I went to the 1st Friday of the month open house last night and it was so fun! Love the vibe at this place… supporting local artists of all types from DJ’s to canvas artists to artisanal coffee makers… lots of cool jewelry too. I hear 1st Wednesdays are equally as fun you get to go and use art supplies to make your own art and enjoy refreshments for $ 25…I’m in!
It was cute… they have a collection of old typewriters and little 4 year olds were asking their parents «what are these?»
Thanks Flywheel for giving our community such an awesome place to hang out.

An awesome addition to San Mateo’s expanding art scene. The owners and regulars are all very genuine people and a pleasure during any of the event nights they host. It’s a very relaxed environment on their art nights, where you can have some drinks, look at art, listen to music, and enjoy the company. There’s also several booths selling arts and crafts – lots of different ways to support local artists.
It’s a great hangout place for a Friday night, but they also do various art and craft classes. Check em out if you get a chance, there’s no cover on the art nights, just a donations jar if you want to contribute.
