We were looking for redesign our kitchen backsplash and we were struggling to get a design. There were so many choices and we really did not know what to do. We were able to find Debi on the Internet and she help out a great deal. Not only did she help with the style and colors, she drew the design to scale. The contractor that I hired was able to install the tiles exactly to her drawings. We were very happy with the outcome.

We’d been in our home for almost twenty years and hadn’t done a single thing to it when we met Debi Bohmerwald, the principle of Bohmer Design. The purchase of a new bedroom set sparked out decision to re-paint the interiors. Having had problems in previous houses picking wall colors(how many shades of white are there!!!), I set about looking for someone who could help us choose colors. I interviewed three designers and quickly decided to go with Debi. Debi is a busy mom, with tons of great experience as a residential architect. Her demeanor is calm, almost serene. She listens perceptively to the needs of her clients. Debi is more interested in cultivating a relationship with her clients than to maximize her return on the first assignment. We were very impressed with the free initial consultation and her ideas based on a quick study of our tastes and needs. With furniture on its way and painting contractors already selected, we were on a very tight timeline. Debi began work without a «contract» in place, and invested several hours in a follow-on visit to photograph each room and talk through ideas with us. She also brainstormed other low-cost improvements that might be considered in the future. There was never any pressure whatsoever, her approach is more like a helping professional than that of an aggressive sales person. Within three days from the follow-on visit, Debi had a completed a fully documented painting plan including trim, accent, ceiling and wall colors for every room of our house. She patiently reviewed her plan with us in another two hour meeting and made adjustments based on our reaction which was by and large very positive. I’m sure Debi lost money on our color scheme project, she spent far more hours with us in developing the plan than was warranted by her fee. But by sweating the details and taking the time to build a long term relationship with us, she’s won our trust and confidence. For the most part the painting project is now done. The house looks GREAT. The colors match our furnishings and personal style… the paint project has dramatically changed the feeling of the house. We’re eager to start on the next phase of our home improvement plans with Debi’s guidance… a light remodel kitchen and guest bathroom. Debi is a talented, hardworking, and practical designer that we’re thrilled to have found and plan on working with for the long haul.
