stylists stay for years.
Kim is also excellent on boys cuts which includes shampoo/​condition/​head.
Kim & Co. did my entire wedding parties hair and makeup. It was a fabulous experience and everyone looked beautiful.
Kim & Co. salon uses hair color products that have the least amount of chemicals and are gentle on the hair. The makeup, hair and skin care lines all our more natural and non-​irritating.
Sabrina provides all aesthetician services and her facials are fantastic. Kim B. and Sabrina have given me advice on skin care and make up throughout the years which has been exactly right.
My mother gets excellent manicures and pedicures and has no trouble making appointments.
Kim & Co. is an excellent salon and I highly recommend it to anyone!

Kim Brown has been my stylist for years. A good stylist, that you gain comfort with, can be a hard thing to find. Kim fits the bill. I often joke with her that she can never retire. She understands my hair, experiments with it from time to time to keep me up with the times, and even puts up with my opposing political views :-)
The salon is easy to find, has ample parking, and has a comfortable feel in a historic home converted to a salon. The staff is always nice and helpful arranging appointments, etc. Many have been with Kim for years which helps bring consistency and experience to their new clients.
You really need to trust the person with the scissors. I think you can certainly trust the stylists at Kim and Company.

This review is based on my experience getting a haircut from Toni. The salon as a whole is cute, has a comfortable feel, and may have better stylists.
I went in wanting about 3 or so inches cut off the back, some long side bangs, and some shaping, sprucing up. From the beginning Toni seemed put off that my hair was a bit long and unruly. She was hesitant to shampoo it until she got the idea to pick up the scissors and cut off several inches before shampooing. I reacted and nervously asked how much she planned to cut; please don’t cut too much. I think she probably cut a little too much, but that’s not my biggest issue.
I had a picture to show desired length, and I gave her some specific directions. She cut, while we chatted. I thought all was going find, until she abruptly pronounced she was finished and removed the cape. Startled I realized she had not cut my bangs and nervously said so. Her first response, «I was going from the picture». Then, «Oh the picture does have bangs.» So she cut side bangs, without putting cape back on. Once again, «ok, you’re finished», not giving me a chance to asses the haircut and see if I wanted anything else touched up. I might expect this kind of service from a cut rate salon, not for a $ 50 haircut.
Wasn’t thrilled but have now given it a week to see if my hair would behave better now that it’s used to the shorter length. It’s not. She cut length off the back but didn’t do any of the shaping sprucing up around the front. Debating trying to different salon to fix this haircut.

if u want an amazing massage ask for Becky she is the best. very intuitive about my needs and did what I asked, and didnt talk a lot. I can’t stand therapists that wanna talk a lot! I will definitely b coming back!

My girl Catherine just moved to this salon and today was my first time there. She is the best hair stylist I have ever had, so I go where she goes! What a cute little place! Great service, great location (a real parking lot, no meters). I also had a facial with Sabrina and that was great too! Can’t wait to go back.

Granted this was a year ago, but I was reminded of it today and just had to say something…
My boyfriend and I went to Kim & Co for a couples massage. The lady that massaged my boyfriend was like 80 years old, wore gloves, and used NO pressure. My boyfriend was mortified and left feeling the opposite from how someone should feel after getting a massage. I was embarrassed that I set the appointment up at that place.
Now it’s time for us to get another massage and I have no idea where to set it up.
Anyway, I did give them 2 stars because they are friendly, my massage was ok, and their hair & makeup services are satisfactory.

This review is based solely on my experience of trying to get an appointment to come in for a pedicure (and other times, both a manicure and pedicure).
I have been trying to come in since October 2011 (as I’m writing this review, it is April 2012). The first time I called, it was for a same-​day pedicure. They said they cannot accommodate last minute requests, which I understood. Over the following few months, the next two times I called a week in advance and they still could not accommodate me.
Not to be phased, I recently tried again to book a pedicure and manicure for myself and my friend, for my upcoming wedding. I called three weeks in advance, and spoke with — — - (I’d rather not share her name), who sighed when I asked about making an appointment, then flipped through her calendar for a full minute. I asked «if I specify X date, does that help?» She responded (it was a murmur, but clear enough for me to hear) with «it’s the manicure AND pedicure that is the problem.» Then she said louder, «can I put you on hold?» Which she did, and because of that rude response to me wanting to bring them business, I just hung up. I think it’s time to give up on booking an appointment. It makes me sad because I’ve been trying to use a gift certificate from a friend for seven months now, and to no avail. Her money has gone to waste.
I think if they can work on their customer service, it would be a better and easier experience.

I had a great experience at this salon. The salon itself is pretty cute and use to be a home (you can tell if you look around).
My hairdresser, Sherry was very down to earth and informative.
The appointment started off with introducing exactly what I wanted done to my hair (in my case a simple trim to get rid of split ends).
She shampoo/​condition/​deep conditioned my hair and gave me a great head massage :) Definitely a plus.
Then, we reviewed exactly how much I wanted off one more time before she began to cut. I could feel my hair’s texture change already. It was really easy to run my fingers through it.
She trimmed the perfect amount and really made sure I was happy.
We talked about curling and she showed me a new way to curl my hair and give it more volume that I had never even thought of (you will have to ask her if you go, I won’t give out her secrets for free lol).
Sherry showed me the damage I had tone to my bangs (from the flat iron… an addiction) and told me how to take care of them so they don’t get worse. She also gave me advice about ponytails, and how they can cause damage if put in the same place every day.
All this for $ 40…I would go back.
