Appe Teasers

You’ll never find this place driving around downtown San Mateo. Appe Teasers is located across the Century 12 movie posters on the left if you’re facing the ticket box office. Park somewhere and go around and behind Kingfish.
Good cappuccino on that polarized clear cup, meaning the saucer cradles the cup in place… wow. It didn’t taste flat burnt, in fact it tasted better than average, the best I’ve had in downtown so far. What’s also cool about Teasers is their extensive wine list including port. They supposedly even do wine tasting. How cool is that? And I just dropped by for the wifi, which by the way required me to play with my laptop settings because my friggin’ Bluetooth conflicts with my Internet session there. A bit concerning with the flies, though, and I was inside, but that’s no big issue. Maybe it’s just that one time, we’ll see, still my first coffee pick in San Mateo as of this time.

Excellent café on Main St. right by the movie theatre. Very cozy with couches, live music, people watching, patio seating, bar/​counter seating, coffee/​wine/​beer/​desserts, and a friendly staff — they even put out an antipasto platter and a great selection of nuts (marconi almonds, candied pecans, soy nuts, etc.) to snack on and a variety of gossip magazines to read!
*All they need is a mani/​pedi station and a rack of clothes and accessories and this could be a one stop shop for girls!
