I was in San Marcos for a friend’s wedding and my suit was in a mess after travelling. A friend recommended this local dry cleaners to get my suit pressed and clean. I was in a time crunch and needed it soon and Willie’s was able to deliver. Suit came out perfectly and I was able to get my suit same day at no additional charge! Great place and friendly owner.

I brought in a pair of chinos to be hemmed. That’s all. I wanted to drop the pants off and leave. The clerk at the counter, however, didn’t know how to write it up.(How difficult is it to train an employee to do that?) So, I returned in 30 minutes, the owner was there, and he wrote it up. Coincidentally, he was rude when speaking with my wife(though she told me about it after we were driving away). I picked up the pants a few days later and, after wearing the pants one time, the stitching ripped out. Very disappointing — and I’ll never return. The owner is from India and he clearly shouldn’t be working with the public.(Actually, I think he needs some corporal punishment.)

RIPOFF. Alterations WAY overpriced and very poor workmanship. I absolutely do NOT recommend this establishment.

I live in SF now but I grew up in San Marcos and whenever I’m in town I go to Willies. My family and I have been using them for the last 20+ years! Pros: Great service at very reasonable prices. The guy that works there has been doing this forever and is very knowledgeable on what stains will and will not come out so you don’t waste your money. Cons: They need to remodel their front desk area. They have posters up from the 90s. No joke.

I have taken my clothes to this shop many times, and the same old man helped me. It is an old fashioned business with no new technology. I didn’t have a problem with this business until I brought in a coupon; $ 3 off to be presented ad drop-off. When I picked up my 4 items(1 blouse 3 sweaters) I questioned the $ 18.50 bill. He had already applied the $ 3 coupun, but had added $ 4 because one sweater was longer than the rest(by 4 – 5 inches). So instead of the usual $ 4.50 to clean 1 sweater, he charged me $ 8.50. It was obvious to me he was trying to make up for the coupon by finding an excuse to charge more. When challenged on this issue, he didn’t care, telling me the sweater was a dress. For me it wasn’t so much the money issue, but the way he tried to pull one over on me that angered me. Willies lost me as a customer that day. I suggest finding a more honest business for your dry cleaning service.
