I’ve used John at All Star Awards several times in the past and I’ve always been happy with the result. 2 years ago I was assisting the Student Bar Association at my school and wanted to help out by getting plaques made for an awards ceremony. I found John on Google and stopped in to his shop to see what he could do. All Star Awards does all of the engraving in house, which is great because John can tell you what’s in stock, how things are made, what turns out the best, etc. After looking at all of the sizes and styles I made my selection and found that I was about to receive the best prices I’d heard of so far. When I came back to pick up the plaques they looked amazing. Last year I was the president of the SBA and so of course I went back to John to get the plaques done again. They turned out just as well as the previous year. This time I also had John make the graduation gifts for our graduating class. We weren’t going too fancy and had decided to have custom mugs made for each grad. John does all of the printing in house just as he does the engraving. John went through several catalogs to make sure that we got the best mugs that we could for our price range. We ended up with larger mugs than I had expected, and John found some that had an interior color that matched the print on the outside. We ended up with a much better deal than I had expected, and some really nice mugs to give to the grads. I don’t know what H.C.‘s problem was. I’ve had no problems with John’s work. Everything has been completed promptly with no stress for me at all. Anyone that gives All Star Awards a bad review likely is having their own problems that are not a result of John’s work. John turns out amazing products. The service will exceed your expectations and you will get a good price on your products as well. I haven’t yet found anything that John cannot do, so if there is anything that you are thinking of, John can likely do it for you. I highly recommend John for all of your printing, engraving, or customization needs. If you need groomsmen/bridesmaids gifts — this is the place to go. Call John, he’ll help you out.

I needed to get numbers put on the back of a jersey(only one) for a basketball league that I was joining. After visiting several other places that could not help me, I came here. John spent a lot of time helping me find what I needed, since my type of job usually requires special order numbers. But he was able to find spare numbers up in his stock room. I chatted him up, and he seemed very knowledgeable about the different services he provides, from silkscreening to embroidery. While this whole process took a bit of time, I fortunately wasn’t in a rush. Prices weren’t cheap, but I didn’t think they were exorbitant either. I feel like this is definitely your local mom & pop sports/trophy shop. If you’re looking for Kinko’s-like service and delivery, you may not get it here. But you’ll get a guy who knows his stuff and will work hard for you.

I had some mugs in hand that need to be reprinted(add an additional logo). After calling a bunch of promotional item company in the area, All Start Award is the only place does printing in house. Over the phone, John patiently explained to me the different process and possible solutions to reprint the mugs. Since he does printing himself, he is very knowledgeable of the process. After chatted with him, I now have to make some choices. My first impression over the phone with this company is excellent. Will update my review if I decided to go with him.

How slow is slow??? How much time can one business waste? I am all for local-run businesses — owner John runs this place and by the looks of things, it seems he’s been around for awhile — but he wasted too much of my time to get any return business. I came here based on my landlord telling me that I could get a little name plate for the mailbox and doorbell here. That part was true, but he failed to warn me that it might take longer than expected. I dropped off my request on Thursday morning. At the time, I asked if it could be finished by the end of the day. John, the owner, said if he finished it, he would call me. Otherwise, I could pick it up on Friday. Keep in mind this is laser printing a name on to a little strip of black plastic in white font. No phone call on Thursday, so I returned on Friday around noon. There was a sign up that he would be back asap. I returned again late Friday afternoon. The name plates were not done. In fact, while I waited, he made them. I stood there for 15 minutes while he slowly made his way around the store, at time, looking for the materials he was to work with. Tick tock, tick tock. As I waited, my mind started thinking… What the heck? Why could he not have done them on Thursday? And why were they not done when I got there on Friday? Perhaps the disorganization in the store bespeaks of his general store philosophy. There was no rush, no apology, no nothing. I really regretted prepaying(on good faith) on Thursday because I would have taken my business elsewhere in a heartbeat when the name plates weren’t done on Friday as he had promised. p. s. The prices didn’t seem cheap either. Really wish I had done a price comparison… And he said he doesn’t open on the weekends. Nice luxury.
