I write Unilocal reviews once every two or three years; only when I am really impressed with service and want to spread the word. I have to Unilocal about the fantastic service and hair style I received at my first visit to Carmel’s salon in San Mateo. I recommend treating yourself to her attention to details and fine, caring professional service. Ms De Rosa is very knowledgeable and experienced and I feel that you are in good hands when you choose Ms. DeRosa to style your hair to perfection.

Carmel Ann is the only stylist I will trust with my curly hair! After decades of cutting & coloring my own hair because no one else could get it right, I approached Carmel Ann for advice and decided to work with her.
I am so glad I did!!! She is extremely talented, kind and professional! I would highly recommend her to anyone, who is looking for a stylist. Wheather you need regular maintenance or a total makeover, Carmel Ann, is your Stylist Lady!!!

I have been seeing Carmel Ann for 5 years. She is an exceptional stylist who is devoted to her craft. She is meticulous in her work and always takes the time to deliver the best cut possible. Over three years ago I was in the market for a new stylist because I was not happy. A acquaintance friend of mine has curly hair, like mine, that is super cute. I asked for a referral to her stylist, and Carmel Ann came into my life. Carmel Ann is very good with listening and executing what I want. We’ve changed the shape, length and color of my hair over the last few years, and I am very happy. I can recommend Carmel Ann without reservation for blonde (going grey) highlighted, curly hair. Her location in San Mateo is convenient with lots of parking. Carmel Ann is very friendly and doesn’t upsell the wonderful products available for purchase in her salon.

I have been going to Carmel Ann for over 5 years now. She is an amazing hair stylist and wonderful person. She always listens to what I am thinking and my curly, long hair turns out perfect every time! For my 30th birthday, Carmel Ann did an awesome job putting me hair into a fake bob for my «Roaring out of my 20’s» themed party. It looked spectacular! I would highly recommend Carmel Ann if you are looking for a highly trained, highly reliable, friendly, great hair stylist!

Never hesitate to try a new style.; I’m always happy, every single time she has it right; either Haircut, highlights, blow dry, color correction, hair treatments and of course «Ombré» which I loved it!!!
Always doing her best and taking the necessary time to perform a great work
She is always attentive and caring!
My hair was a disaster before I met her. My hair was so damaged and long that I just cried. She have give my hair extensive care with her amazing salon products.

I have been seeing Carmel Ann for the last year and a half and am always happy with the results after a cut and highlights. She’s great at making blonde look natural (people ask me if it’s my natural color!) and making my thin hair look fuller with layers. Carmel Ann is also very personable and flexible. Her new salon is located in an easy to find shopping center off El Camino with plenty of parking. The prices are very reasonable for the area and she takes her time with clients. I’ve sent many people to Carmel Ann and would recommend her to anyone looking for a great haircut and/​or highlights!

I’ve been going to Carmel Ann for the last 2.5 years that I’ve lived in the Bay Area and she’s the best! I have thick, curly, and long red hair that is colored. It’s really difficult to find someone that can work with my hair and get the color just right, and she does such a fantastic job!
Also, she has so much patience. She’s always smiling and taking her time, and you can really tell she loves her job! It takes about an extra 30 – 40 minutes to straighten my hair, and sometimes I give her the option to just style it curly if she’s in a hurry, and she always takes the extra time to straighten it for me!
I would highly recommend Carmel Ann as your long-​term stylist/​colorist!
