i love to shop locally, and support local businesses but the owners can be so moody, and they close the store unexpectedly sometimes. but all in all, they have alot of supplies, and they work well with the art dept. to have everything we need in stock(most of the time) their stuff and shop is cute though. i’m a frequent shopper.

I discovered Stamp Luis when I was a freshman at CP in 1999. I was downtown on one of those oh-my-god-get-me-the-heck-away-from-my-evil-lazy-horrific-roommate strolls. You know the kind. Anyway, I stumbled into Stamp Luis, and was met by the most friendly & genuine people. They have fantastic inventory… stuff that is hard to find or that you wouldn’t even know to look for. I’m a bookartist and Stamp Luis was an indispensable resource for me. The great thing is that the inventory isn’t stagnant. So in the span of time I lived in SLO, I never got bored going in there, and I always found something new.(bad for the bank though!) Lemme give one more thing that speaks to Stamp Luis’ greatness: I finally found a comparable place in Manhattan, and I was chatting with the person who worked there about how I had looked for such a long time and about missing the place I used to go in San Luis Obispo. And she knew what I was talking about it right away, and pulled out some Studios Blackbird stuff. Sometimes when I’m working on art, I pull out a supply and it still has a Stamp Luis pricesticker on it and I get so nostalgic!
