By appointment only. The owner is a real craftsman. He can take one look at you and find the exact outfit that will fit like a glove and look great. The leather is of high quality and it is cut so that the apparel drapes in the most flattering way. Worth the investment.

Charleston, SC
Must be a money laundering business. We went to the store TWICE, on a Wednesday and a Thursday; both in mid afternoon and both times the store was locked up! No sign, «back in 10 minutes»; just locked up. When I asked a neighboring shop when «Mr Michael» opened, I was told he works by appointment only!
How can he display souvenir t shirts to sell and keep his doors locked???

The rudest store I’ve ever encountered. Ever. Every question I asked was greeted with a huff and a grudging response. I was reminded of that scene with the snooty Maître d’ in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.
I truly can not imagine how this place stays in business. Their prices seem high for the quality of leather on display. They will make custom jackets, but the idea of working with these people gives me the shudders. Rather than deal with them, I will make the trek to Solvang and the lovely leather shop there.

We lucked out and walked in after an appointment. Purchased a «I’m SLO in love» shirt and the softest kuhl sweater. The owner is a great guy to chat with.

Looked great from the street. We walked in to buy a couple tshirts and the employee immediately went to grouchy-​town and demanded that we not touch any of his precious piles of shirts. He insisted that they were all pre-​sold even tho they were still out on display. He honestly could not push us out of the store fast enough. I have never been so affected by a business persons attitude (in a positive or negative way) as I was today… Treating people so wrong is not a good business strategy. Good luck to you and your appointment only clients, sir.

if you are in San Luis Obispo, stop in to see Michael at Mr. Michael.
He is a wealth of information and is a passionate foodie. As you chat about where to get the best fruit ice, fish tacos up and down the central coast, you’ll be distracted by his beautifully appointed boutique. This man has great taste in men and woman’s apparel and accessories. It’s upscale in an understated way. I image the local vintners coming in to shop. Really nice, no pretentiousness, kind of like the entire Central Coast!
