I love the location the deli and the owners that work behind the counter ensuring quality food and service. I have been enjoying this place for six years and will continue to do so. I recommend this to anyone avoiding the hassle of downtown parking for a good bite to eat!

Was looking forward to trying out this place since they have fresh BBQ Tri-Tip sandwiches. Unfortunately the meat which must have been cooked earlier that day was cold. This is not the way a Tri-Tip sandwich is ever supposed to be served. Way overpriced for the quantity. I recommend Brickhouse BBQ in Morro Bay.

$ 6 – 7 again gets one slice of roast beef, kicker today was that it was on stale bread. Shame on me.

Weekdays only stop in for big selection of burritos, SALADBAR, potato, macaroni salads, coffee, drinks, snacks, and deli sand made to order. Daily specials like spaghetti, Asian rice bowls, and an outside BBQ with burgers, tri tip, etc. They have 2 hot soups daily, and always a pot of chili. There are 3 sizes of cups you can choose from. Serve yourself & be careful, because it is hot. Their prices are better than most places in SLO& I am a long time local(since 1960), and this place is a hidden gem I think. They have an item that I like to get, ½ sand plus either potato or macaroni salad. It is about $ 5.95 approx. & the ½ sand, is really nearly a full one. They give you most of the slice of bread, just cutting off a little, but call it a half. You can also get those little green hot peppers on the side or in your sand. I like them on the side. I will never get enough of their potato salad, I love it! P. S. look in the glass case below the sandwich ordering area. You will see the burritos they have made up(about 6 kinds) & you can take it cold for later, or they will warm them in the microwave for you. I have never ran into any limit on using an ATM card there, so I don’t know if that is a legit. comment(from another reviewer). Give it a try, I think you will be happy you did. Their prices are way more reasonable than other delis in SLO.

I can’t say enough about their chicken noodle soup and chili! Their Deli is great too, and their prices are good. I’m not so wild about their salad bar… but then again, I’m not much a salad bar kinda person :-)

I like Padre Deli partly based on location and the fact that every Friday they have Fresh BBQ sandwiches. It is a bit pricey for what you are getting and there is a 7.00 limit on Credit Card/Debit Transactions. The deli is also only open Monday-Friday, closed on Saturday and Sunday. The people that work there are super friendly too.

Five stars purely on it’s Meatloaf Sandwich. This sandwich used to be served only on Mondays, but I hear it’s around more frequently now. The meatloaf would come out fresh and steaming. A hearty slice(and sometimes two) would be placed on your choice of bread, topped with a bit of tomato sauce, and dressed with your choice of fixings. No doubt that this sandwich would sell out fast. This sandwich was so good my college roommates would cut class to get a few. And if they didn’t come back with enough to share, they’d get hell for it. I haven’t had this sandwich for a few years, but to this day everytime I see meatloaf sandwich or just plain meatloaf on a menu I think of the Meatloaf Sandwich at Padre Deli in SLO. Maybe I’ll take a road trip down there to get me one.
